  1. You are insane. There would be plenty of takers.
  2. Saying Q could be better than Gio Gonzalez is ... not that impressive to me.
  3. You are our new insider. You will be treated like a god until you deliver news we don’t want to hear.
  4. 24, he’ll be 25 in feb. JJ Cooper told me he’s heard there’s a number of teams legit thinking of taking him in rule 5
  5. The thing I don’t like about this is Quintana isn’t very good.
  6. I get it! I specifically think Brantley's hitting style will mesh well with this team. To speak of player comps, he just feels like he'll be that new howie kendrick type.
  7. I will slowly win these until we are through encarnacion.
  8. I'll take that bet. If I win nobody on the board can mention Adam Dunn again.
  9. EE was 37 and had already started to show real decline outside of his sox run (didn't he stop hitting doubles? Usually bad) Brantley is still great and is providing much more than power. I get that every player is just a former sox player, but come on guys.
  10. turning around pirates pitchers is the new market inefficiency
  11. Basically he is starting to move in cement and was DH a lot last year. OTOH, if you could choose a hitter that is the perfect balance to what sox need to add (high contact, low k, good BB%, great vs RHP), Brantley is it.
  12. I am not Jimmy, but I do have too many subscriptions to stuff, and in the athletics rundown of the instructs the sox had high praise for Isaiah Carranza who was a 12th round pick in 2019 but had to get TJS right away. He was an overslot pick then getting 175k and was ranked #119 in BA that year. He showed up to instructs looking great apparently, he's 6'5 and throws mid 90s. All kinda reminds me a bit of when Aaron Bummer showed up out of nowhere.
  13. Looking forward to people talking about jackie bradley in here.
  14. I know this seems like a very boring note but it's actually interesting! I gotta work on my titles.
  15. ugh I have to follow him on instagram now. Robert paid off, but it was a rough few years of shirtless dudes.
  16. It would be a really good idea honestly. With the NL DH news it also seems pretty possible. That Schwarbs can play a passable outfield is helpful with vaughn. BA also had vaughn as likely to be in minors for most of year, so at this point I do think DH is a place we should use the market to really balance our RHP.
  17. This is true but to be fair this is using information from schaumburg/instructs.
  18. I think most of us just don't think home away splits are a thing. Way overanalyzed for coors hitters. There are a few places I think it matters (lemahieu unlikely to repeat his power outside of yankee stadiums short rf fence) but most hitters hit better at home.
  19. He ran into a wall and needed his spleen removed. He injured his ribs and was out two months. Broke his foot. And now shoulder surgery. I don't think pointing out a player can't stay healthy is a personal insult to him.
  20. It's really this. I'd buy the talent for sure if this was even the 2020 season. But we are talking about a guy whose healthy years are about 100 games. Sometimes they grow out of it, but this guy makes JD Drew look like cal ripken.
  21. From the BA Rule 5 Preview I would imagine he is not likely to get selected, and now I kinda hope not because this is interesting! " McClure showed up to Chicago’s instructional league program much improved after working with White Sox biomechanics specialist Ben Hansen. The changes he made showed in a fastball that had bumped up to 92-95 mph. He pairs it with a slider that flashes above average and a curveball that could get to average. McClure put up some of the best numbers at Camelback Ranch (where the White Sox hold spring training) and could be worth a look in the big leagues." figured this could be interesting to the futuresox crew so tagging @Y2Jimmy0
  22. Lets just re-write constitution to allow us to elect Shinzo Abe.
  23. I'm so sorry to hear, praying for recovery.
