  1. Will be interesting to see this weeks U of I results which will probably come in on Friday. So far it looks like R is about 1...a little disappointing given mass testing but we'll see what mid September looks like.
  2. I remember doing an exercise in 2015 looking ahead to 2018. The reason was because we had just pushed our chips in with 2-3 year deals with the expectation that our "renewed" focus on scouting would lead to a next wave to take over once those contracts expired. It became clear how marginal all of the prospects were, and basically only Jose and TA stuck just 3 years later. Now...anyone that did a "2020 lineup" in 2018 would pretty much have nailed it, and the wildcards (Rutherford, Adolfo, Basabe, lgon, etc) none panned out, same with our 5th starter candidates, but I'll take the success of the the top level guys nailing it THIS well.
  3. I think Danny can play the internal politics much better. Bauer should probably either take over Driveline or start his own.
  4. Did Roberts HR hit above that ivy thing? It ricocheted so damn hard I couldn’t tell where it landed
  5. Just like we all suspected the AL central is the most conpetitive in baseball
  6. lol yeah I was thinking that the best confidence builder isn’t blowing them out but playing kinda miserably and winning by 3 runs still
  7. He’s 2020s Cliff Politte
  8. We’re talking about...Vanderbilt, we’re talking about ... Vanderbilt, right?
  9. I mean people still post that bob twitter guy's rumors. If it says the sox are planning to do something people like it's gonna be on here.
  10. Not gonna lie I hope like hell we get the Rodon from April 2019. Not the best pitcher in the world but good enough and would be a big relief to not have to do a bullpen day every fifth day.
  11. I uh, am cool without Josh Osich.
  12. ugh we are going to have to watch Lopez on Wednesday.
  13. merk just put the stake in it.
  14. trades still trickling in
  15. I always enjoy the sanctimonious tweets condescending to fans about being sensible and not freaking out about a trade not being made and... zero tweets from any sox fan freaking out.
  16. that part is weird to me, usually Hahn does send out the message that nothing worked out. But not holding my breath just frantically command+R'ing
  17. Lol I love how this 1960s business axiom still sticks around against all odds.
  18. stick a fork in 'er.
  19. whoops missed that person saying Lynn stayed. Weird move JD, but guess you have the offseason when people have a whole bunch of sweet players didn't get their options picked up and prospects seem more attractive than ever.
  20. Olney says braves didn't get em either. So he's either with Texas or Sox at this point no?
  21. enjoying this reveal by deduction Joel Sherman is doing.
  22. Ah, well, nevertheless.
  23. hmm...starting to think we didn't get anything.
