I think the board has tended to struggle with players that are clearly better than what we have but not top 5 level. The good news about getting Joc for this team as opposed to 2015/16 is we aren't signing him and expecting him to propel us to the playoffs. We'd be just adding a good player to our core of excellent players. People are better at this with pitchers but last few years people would look at players that were clearly better but still be like "no I think Yolmer Sanchez can basically be that (and he'd put up his 79 wRC+ and the other person would put up 105-110).

The LEGEND of Luis Robert ESPN feature article

Honestly I thought he’d be good defensively just BECAUSE he was so fast, but nobody ever talked about his defense the way they do about Christian Pache or the like. His defensive instincts and jumps are really good, he’s not just fast. His defense has been a surprise in how plus it’s been to me. -

things I absolutely hate on twitter: using user handles or hash tags rather than just using their names and including a link at the end. I though the dodgers knocked sox out of top five because I wasn’t doing the correct mapping-to-a-marketing-brand. Still not as bad as “wow you wouldn’t believe the homer by @hatmanxtc98878 last night!” -
Bummer - has a nerve issue, just hope he returns before october Rodon - throwing in Schaumburg, hopefully next week GG - should be next week too This info was mostly shared in RHs recent press conference after trade deadline passed.

The amount of ho-hum 4-hit games anderson is collecting is insane. But...let's talk about that damn home run from Robert. Holy freaking crap. HOLY FREAKING CRAP. I'm not sure it's possible to appear to hit a ball harder off the plate. That was Pujols 2005 v. Astros territory.

Shoutout to @Harold's Leg Lift low key news drops -
I really hope him going max effort brings back that electric stuff I saw in his first 2 innings of his first few starts, but hard to watch him recently. If bullpen brings his velo up to 97-98 and just doing fastball/slider combo he could pan out there.

I don't know about ace but Kyle Hendricks had a really good first promotion, and in 2014 Arrieta had started to become Arrieta. So he wasn't a prospect, but they had some reason to believe they'd have 2 good pitchers at that time.

Reynaldo had that incredible arc of a flawed player being followed by soxtalk. Step 1 - Yell at any prospect writers who say he could be a bullpen arm and has trouble with command and keeping his velocity over multiple innings. Step 2 - Trash him in every start Step 3 - Still manage to put a placeholder era of 3.5 for each upcoming season expecting him to be good Step 4 - Trash him every start for having no command and failing to hold his stuff, demand he be placed in bullpen or DFAd Step 5 - Yell at any prospect writers who allude that a different sox prospect may have limitations.

I'll just say this season has vindicated all of my opinions about [insert topic].

Incredibly lucky over multiple starts, I agree.

Sheets could probably fetch a middle reliever where that team doesn't want to pay the salary anymore.

Cleveland's offense is like 27th.

there may be some interesting guys whose options aren't picked up, it's going to be a weird year. But Josh Reddick may not be worst idea - mixing up lineup with a lower K guy, but obviously limited ceiling. but also possible you look at an adam duvall with pache and waters coming up. The year after has a lot of interesting guys, might be worth a stopgap.

I'm not sure "failed to develop LH hitting" is a thing. For whatever reason we just haven't ended up with many LH hitters, it's not like it's much of a development problem.
-
well, we'd get hopefully some new shots at RF with Colas or Cespedes (...or vaughn ?)

Wild looking at this list and now so many either already contributing or on the cusp. Special times. This time next year our top ten is going to be pretty wild, going to be fun in a different way now to watch the minors and looking for which of our young talent starts to distinguish itself.

interesting. Opens up jacques vaughn. Bulls supposedly hot on the heat asst.

Yeah, I mean if sox are 14 under their next 19 games...they shouldn't be in the playoffs and that's not being negative.
