The idea that two teams are going to hold a secret trade for over 24 hours in this environment is fantastic to me. If some white sox bloggers know it's done, there are LA dodgers bloggers that know its done, there would be friends of agents that know its done. It wouldn't survive the daylight if it was completed.

Wasn't Eloy announced around 10:30am? If it's not announced by sox by then, it's probably because it isn't done.

I think this is true, but it also underrates the effectiveness of even manufactured deadlines such as "complete prior to soxfest" in contract negotiations. Is it a huge influencer? No, but it could cause some extra focus to it prior from execs trying to clear their plate.

His baseball savant page is pretty weird. I'm not really sure why his ba is so low, his reduction in Ks has shown he barrels the ball less than before, but all of his expected production is basically in line. He gets pitched to low and away a ton, and barrels the fewest balls there, yet has some of his highest BA zones there too. I don’t think it’s ever been noticeable. Biggest example was everyone thinking swisher would be way better here but nope.

Pederson hit .245 + in his age 24 and 26 seasons, and had a lingering neck injury and concussion in 2017. His shortened age 22 and age 23 season had low averages and high Ks, but good OBP and decent power. He has progressed to cut his k rate substantially. I think focusing excessively on his BA is misguided.

Yeah it’s hard because a lot of those guys have their potential baked into their rankings. I hope Pilkington and Steiver have good years. Obviously Bush and Sosa are primed to legitimize last year. Id say biggest jumps are possible from Nunez and Zangari, and a good showing from Mendick could make him a real depth piece. Hopeful for guys like Guerrero, Coronado and K Sanchez to show a bit more statistically this year.
