  1. QUOTE(nitetrain8601 @ Aug 12, 2005 -> 08:56 PM) Tell me how Buehrle has faired in big games. This doesn't only date to this year. Look at last year when he gave up like 8 runs in the first against the Yankees at home. Who was the only one who loss against the Twins especially after having an early lead?? Oh yeah, that was Buehrle this year. Buehrle has choked against the A's and Red Sox as well not once, but twice(well the A's 3 times). Buehrle gets a pass for the same s*** Garland got flak for. Why was this a big game? Because it was the Red Sox?
  2. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Aug 12, 2005 -> 08:40 PM) Joe Borchard. ^
  3. QUOTE(Confederate_48 @ Aug 12, 2005 -> 08:48 PM) Jon Kitna ?? That's actually a pretty damn good idea.
  4. QUOTE(GBlum27 @ Aug 12, 2005 -> 08:47 PM) Yep I've now lost cuz... -we made a trade for Geoff f'in Blum -Syracuse lost by 3 -Rex got injured And the sox beat the tigers. That had to be your best bet yet. :headshake
  5. QUOTE(GBlum27 @ Aug 12, 2005 -> 08:46 PM) What a s***ty way to lose. You should stop making bets.
  6. QUOTE(AddisonStSox @ Aug 12, 2005 -> 08:41 PM) Testaverde remains the ONE AND ONLY successful quarterback out of the state of Florida. I dare someone to prove me wrong. Adrian Mcpherson?
  7. QUOTE(palesox38 @ Aug 12, 2005 -> 02:41 PM) I was just wondering if there were any Office fans out there. No, not the NBC version,(which was actually pleasantly surprising)but the original BBC version with Ricky Gervais. I'm having difficulty getting any of my friends into it, some like it, most don't. I always tell them that they have a hard time "respecting" the humor, as it is very subtle. I think alot of that has to do with the fact that American humor can be very obvious and over-the-top in a childish sort of way. That's possibly why one of my favorite shows, Arrested Development, isn't succesfull. Anyway, I was just wondering if any of the fans were out there. A few of my friends are absolutely in love with the show, I haven't got around to seeing it yet.
  8. QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Aug 12, 2005 -> 08:39 PM) I'll throw a name out for a veteran they could have some interest in; Vinny Testaverde Joe Borchard.
  9. QUOTE(Gene Honda Civic @ Aug 12, 2005 -> 08:33 PM) Mark Buehrle, staff ace, since July1. IP H R K BB RA/9 Mark Buehrle 52.0 65 34 23 12 5.88 I got a feeling the infamous Buehrle thread is going to be bumped soon.
  10. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Aug 12, 2005 -> 08:36 PM) What is his ERA? Has he had that many unearned runs? He had that game against KC where some how none of those runs were unearned.
  11. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Aug 12, 2005 -> 08:06 PM) If Schill drops a decent splitter here, aaron is toast. Or breaking ball, good sequence by schilling.
  12. If Schill drops a decent splitter here, aaron is toast.
  13. Fantastic, we get within one and will probably lose here.
  14. QUOTE(CYGarland @ Aug 12, 2005 -> 08:00 PM) Marte has mop up duty Since when?
  15. QUOTE(3 BeWareTheNewSox 5 @ Aug 12, 2005 -> 07:59 PM) I heard he has a changeup as well, either Farmio or AJ said it, but they said he doesn't need it as much (in their opinions) He does have a change but it sounds like he rarely used it in bham and just really doesn't need it much
  16. QUOTE(White Sox Josh @ Aug 12, 2005 -> 07:54 PM) yes but good hitters will be able to sit on the fastball. Good hitters have an easier time hitting a 98 MPH fastball than a 88 MPH fastball. That's why Buehrle has had such success. Jenks has an absolutely nasty curveball, trust me he doesn't need to add a change.
  17. QUOTE(White Sox Josh @ Aug 12, 2005 -> 07:52 PM) f***. 9-5. This is what is gonna happen if Jenks can't develop a changeup. Bobby doesn't need a change. He's got all the stuff he needs, as good as Bobby can and will be he is going to go through some growing pains this year and that's perfectly fine.
  18. QUOTE(CYGarland @ Aug 12, 2005 -> 07:49 PM) What good is he then?? For whatever reason he can't throw strikes to lefties, if anything he should be a right handed specialist.
  19. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Aug 12, 2005 -> 07:48 PM) We are 74-39. Plus I told you all it was going to be a weeknight, as it was obvious with our record and increases in attendance. The weekends and Mondays are going to be filled, obviously the team is trying to fill Tuesday-Thursday. This should have been no surprise. I would love to go, problem is I'm going to be at college already, it would be hard for me to get up there.
  20. QUOTE(CYGarland @ Aug 12, 2005 -> 07:47 PM) Marte should be our LH specialist. No, no he shouldn't.
  21. QUOTE(nitetrain8601 @ Aug 12, 2005 -> 07:40 PM) Freedom of speech. I still have a big thread that I'm making on the subject of Buehrle being overrated around these parts and facts supporting why he isn't a true ace. Mainly because he sucks in big games. Fantastic, I'm sure that'll be the worst thread soxtalk has ever seen.
  22. QUOTE(Flash Tizzle @ Aug 12, 2005 -> 07:39 PM) Why is it following every win someone can point out how our team is destined for greatness, but following a defeat, no one can criticize any facet of our ballclub without hearing someone use the same rhetoric (best record in baseball, etc). Oye ve, this is bull. After any loss everyone just freaks out not the other way around.
  23. Gio was awesome, 7 innings 0 runs, 3 hits, 1 walk and 5 k's.
  24. QUOTE(nitetrain8601 @ Aug 12, 2005 -> 07:23 PM) Whatever you do, don't get Game 1 Tix. Chances are Mark Buehrle will choke. My gawd, STFU.
