QUOTE(jasonxctf @ May 24, 2005 -> 03:54 PM) over the cheaper, better hitting, better fielding Joe Crede? Atleast 1/3 of this statement is correct.

QUOTE(chi-guy2 @ May 24, 2005 -> 03:12 PM) were f***ed, we cant hit santana, what makes us think well hit colon :headshake Ahh, what an intelligent post. -
QUOTE(qwerty @ May 24, 2005 -> 03:41 PM) Honel = nothing. I am sure they would like him. Honel is a non prospect at this point.

Chavez is an absolute stud and I'd love to have him. That being said I don't want to give up Bmac.

QUOTE(sec159row2 @ May 24, 2005 -> 01:44 PM) royce clayton??? Hated D'angelo more, his mental lapses were inexcusable and his mistakes on the basepaths were just ridiculous. I couldn't wait for Kenny to get rid of that fool.

QUOTE(Tannerfan @ May 24, 2005 -> 01:03 PM) I think your right about Ozuna as an every day player, but I like the idea of lighting fires under Crede's and Uribe's asses. Let them sit a stretch of games so they know they need to produce. Especially Crede who should have caught that great throw from Perez last night. Juan will be fine, he's just streaky, in the next week or so he'll probably get hot again.
-
I think we should get rid of Pods, Gooch, Buehrle, Garland, and Hermy.

I've never hated a player on the sox as much as I hated Jiminez.

QUOTE(AnthraxFan93 @ May 24, 2005 -> 12:26 PM) Only in Salary...Say NO to Polanco.. Say yes to Cabrera

He was our best hitter in April, period. Is this is a current slump he is in or is he reverting back to what he was last year, I just don't know, I'd like to give him another month to see which way it is.
-
QUOTE(Jabroni @ May 24, 2005 -> 12:08 PM) Not giving up on Cruddy? How many crappy seasons will it take for you to? It'll take more then 2 months for me to give up on him this year. He looked awesome the first month and right now he looks awful at the plate, doing the same s*** he did last year. I'm willing to give him some more time to see if he can come out of this funk he's in.

QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ May 24, 2005 -> 12:02 PM) I assumed he was, but lately I've seen everyone posting that he's a free agent so I just assumed I was wrong and that he doesn't have any more arb left. I'm about 95 percent sure he is arbitration eligible. Anyways, I'm not giving up on Joe yet but if kenny could land Polanco I'd be all for it.
-
QUOTE(quickman @ May 24, 2005 -> 12:00 PM) he is not arbitration eligble? He is I believe.

QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ May 24, 2005 -> 11:41 AM) The only reason he isn't ranked there is because of the whole age scenery. For whatever reason whan that happens very rarely do prospects get as much love in the books. I've seen Santana pitch more than a few times and the kid is a stud. He'd be the 2nd best prospects in the Sox system (in terms of pitching) and would definately give Brandon a run for his money (better pure stuff) but nowhere near the pitching prowess of Brandon (although Santana does have solid command and his changeup has only gotten better since those reports). His curveball last night was absolutely filthy.
-
Gawd, what the hell would this place be like if the sox were around .500, yeesh. Santana was absolutely nasty last night, he was 0-1 0-2 on every hitter, his curveball was absolutely filthy a big, quick breaker. He located his fastball beautifully all night. No team would have hit him he was just on his game. When it looked like we were going to score a run and maybe get something going, Juan Rivera was playing right on the line for some reason to take a double away from Carl. Santana just earned that victory last night, he was outstanding and I can definitely see why he's thought so highly of.

Nothing's a guarantee in baseball, that's part of what makes baseball such a great game.
-
What do you guys think of Cesar Carillo?? Obviously his record has been outstanding at Maimi, I haven't had the chance to watch him pitch yet so I'm wondering what you experts think of him and if anyone has a mini scouting report.

QUOTE(nitetrain8601 @ May 23, 2005 -> 04:17 PM) Give me Lidge. He's cheap and he wouldn't cost that much as people think. He probably would cost a Sweeney or Chris Young and Felix Diaz. I'd make that deal in a heartbeat. He definately wouldn't cost a BMAC and remember that the Sox have depth at OF in the minors. For Lidge I would do it. Lidge would cost an absolute s***load and he ain't going anywhere. Who's going to trade an absolute stud closer who isn't a free agent for a long time, just ain't going to happen.

Ozzie's handling of the bullpen definitely rubs me the wrong way at times but I love his managing style and I love his attitude, I'm happy we're keeping him around.
-
I've never seen Ervin pitch but I've only heard good things about him. Only the sox offense will be able to beat up on him a bit and hopefully Garland will just keep truckin, GO SOX!!!!!
-
It hit outside the basket, I'm almost positive. Remember after the ball bounced it went into the ivy and bounced out, if it hit in the basket it would be almost impossible for it to bounce out and hit the ivy.
-
To be honest I can't believe this is even being talked about. Almost every middle infielder tries the same exact thing Juan did, Lee fell for it and that's his fault. Pauly needs to keep his mouth shut cause he's wrong about this.

QUOTE(whitesoxin' @ May 22, 2005 -> 08:32 PM) That's awesome. Too bad I dished out a lot for an Ordonez 2003 All-Star Game jersey and now he sucks. I thought it would be great to have that jersey since I was at the game and it fell on my golden birthday. I had a chance to get either a Loaiza or Everett 03 allstar jersey before the beginning of last year, I got the Loaiza one even though Carl is one of my favorite players around because Esteban was still on the team and Carl was gone, woops

QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ May 22, 2005 -> 07:53 PM) Well, you made it seem like Durazo is bad at the plate. He's not a good fielder, but he's perfectly fine as a middle of the order hitter, whether you choose to recognize it or not. I've always been a fan of Durazo. I like his approach at the plate. He doesn't swing for the fences hits a lot of balls hard to left field. I like hitters who will go oppo every now and then instead of trying to drive the ball out of the park and Erubial does that a lot, he's a good hitter.

What moves,if any, should KW make at deadline?

QUOTE(qwerty @ May 22, 2005 -> 07:45 PM) People need to understand that teams don't trade young, cheap, and talented players for no f***ing reason. Umm.....it is for a reason, to help us out.
