Alright one scores, just limit the damage Jon.
-
QUOTE(Jabroni @ May 29, 2005 -> 12:35 PM) Are you nuts? Why not? Cause Crede has more trade value then randa, no doubt about that.
-
Here's where Jon has changed and can maybe limit texas to one run. EDIT: By the way I was typing that before that out, just to make that clear.
-
Wow, two jam shots and the sox are in trouble.
-
QUOTE(Brian @ May 29, 2005 -> 12:30 PM) What is everyon'es obsession with Randa? Has he done anything spectacular since the calendar turned to May? He doesn't do anything spectacular he's just a good, solid, professional hitter. Joe will hit .270 and will get the big knock when you need him to.
-
That was a good pitch by Chan Ho right there. Going to the bottom of the 2nd.
-
QUOTE(Tony82087 @ May 29, 2005 -> 12:27 PM) Rowand got a raw deal on that last pitch, I think that was a BB. Looked like a strike to me, jmo.

Sox catch a break, arow strikes out but Barajas throws the ball into center.

QUOTE(fathom @ May 29, 2005 -> 12:24 PM) Dye has a lot more flexibility in his swing. Earlier this year, he was standing straight up when he would swing, and had no chance at the low, outside pitch. The low outside breaking ball has been the problem for most of our right handed hitters this year. That's what happens when you're cheating and your hips fly open to try and pull the ball.
-
That a boy Jermaine, stayed right on the ball, didn't fly open and delivers the breaking ball into left field, nice piece of hitting.

QUOTE(fathom @ May 29, 2005 -> 12:20 PM) This isn't directed at you, but that thinking by Ozzie is so stupid. Everett's done nothing to justify being moved up in the order. Everett's been the rally killer for 2 months now. Fathom, we agree on something Carl's been slumping and Aaron was looking great in that 3 hole, not to mention the offense looked to be clicking, come to think of it this recent funk started right when Aaron was taken out of that spot.

QUOTE(Jabroni @ May 29, 2005 -> 12:18 PM) Garland = groundball master Dare I say the meister of the groundball Ah Hawk, how I miss you.
-
QUOTE(Brian @ May 29, 2005 -> 12:08 PM) Why did Ozzie take Rowand out of the 3 hole? Not sure if it was discussed. His average went up since his move there. That's a good question, I would have liked to keep him there too. The offense was producing better with Aaron there, I guess he wanted to move Carl back up to the 3 spot though.

Ahh, this is going to be a fun game thread. Anytime someone gets out there is going to be some kind of complaining.

QUOTE(Jabroni @ May 29, 2005 -> 12:10 PM) Pods is supposed to keep the ball on the ground or low liners. Ok, well he got a pitch up and hit it hard, unfortunately it was just right to center field.
-
QUOTE(Jabroni @ May 29, 2005 -> 12:07 PM) Pods, please stop hitting liners/flyball to the CF'er. 1 out. Getting mad at the guy for crushing a ball??

QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ May 29, 2005 -> 02:31 AM) Actually Willie had a pretty solid OBP last year. It wasn't amazing but people expected Willie to come into the majors, hit .300 and carry this team as a guy playing in his first full major league season from the top of the lineup last year. It was freaking pathetic to see so many people down on the kid. The guy plays hard and is such an underrated defender. He should steal more bases, but that will come with time and I still say if he's given an opportunity here or somewhere else to start, he's gonna turn into one of the better top of the order guys in the biz. But people had to write him off after one year and somehow Crede gets like 4 years. I'l l never know, but I know one thing Willie had 100 times more pressure than Crede ever had considering he was forced right into the leadoff spot of a team expected to compete. The two things that bothered me most about willie last year were his ability to get down bunts and his base stealing ability. He's still scared and nervous out there on the bases but he's become a 10 time better bunter then he was last year. I've been very happy with willie this year, I agree if he gets a shot he's going to be a solid player.

QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ May 29, 2005 -> 02:28 AM) Damn right, he's one of my favorite players. it will be good to get the Gload of last year back. He was clutch for the Sox and is definately an Ozzie type of player. Can't wait till he's in the lineup cause if he plays like he did last year, Everett should be relegated to pinch hitter duties. As much as I don't want to see Ross in the outfield if Dye and Everett continue to struggle it might be worth a shot to throw him out there. I mean he hasn't played out there much so maybe if he gets some PT out there he'll become more effective out there. All I know is if Carl and Jermaine don't start to hit we're going to need ross's bat in the lineup.

QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ May 29, 2005 -> 11:04 AM) Maybe the Sox should do the same thing to him as the Twins did to Santana. Send him back to the minors and tell him to throw the changeup constantly and hone it. Imagine that? In ST he was using that pitch very effectively but for some reason he seemed reluctant to use it in his two starts. His change actually has some pretty good movement and he gives a good motion with it, he definitely should use it more.

QUOTE(Kalapse @ May 29, 2005 -> 10:19 AM) Coulda fooled me. Joe Randa's Avg. By month for career: April - .259 May - .281 June - .292 July - .285 Aug - .282 Sept - .316 It looks to me like he starts off very slow, gets real hot going inot June then stays solid for July and August and then finishes ridiculously hot in September. Joe's a good hitter, I'd love to have him. Always comes up with the big hit.

QUOTE(Palehosefan @ May 29, 2005 -> 01:06 AM) I'm sorry Dan but I'm not sure what you mean. Punch has the 1st pick of the draft, then again its 2 AM in the morning and maybe I'm just missing something here. Ha, I thought the same thing, good, it's not just me.
-
Since everyone is giving their opinion on who they'd like the sox to draft I really want Carillo now. He seems like he has a supurb head on his shoulders and I love the fact that through his collegiate career he's had excellent control. I'm really hoping this is the guy the sox brass decides to draft, jmo. I know most scouts don't think he has a super high ceiling but most guys who don't have dynamite stuff probably won't have real high ceilings according to scouts. However if you have the mental makeup and control then you have just as good a chance to be a stud as a stuff pitcher.
-
I really, really, really, really, really wish I could go to the game on Monday unfortunately I got some dumb family dinner so I have to settle for Tuesday, can't wait to see Frank back in the lineup.
-
I'll do it, you can pick me a team.

QUOTE(Tony82087 @ May 28, 2005 -> 11:38 AM) Were at 31-16, not 16-31. Just thought I would clear that up. I think some people are forgetting that, though we're 33 and 16 just to clear that up . A shake would be the worst possible thing, that doesn't send a very good message that's for sure.
