  1. QUOTE(Beastly @ May 30, 2005 -> 09:51 AM) They've found him out...its that simple. Actually that's not it at all. Shingo just doesn't have the control he did last year, this year his frisbee isn't even close to the strike zone when last year it was atleast enticing when missing the zone, last year he located his fastball beautifully on the corners this year he can't do that either. Shingo's problem is his control no doubt about that. I personally think it'd be stupid to trade Shingo, first off and most importantly he won't net us any value so it's pointless considering it might effect Iguchi's performance and effect our chances at bringing in more Japanese talent.
  2. QUOTE(beck72 @ May 30, 2005 -> 09:53 AM) I too think they are options. At least until the sox can make a trade closer to the trade deadline. [if the sox can swing a deal before then, so much the better] Besides kenny being aggressive we always know he's the one that usually gets the trading started, if he needs to he'll probably be the first one to make a big deal, think sometime in June ala the Freddy trade last year.
  3. QUOTE(danman31 @ May 30, 2005 -> 02:21 AM) All that I can tell from his numbers is that he is a high risk/high potential prospect. That's exactly what it tells me. He's obviously got exceptional tools and has a chance to be a star, that being said he has a lot to work on and can be a complete bust, only time will tell.
  4. QUOTE(BobDylan @ May 29, 2005 -> 09:25 PM) Neither are an option if we plan on going far, if you ask me. Not at this juncture, anyway. I think both are actually options, I'd prefer Baj get a chance first just because I really think Jenks has a chance to be special in the closers role but a few bad outings can go along way in messing up his head and we don't need that again. The thing is, we have cliff, dustin and damaso for the 7th inning on, we just need someone to step up and add some depth to most likely take over for Viz if he continues to struggle.
  5. QUOTE(Jabroni @ May 30, 2005 -> 12:19 AM) MLB Minnesota Twins Team Stats: .267 team AVG (ranked 25th in MLB) .335 team OBP (ranked 23rd in MLB) .402 team SLG (ranked 24th in MLB) Big difference. And they're averaging 4.53 runs per game and the sox are averaging 4.46 a game, huge difference, huh?
  6. QUOTE(Leonard Zelig @ May 30, 2005 -> 12:11 AM) Anybody know when Duque is supposed to pitch? Friday.
  7. QUOTE(Whitesoxfan56 @ May 29, 2005 -> 09:53 PM) So how many people do you think will be at the game? I am thinking sellout or close to it,35,000, but my friend says he doesnt think it will be even close, only about 30,000. What do you guys think? I wish I could be there but prior family commitment won't let me I'll be there tuesday though.
  8. QUOTE(nitetrain8601 @ May 30, 2005 -> 12:12 AM) Designated Matt Herges for assignment. I would tell the Sox to pick him up, but he was one of the pricks on SF that didn't like AJ. Ya, that wouldn't be good for team chemistry.
  9. QUOTE(Jabroni @ May 30, 2005 -> 12:08 AM) MLB Sortable Team Stats: .251 team AVG (ranked 25th in MLB) .317 team OBP (ranked 23rd in MLB) .398 team SLG (ranked 24th in MLB) By the way, these numbers have been low for the entire season. They didn't just get horrible because of the past week or so. I don't care what those stats say. I care about how many runs they score and before this week they were 11th in runs scored and were scoring 4-5 runs consistantly. Nothing pretty but enough runs to win games and that's all that matters ala exactly what Minny has done, the goal coming into the season was to try and be more like the Twins and before this last week it's been working perfectly.
  10. QUOTE(Jabroni @ May 29, 2005 -> 11:57 PM) Our offense right now is pathetic and it's a joke when people try to deny it. Yup, they've been pathetic for a week, before that not pathetic actually doing exactly what we expected them to do coming into this year. Actually before this recent stretch they were 11th in baseball in runs scored but hell lets give up on them after 1 week. Not to mention it doesn't help when you face maddux, zambrano, prior, santana, colon, Washburn, Lackey, Young, who are all pretty good pitchers. I personally am going to give the O more then one week to tear them to shreds. Hell, in years past our offense would fall for half the games but score 10 the other half. The offense will be fine but if you want to bash anything and everything well I guess that's your choice but it's beyond ridiculous at times.
  11. The offense has been terrible this past week absolutely no arguing that. However before this stretch they weren't doing that bad at all and I don't give a s*** what the individual batting averages say. They were doing everything they were suppost to do, smart ball if you will since I know most of you hate hearing that. Anyways, we were getting every single big hit, scoring 4 to 5 runs a game which was enough to win with our pitching, score runs in the 7th and 8th, take the lead and shut it down with the backend of our pen, just like the twins have done for 3 straight years. We wanted to be more like the twins and before this week that's exactly how it's been. By the way the twins have gone into hitting slumps too but they don't last extremely long because of the ability to manufacture runs. I think some of you guys have missed the 12 run games but guess what that's not going to happen more so get over it.
  12. Guys everyone on this team f***in sucks. We lost 3 in a row. 3, can you believe this s***, I want kenny and ozzie both fired, we lost 3 f***in games in a row. This team absolutely f***in sucks, a 3 game losing streak, my god this has to be the longest f***in losing streak in major league history. I want this team torn up I don't give a s*** what we get in return for these f***in losers, a 3 game losing streak is unacceptable and this 33 and 17 record is absolutely f***in pathetic.
  13. Wes getting back into the swing of things in his 2nd start since coming back from injury he went 7 innings today giving up 1 run(0 earned), 1 walk and 5 k's. His era dipped to 2.73 after today's performance.
  14. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ May 29, 2005 -> 01:52 PM) I don't, right move no doubt. Well I was wrong.
  15. QUOTE(Tadahito15 @ May 29, 2005 -> 01:52 PM) I have a bad feeling about leaving in Jon..... I don't, right move no doubt.
  16. Broken bat flare for Alf, 1st and 3rd, 2 out for big head.
  17. Texas threatening, time for Jon to limit the damage again, roll up Teixiera.
  18. Jabroni go take another shower, this team is better with you gone
  19. Did rogo get hit with a fastball or an offspeed pitch?
  20. QUOTE(fathom @ May 29, 2005 -> 01:27 PM) Ah, we're back to disagreeing! That's more like it You knew it couldn't last fathom.
  21. QUOTE(fathom @ May 29, 2005 -> 01:09 PM) He's really having a rough time at the plate in terms of making solid contact. His bat seems to be dragging through the zone big time. Actually he's been making solid contact a lot lately just not getting a whole bunch of hits.
  22. QUOTE(WHarris1 @ May 29, 2005 -> 12:38 PM) Not the best approach when we can't score for f***ing s***. If you can limit texas to one run after having them hit 2 balls very softly and having 2nd and 3rd with nobody out then you did a very good job.
