    QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ May 1, 2005 -> 08:33 AM) So in reality, Willie and Scotty have been awesome in doing their jobs of getting on base. Tadahito has taken over the 2004 job of Willie for getting 3 hits in one game, and then going 0 fer the next two games. Also it is impressive to see Crede so high on that list, for a guy who never walks. I'd say that's kind of expected for Iguchi just cause of the learning experience, I think as the year goes on he'll have less and less of those. Willie and Scott have both been very good so far, Willie's filled in very nicely when he's had to and Scott keeps getting on base even if he's not hitting he's been taking a lot of walks. Kudos to both of them so far.
  2. QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Apr 30, 2005 -> 05:00 PM) That's a dumb stat. Sorry, but it is. Cool.
  3. The sox are 3 and 0 this year when Timo's had 4 at bats in a game, just thought I'd add that. I'm going to watch the game, b**** at me all you want about Timo.
  4. QUOTE(letsgoarow @ Apr 30, 2005 -> 04:52 PM) Please tell me there is someone better to put in the field. Dye is a good player he is just slumping right now, we should let him fight through it, an send timo to single A Kannnapolis. This thread can go to hell.
  5. QUOTE(santo=dorf @ Apr 30, 2005 -> 04:49 PM) NUKE, I was agreeing with you. I was sick of hearing the "experts" and some posters here whine about our team OBP and our ability to draw walks while we were on an 8 game win streak. "Don't tell me what you hit, tell when you hit." Santo, I am completely with you on this one. This team has gone passive the past few games and in part are drawing more walks but not driving in the big run. I don't give a s*** how much they're on base as long as they're scoring some runs.
  6. QUOTE(NUKE_CLEVELAND @ Apr 30, 2005 -> 04:24 PM) Swinging the bat well? He had 1 hit and it should have been caught. How many rallies does Dead have to kill before people stop defending him? Lets see he hit that double pretty hard whether it should have been caught or not, he just missed hitting a ball out to left field, and that comebacker he hit to farnsworth was hit real hard.
  7. Willie's still in the lineup, Jermaine swings the bat pretty well last night and gets put on the bench tonight: lf pods 2b iguchi dh everett 1b konerko rf perez cf rowand c pierzynski 3b crede ss harris
  8. QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Apr 30, 2005 -> 03:35 PM) And, like Gene said, it wasn't really out in the open that Ross had an injury. If I would have known, I wouldn't have b****ed about it. Sorry to Ozzie. Timo still sucks, either way. And Jim, the way our offense is going right now, we can't afford to have an easy out anywhere in the lineup. Was Lopez even hitting at Charlotte? I don't care if he's a better shortstop than Harris defensively, we need offense. Lopez was hitting under .200 at Charlotte.
  9. QUOTE(Heads22 @ Apr 30, 2005 -> 03:20 PM) How's that for a comparison? Scary.
  10. QUOTE(JimH @ Apr 30, 2005 -> 03:07 PM) Gload has had a bad left shoulder for almost a week, can we take a pass on all the conspiracy theories please. Farmer said a couple of nights ago it was really tough for Gload to swing a bat or throw. He hasn't been playing so this move makes sense. Let him get 100% healthy. So now the backup 1B is Widger/Ozuna/Dye/Everett/whoever else. Jim, I never heard that, so that's why it definitely sounded fishy to me. Sorry about throwing a conspiracy theory out there.
  11. QUOTE(JimH @ Apr 30, 2005 -> 02:51 PM) Just posted on the official site. Gload to the 15 day DL, Pedro Lopez recalled. I'm betting Lopez will play SS tonite. When did Ross get hurt?? Is this just something to get another middle infielder up? Probably.
  12. QUOTE(qwerty @ Apr 30, 2005 -> 02:42 PM) Hernandez+our park+tigers = bad. We'll see, he'll throw a good game.
  13. QUOTE(Punch and Judy Garland @ Apr 30, 2005 -> 02:22 PM) It's definitely not a must win but things are only going to get uglier round these parts if we lose a home series to detroit. No doubt about that.
  14. QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Apr 30, 2005 -> 02:17 PM) If I got hit that hard by KC I would retire. You couldn't get hit that hard by KC if you tried.
  15. QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Apr 30, 2005 -> 01:53 PM) And in other news, the Royals are up 9-1 on the Tribe in the bottom of the ninth. Finish 'em off, Royals! Cliff Lee got hit hard again.
  16. QUOTE(Jeckle2000 @ Apr 30, 2005 -> 01:31 PM) When exactly does it become a must win? Four in a row? Five? The longer this losing streak goes the less likely we make the playoffs. This IS a must win! We're in first place, we got the best record in the al, I don't think you can declare this a must win. It's a big game right now but I agree with heads.
  17. QUOTE(Gene Honda Civic @ Apr 29, 2005 -> 10:32 PM) Clutch. /that is all. Ya, first time he hasn't come through in that type of situation as a member of the sox, lets crucify him. If he got a hit or a sac fly which he normally does you probably would have pointed out his obp or something, Timo can't win around here no matter what he does.
  18. QUOTE(witesoxfan @ Apr 29, 2005 -> 06:02 PM) OMG ASLKDJFUREOIASJDFLK;QUJEWIOMNRLKASHNKLVZXUCJOIFJQ24 HOW MUCH WHERE DO I SIGN?!?!?! LOL, ok so I am not that into it...but man, TMNT were the s*** back in the day. I almost want to go play with them now On a completely unrelated note, yet somehow worthy, I think we need a smiley of someone just flipping out...for this particular reason. TMNT rocked, period.
  19. The sox will win this series. Book it. Orlando and Jon are going to throw gems. The offense will wake up.
  20. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Apr 29, 2005 -> 10:48 PM) Just to alleviate the 3 losses in a row, how about we all talk about our favorite teams of the past. Mine would have to be that 2000 club. No team have I ever loved so much. The team I thought had the most talent....2 yrs club with Colon,Elo and Buehrle...WOWZERS that was a staff. As of right now I got to say the 2000 team but I'm definitely falling in love with this years team though. I can't stand to think of that 03 team, it still hurts me. If they got in the playoffs they would have been playing the Marlins in the world series.
  21. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Apr 29, 2005 -> 10:45 PM) Thats it...I'm ensuring a White Sox win tomorrow. Mark my words...they will win and end this losing streak. GO WHITE SOX
  22. Well....last time I make a game thread.
  23. QUOTE(Punch and Judy Garland @ Apr 29, 2005 -> 10:34 PM) I think the only superior teams in baseball are the Cardinals and Red Sox and everyone else is not in a position to say that White Sox> Red Sox.
  24. QUOTE(fathom @ Apr 29, 2005 -> 10:24 PM) and do you really think that's a superior team? Yes.
  25. QUOTE(WilliamTell @ Apr 29, 2005 -> 10:23 PM) I really should just relax. I'm overjoyed when the White Sox win, but I'm in a terrible mood when the Sox lose and it's that way until they start to play again. You don't have to explain that to me, I'm exactly that way but I've learned to keep things in perspective more then I used to. I've believed in this team since day 1, I think they're a great team, they're going to be in it all year and have a great shot to win this division or get in via the wildcard, no doubt in my mind. Wouldn't surprise me one bit if they could get in the playoffs and then advance, this is a very good baseball team. They'll be absolutely fine.
