QUOTE(hammerhead johnson @ May 1, 2005 -> 09:17 PM) Hmmm, I thought that Zack was the Royals ace? From ace to 5th starter...that blows. Kevin Brown has to be ahead of Wright, no? The others sound right. I know that the Twins have a rookie in the 5th spot right now...I forget his name. It ain't Mays. Actually Mays is back. Oh yeah and Greinke is their ace, period.

QUOTE(KWs OK for Me @ May 1, 2005 -> 09:11 PM) I think JG is a 20 game winner for one reason, he is in the 5 hole, he matches up against 5th starters (for the most part). Here is a list of the fifth starters in the AL: Kevin Gregg, Joe Blanton, Dave Bush, Hideo Nomo, Scott Elarton, Ryan Franklin, Bruce Chen, Pedro Astacio, Bronson Arroyo, Zach Greinke,Wilfredo Ledezma, Joe Mays, Kevin Brown I know that I'd take Garland in any game over any of those guys. If he continues to throw strikes, get the ground ball outs, and continue to limit his walks I dont see why he can't be a 20 game winner this year I don't necessarily agree with that. I'd say he's as likely to matchup with an ace as he is to with a 5th starter later on in the year. Jon's a different pitcher this year, all the sudden his sinker is just moving all over the freakin place, he's using his changeup well and he's just more confident then he's ever been. Jon's going to win us a lot of game this year.

QUOTE(witesoxfan @ May 1, 2005 -> 09:08 PM) I guess Pablo's alright Pablo's impressed me so much already this year, he seems to do everything right. He can hit, he can run and he can field. He's a good player.

QUOTE(witesoxfan @ May 1, 2005 -> 09:07 PM) Impossible with only 137 games left Yeah, especially when we only play them 14 more times this year.

QUOTE(witesoxfan @ May 1, 2005 -> 08:34 PM) With our depth, or lack thereof, in the middle infield, and our lack of a true utility IFer, we will still have some interest in him. We don't need a move, because we have all kinds of guys that can play that...but why have 2 guys that play 4 positions when you can have 1 guy that plays all 4? That is an extra roster spot that could become needed. Pablo. Honestly, right now there isn't much to mess with on this team, I think Frank Thomas might be our big move this year, honestly. Obviously injuries can and will happen but there is a lot of depth everywhere to get through something like that happening.

QUOTE(Punch and Judy Garland @ May 1, 2005 -> 08:11 PM) not drafted, from Mexico Riiiight. I don't know what the hell I was thinking I think I was thinking of Ritchie who I believe was a first or 2nd rounder

QUOTE(SEALgep @ May 1, 2005 -> 08:11 PM) From cbssportsline Arizona Diamondbacks Updated:04/29/2005 Diamondbacks infielder Alex Cintron is drawing serious interest from the Cubs, according to Chicago's Daily Herald and the newspaper speculates the White Sox could get interested as well. Ha, they speculate we could get interested

QUOTE(shagar69 @ May 1, 2005 -> 08:03 PM) nah, theyre nothin alike. Loaiza was known has a 4 or 5 starter and just came outta nowhere, while JG was always supposed to be this kind of pitcher which is why he was a first round draft choice. I'm pretty sure Esteban was a first rounder too but I'm not sure on that. He had high expectations also coming into the league but when he came here he was supposed to be our number 5 guy. Well, Jon's supposed to be our 5th guy too so I guess at first glance there are a couple similarities. Jon has a long way to go but as of right now he's been unreal.

QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ May 1, 2005 -> 07:08 PM) Yes! I love this show. And, while the older episodes airing on Cartoon Network and TBS were still funny, it's good to see some new episodes come out. YES!

QUOTE(JimH @ May 1, 2005 -> 04:21 PM) This is a good post and something that should be talked about. They faced adversity, including the disaster which was Friday nite. Of course, in addition to the last two games in Oakland which could've gone either way. There is not a team in baseball who won't face adversity. It was mentioned the last loss in Oakland might galvanize the team and bring them together. The win today was a good example of a confident team willing to sacrifice their own stats for a win. 2 out of 3, a sweep would've been nice, but not bad. This team has a good thing going. The big difference from past years is, the "good thing" is being led by the pitching staff. Feel good, Sox fans. Don't be overconfident, Minnesota has a very good team. Cleveland will make some noise and Detroit will hang around, they are better than in past years. I am also convinced the White Sox are a better team than in years past too. Emphasis on team. Jim, I respectfully disagree with you here. I think the Sox and Twins are going to just run away from the rest of the division, I just think both teams are far better then Detroit and Cleveland. It's going to be a dog fight to the end between the Sox and Minny, there is also a decent chance that the Sox or Twins could win the wildcard, they might be the two best teams in the American League this year. I know I'm going to take some criticism for that comment but I honestly think that might be the case this year.

He just took detroit's bats turned them sideways and stuck them straight up their candy asses Detroit is one of the better hitting teams in baseball, Jon's been awesome, period. EDIT: By the way that was my best Rock impersonation. -

QUOTE(jackie hayes @ May 1, 2005 -> 03:44 PM) WOW. Jon is our MVP to this point. The pitching as a whole, unbelievable. 6 runs at the cell in a series vs. the Tigers, that's something special.

Jon was simply magnificent. I guess the offense got out of that dreaded 2 and a half game slump.
