  1. Man, Pauly's just pulling off everything. He's got to think rf, and if he misses well maybe he'll move a runner or both over.
  2. QUOTE(sox-r-us @ Apr 29, 2005 -> 09:27 PM) Why is Ozuna running for Carl? It is not like we are going to win even if we get one run in :banghead Carl is the only one who could hit the ball well on this team right now Um, he's the winning run.
  3. QUOTE(DonkeyKongerko @ Apr 29, 2005 -> 09:26 PM) Four pitch walk? Wow. Paulie ain't bunting, he'll be swinging for the downs. I just don't feel good about Pauly right here, think he's gonna ground into a dp or pop out to the ss. Prove me wrong Pauly.
  4. I'd turn Carl loose but I'm prolly the only one.
  5. QUOTE(greasywheels121 @ Apr 29, 2005 -> 09:22 PM) Hawk is such an old man..... It's so hard, cause you can't see where the ball really is from that angle and hawk gets you so excited.
  6. QUOTE(Jabroni @ Apr 29, 2005 -> 09:20 PM) But at least they have a chance of hitting the ball out. I could hit a ball out of US Cellular.
  7. It would be awesome to see Corwin get back on the map, chances are that's not going to happen but you never know.
  8. QUOTE(3E8 @ Apr 29, 2005 -> 10:41 AM) Wow, Garland is on the front page of epsn.com. Below him is an article written by Neyer about why we won't win the AL Central. Neyer confuses me. Didn't he write an article in like February that bashed the sox and then last month picked them to win the division. Now he writes an article about why they won't win it. I'm confused.
  9. Good research there Thom. I like all 3 guys you mentioned, Volstad really intrigues me because he's a sinker baller and has good control.
  10. The game won't be rained out atleast I highly doubt it but there could be a rain delay or two. I hope the rain holds up though, a wet mound doesn't sound like the best thing for a guy with a tender hammy.
  11. Attendance will be fine this year, there's no need to complain about it every time there isn't a huge crowd. I really wish I could go tonight but unfortunately I have no money and until school gets out I'm going to just have to stick to the games I already have tickets for in my ozzie plan.
  12. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Apr 29, 2005 -> 07:07 AM) Yeah, I can fix the service around here... I guarentee you'll never complain again AFTER I BAN YOUR ASS!!!! Pssh.......I'm not afraid of you :sleep
  13. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Apr 29, 2005 -> 06:59 AM) I wouldn't be so sure of that, especially as we get to the trading deadline. JR went on the air a while back and said that there is still money in the budget. Plus if we can keep winning and increase the attendance, we will add someone, just like we have for years now. Lets not forget that payroll has gone up 50% from the end of 2002 until today, and JR has always added players for a team in contention. Agreed. There is no doubt if the sox need to open the wallet sometime this year they'll do it and if this team needs to make a deal you know kenny will.
  14. QUOTE(Punch and Judy Garland @ Apr 29, 2005 -> 12:18 AM) I will be in the vast minorty around these parts but I think I'll pass on the Sox game Friday to watch this dream match. I'll only be putting that game on during commercials of the sox game but that should be a fun one to watch.
  15. Sox back home after a very good road trip sending Contreras to the mound. Tigers sending Robertson out there, the Tigers have won 4 in a row since being swept in that 2 game series to the sox. It's going to be a pretty cold-rainy night, Go get 'em Jose Hey 2k5 or cap one of you guys want to pin my first gamethread?? Gosh the service around here sucks.
  16. QUOTE(greg775 @ Apr 28, 2005 -> 10:43 PM) How's Borchard doing in the minors? I'm too lazy to look it up. I say give rf to Joe B!! He can't hit any worse than Dye and when he connects it'll be a 500 foot bomb. You might wanna check those stats for borch, ain't pretty.
  17. QUOTE(Punch and Judy Garland @ Apr 28, 2005 -> 10:06 PM) Ugh. Weren't those 1-0 Esty losses there? I think part of our problem is that Comerica is tought ot jack homers out of so maybe this team will do better with the gapes there, although Maggs and Frank were great gap hitters so it's hard to say. Definitely no Jurassic in the OF allowed Ya, the series starting tomorrow is at the cell though. This current team is much better equipted to win at comerica for reasons you stated, I actually think they'll play real good ball there this year.
  18. QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Apr 28, 2005 -> 10:14 PM) Because, it's a good discussion. Don't like it, no need to enter the thread. The Sox don't have to pay a second round pick or a supplamental pick, unlike the past two years, where they've had to spread the money out between the first round picks (Anderson and Fields) and the supplemental picks (Sweeney/Gonzalez/Whistler or Lumsden -- one of the two was a supp, IIRC). The kid's a top ten talent -- IMHO. We can really use some guys up the middle. Why not? I believe Gio and Tyler were supplemental's, I know for a fact gio is don't quote me on lumsden though. I completely agree with you here keith, to me down at 15 and get a talent like drew when we don't have a boatload of early picks like last year would be outstanding imo.
  19. QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Apr 28, 2005 -> 07:05 PM) There's also a reliever who's slowly moving up the charts (if he hasn't already) in Josh Fields -- and not the Josh Fields of last year's first round. Dan, what does Fields throw again (pitches)? Ahem, he said OFFENSIVELY
  20. QUOTE(Capn12 @ Apr 28, 2005 -> 07:01 PM) I don't keep up with the minors anywhere close as much as I used to in teh 90s, but do we have anything worth noting offensively in Charlotte right now besides Anderson? Also: Player IP H R ER BB SO HR ERA Person 3.2 7 8 8 3 4 4 19.64 OUCH LTP and Norton For me, I'm waiting for Lopez to wake his ass up.
  21. QUOTE(danman31 @ Apr 28, 2005 -> 06:56 PM) Person got owned in his Charlotte debut tonight. Box Score Honel 3 IP, 3 R so far. He is toast. Young and Aceves have HR'd. Box Score Dizard struggled in his 1st start, Bakker rocked out of the pen.Box Score Lucas Harrell with 7 shutout innings so far for Kanny. Ricks has drawn 3 walks. He has more walks than hits this season, lol. Box Score Ugh, it's real sad to see Kris fall this far but I agree he's toast, unfortunately.
  22. QUOTE(Jabroni @ Apr 28, 2005 -> 06:47 PM) I know. The guy doesn't even move when he's about to get plowed. He just tries to finish off the DP. Scary. This is something I have no clue if it's really true but maybe in Japan the players don't go into 2nd base hard so he's not used to avoiding players down there?
  23. QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Apr 28, 2005 -> 06:50 PM) You--> Pssh, we'll see about that once I move into your basement.
  24. QUOTE(danman31 @ Apr 28, 2005 -> 06:48 PM) He's not worth the price tag along with the risk that he won't sign until late anyway. Besides, I doubt JR will ever spend a load of money on a draft pick after Borchard, and I can't blame him. You don't need to spend loads of dollars to be successful in the draft. The Sox look like they drafted rather well with their pitchers last year, but it is still quite early. Fair enough.
