  1. I was never interested in Brock-Rock even when those were the rumors last year.
  2. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Aug 18, 2014 -> 12:28 PM) You have to wonder who is going to be the one chosen to go against Lesnar as the giant killer. To me, there is two options, Bryan and Punk. Bryans injury issues are not good, and Punk makes too much sense, he has beef with The Authority and with Heyman. Its really too bad that they drove Punk straight into the ground. I don't think there's any doubt that they want to give the ball to Reigns at WM31 by beating Lesnar. But I also think there's a decent possibility that if Reigns continues to struggle in one on one's and because of that has the crowd start to turn on him a bit(he really didn't seem as over in LA last night) then they'll switch their move to Bryan. Punk is a pipe dream at this point. After what him and Brock did last year at SS and the built in story, it'd be absolutely amazing but not happening.
  3. QUOTE (raBBit @ Aug 18, 2014 -> 01:19 PM) Not only is that a terribly small sample size, I don't know that it's true. De Aza's 3 HRs would have elevated his stats to at least respectable in the first three week. I remember him sucking after the first series but the HRs will still propel the stats. Garcia went down in what I think was the third series of the year. Probably the 8th or 9th game. So I doubt the FO is going to base De Aza's ability to come off the bench off of that little span of time. I don't think De Aza would be a bad option as a 4th outfielder but it seems they have had about their fill with De Aza. I sure hope, at the least, Viciedo is moved this winter as for some reason he still has some value. Ya, he's never really been in a platoon this year. I honestly wouldn't be mad if we tendered him a contract or if he we non-tendered him. I'd be fine with either scenario.
  4. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Aug 18, 2014 -> 12:02 PM) WWE posting pics of HHH congratulating Lesnar and Heyman, and a seperate tweet from HHH "Love it when a plan comes together". Interesting that they would (seemingly) bring Lesnar into the authority. Also, apparently Vince is not down with Bo Dallas, doesnt like the character. Bo-lievers, better start bo-lieving a little bit more Well Brock was "Plan C" to get the title off Cena. Because HHH is actually part of the IWC and didn't want Cena as champion. I heard the same thing about Bo and I'm sad.
  5. QUOTE (Jake @ Aug 18, 2014 -> 09:18 AM) Honest question - if a policeman is in need of defending his or herself, but doesn't necessarily feel that fatal force will be used against them, are they instructed to shoot to injure rather than to kill? I understand from shooting pistols that this is no easy feat, but neither is shooting someone straight in the chest/head. Nope. Only deadly force. I still think there's going to be a lot more that comes out about this case, we're missing a lot of details still I believe.
  6. If the plan is for Brock to drop it at 31 you basically have 3 options: Reigns, Bryan and Ambrose. Or they could make the payoff even more epic and have Brock just destroy everyone until Mania 32.
  7. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Aug 17, 2014 -> 09:57 PM) You know who it's going to be The plan has obviously been for it to be Reigns but if he's still struggling in a few months in singles matches things might change. Should be fun to see where this all goes.
  8. Holy f*** Cena just got squashed!
  9. Brock time. Got my riot gear ready.
  10. That match was much better than I thought it could be.
  11. QUOTE (Brian @ Aug 17, 2014 -> 08:30 PM) WWE should hire Noelle Foley She's an intern isn't she? And leave it to Jericho to put over Bray clean.
  12. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Aug 17, 2014 -> 08:17 PM) Whaaaaa That was a moty candidate I wouldn't go that far.
  13. QUOTE (Soxfest @ Aug 17, 2014 -> 08:14 PM) Very lame ending to Ambrose/Rollins..............after not delivering match at Battleground this is thumb down. Keeps the feud going. We'll get a few more ppv matches from them which makes me a happy Rowand.
  14. Ambrose and Rollins are just the bestest. And I somehow have 0 interest in Jericho-Wyatt.
  15. America just got f***ed up.
  16. QUOTE (Jake @ Aug 17, 2014 -> 02:10 PM) The fact that we got the best player in the draft at 3 tells you all you need to know about the entire process. Higher pick isn't always better. We didn't need to lose more than HOU or FLA to get Rodon. The Angels didn't need to miss the playoffs to get Mike Trout. Do your best on the field and do your best with your pick. And if we didn't lose a couple more games than the Cubs then we wouldn't have got Rodon. The number 1 pick isn't always going to be the best player in the draft but I'm always going to want my choice of player if possible.
  17. QUOTE (bmags @ Aug 17, 2014 -> 11:01 AM) Went to game. It was a lot of fun, will write more. KD leaving makes the team dynamic a bit awkward, but fairly certain this team will not lose as long as Anthony Davis is there. He will be best basketball player in the world, if not this year than next. He is incredible. I am checking the bulls schedule now for if we get Nola at home. Best? Man, I love the kid but that's not happening.
  18. QUOTE (scs787 @ Aug 17, 2014 -> 10:58 AM) Ya, I'd be a little surprised is he doesn't get called up now....The next question will be, does he pitch outta the bullpen next year, like Sale did, or do they start him right away? I'm guessing he's starting right away.
  19. I didn't realize this many people still washed dishes by hand. I'd hate life with out my dishwasher.
  20. QUOTE (PolishPrince34 @ Aug 17, 2014 -> 10:42 AM) I'm in total disagreement with handling of Assignment for Rodon. The biggest jump in the minors is High A to AA. There is no reason to rush Rodon to the majors. Boras is his agent and not good idea to start his clock. Also, if we are expecting Rodon to cut a Sale or Quintana no chance with Boras at the helm. Only thing I can think of is the Sox made a promise to Boras/Rodon when signing to bring more money to his pocket. Yes we did it with Sale, but he also did sign at the slot recommendation and his agent has had great relations with our front office. Also, we will have to add Rodon to the 40 man roster and their will be some tough decisions on who to keep this offseason. No need to rush him up. Everyone knows his future is bright. My guess is that Hahn thinks the team is ready to compete in 2015 and they want Rodon starting the year in Chicago.
  21. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Aug 17, 2014 -> 10:42 AM) If he is in Charlotte, he will be in Chicago in a month. Ya, I'd definitely think so.
  22. QUOTE (Brian @ Aug 17, 2014 -> 10:00 AM) No. I don't want cops tear gassing my neighborhood and shooting rubber bullets at me. I'll just be upset. Jeez, next thing we know you'll be wearing a skirt.
  23. Brian, are we rioting if Cena wins tonight?
  24. QUOTE (danman31 @ Aug 17, 2014 -> 12:57 AM) Rooting for losses is unquestionably a s***ty thing to do. I don't care to question your fandom. The Sox still shouldn't have landed Rodon. He probably shouldn't have slipped. Would the losses be worth it then? It's just an ugly argument. I'd rather just play the ignorance card when the team isn't in contention (like now) and then be pleased to see a high draft pick after the fact. Rooting for losses would feel really dirty. It didn't feel dirty at all. If I believe losing was the best thing for the franchise, why should I feel dirty about that?
