QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Aug 19, 2014 -> 10:26 PM) The laughing keeps me from crying. But actually, it's to be expected. He had knee surgery. Is that to be expected this far after surgery? Serious question, I have no idea.

QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Aug 19, 2014 -> 02:55 PM) Forget him as a prospect, that K-rate will not work at the MLB level. Good point. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Aug 19, 2014 -> 03:23 PM) As a fan of pitching, it really is sad what happened to Prior. He was so fun to watch. Of all the pitchers I've seen, Prior in his prime, was one of the best. Nobody tops Pedro for me though. At a time when I absolutely despised the Cubs I was still a fan of Prior's.

I predict a 27 pitch perfect game from Rodon tonight.

How were there all these bad reports and then it has taken this long for this information to come out. Seems like a lot of bad information started the process, followed by good info. If this info comes out 10 days ago, we don't have this situation. Again, not saying it is easy and investigations have to be done, but seems like there should have been pretty strong statements coming from the government denying reports, etc. Easy: the media. They are 100% to blame. Show up, shove microphones in people's faces, get "statements," report them as fact, and then get the country in a frenzy. "No, we actually haven't seen it Tom, we're just reporting it." Perfect.

NCAA basketball 2014-15 thread
QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Aug 19, 2014 -> 10:11 AM) O'Brien and Smithpeters will have to take a step forward, and either Lavender or Fletcher(whoever isnt redshirting). I really dont know what to expect from Bola this year. He was two different players last year, the end of the season he was a beast, and in the beginning he looked like 5 fouls in 1 minute. Outside of highlight videos I haven't seen Lavendar play but from everything I've read, he's probably the one most ready to jump right in and score for us. Fletcher I have seen play a few times and he might be the best of the bunch by the time he's a senior(super athlete) but he's still extremely raw and I don't think he's going to be doing too much scoring for us right off the bat. I do think he'll help us on the defensive end of things right away though.

QUOTE (Brian @ Aug 19, 2014 -> 09:52 AM) My biggest worry is who will be 2nd scorer to take pressure off Beane or if he's off? Ya, that's my biggest concern as well. I think it might have to be one the of the freshman. I like O'brien and Smithpeters but I'm not sure either of them can be that 2nd option.

QUOTE (Brian @ Aug 18, 2014 -> 05:45 PM) So they have him win the WM battle royal than break him down? That's bad business. I don't think that was the plan going into Mania. Once the Heyman thing failed they completely switched gears and I think they'll go with this for a minute. Who knows.

I think they're going to Dolph, Cesaro. Have him job to basically everyone, break him down completely and then start to build him back up.

QUOTE (thxfrthmmrs @ Aug 18, 2014 -> 01:59 PM) I don't post on there much, but I'd like to say that I think Reigns will be someone the hardcore fans will hate 5 years down the road. A powerhouse with no mic skills, very limited move set, seemingly anointed as the poster boy of the company, and somehow wins all the matches with odds stacked against him, do we know someone else who fits in that profile? Nope. Cena is good on the mic(when he's not making jokes) and is good in the ring too. I obviously know what you're getting at and if Reigns is pushed down our throats then yes he'll be hated as well.

QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Aug 18, 2014 -> 12:28 PM) You have to wonder who is going to be the one chosen to go against Lesnar as the giant killer. To me, there is two options, Bryan and Punk. Bryans injury issues are not good, and Punk makes too much sense, he has beef with The Authority and with Heyman. Its really too bad that they drove Punk straight into the ground. I don't think there's any doubt that they want to give the ball to Reigns at WM31 by beating Lesnar. But I also think there's a decent possibility that if Reigns continues to struggle in one on one's and because of that has the crowd start to turn on him a bit(he really didn't seem as over in LA last night) then they'll switch their move to Bryan. Punk is a pipe dream at this point. After what him and Brock did last year at SS and the built in story, it'd be absolutely amazing but not happening.

Alejandro De Aza
QUOTE (raBBit @ Aug 18, 2014 -> 01:19 PM) Not only is that a terribly small sample size, I don't know that it's true. De Aza's 3 HRs would have elevated his stats to at least respectable in the first three week. I remember him sucking after the first series but the HRs will still propel the stats. Garcia went down in what I think was the third series of the year. Probably the 8th or 9th game. So I doubt the FO is going to base De Aza's ability to come off the bench off of that little span of time. I don't think De Aza would be a bad option as a 4th outfielder but it seems they have had about their fill with De Aza. I sure hope, at the least, Viciedo is moved this winter as for some reason he still has some value. Ya, he's never really been in a platoon this year. I honestly wouldn't be mad if we tendered him a contract or if he we non-tendered him. I'd be fine with either scenario.

QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Aug 18, 2014 -> 12:02 PM) WWE posting pics of HHH congratulating Lesnar and Heyman, and a seperate tweet from HHH "Love it when a plan comes together". Interesting that they would (seemingly) bring Lesnar into the authority. Also, apparently Vince is not down with Bo Dallas, doesnt like the character. Bo-lievers, better start bo-lieving a little bit more Well Brock was "Plan C" to get the title off Cena. Because HHH is actually part of the IWC and didn't want Cena as champion. I heard the same thing about Bo and I'm sad.
