2014 Fantasy Football Thread
QUOTE (chw42 @ Sep 3, 2014 -> 01:08 PM) At least he didn't say it a million times on national TV. It's become my biggest sports pet peeve. I don't get how Jeffery is so damn hard to say/write.

Wright in a ppr could be a monster. So we did a live draft for one of my leagues on Monday and you had to write your picks on the draft board and the person who took Alshon wrote "Jeffries." I wanted to kick said person in the face.

I still think the Seahawks and Niners are the two best teams in football.

2015 Offseason
QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Sep 2, 2014 -> 05:11 PM) Hector Noesi is a #5 starter. Maybe. He has been with us so far but I wouldn't be shocked if he gets smashed next year if he's in the rotation all year long.

2015 Offseason
QUOTE (Joshua Strong @ Sep 2, 2014 -> 04:32 PM) I think Quintana is overrated, I dont see a number 2, I see a 3/4 starter. What do you do when the market overvalues your assets more than you do? You work the market to your advantage and you make a move. I'm not going to thrash you for your opinion but I am interested as to why you have that opinion?

Hector Noesi & the search for 2 righties
Ya I have 0 faith in EJ at this point. If he finds his arm again, great, if not then he's toast.

Masahiro Tanaka
I always thought Tanaka would have 2/3 great years before probably falling apart, I guess he might not even make it that far. Too bad.

9/1 Games
Here's the thing, I'm not sold on Micah being the 2b next year but the Sox seem to be. If they're dead set on doing that then I think one of the ways to go about upgrading lf or catcher or sp or whatever is by selling high on Conor because we have Semien who can fill in. He wont be as good right away as Gillaspie was this year but he's also not going to create a hole at 3b.

QUOTE (Brian @ Sep 2, 2014 -> 08:52 AM) In your PPR leagues, how much for 1 rec? QB: Rodgers WR: VJax WR: VCruz RB: AP RB: Bush Flex: MJD or Reggie Wayne TE: Olsen K: Bryant D: Arizona A point. Point Per Reception.

9/1 Games
QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ Sep 2, 2014 -> 08:30 AM) Given the large number of holes elsewhere, the Sox don't really have any other option than to give Gillaspie the chance to keep up that pace. There simply aren't enough resources to fill all the other holes AND upgrade at 3B via free agency and trades. Even if he regresses to a 720 OPS, which is the worst case scenario, that is MLB average for 3B. If the Sox redirect resources to upgrade at 3B, they will be well below average at LF, DH, and C (not to mention bullpen). So it really doesn't make sense. None at all. I'm not looking to redirect resources to 3b but if the Sox really want Micah to be the starting 2b next year then I'm looking to sell high on Conor to upgrade elsewhere and let Semien be the everyday 3b.

2015 Offseason
We have no starting pitching depth at the major league level right now, trading Q is just an awful idea right now.

Paige better start dating one of the top guys to fit in with the other 4 that were in the ring. And I know this will probably never happen but I wish the Punk chants would go away when AJ is around.

QUOTE (Brian @ Sep 1, 2014 -> 08:30 PM) Bella's are awful. Vince is great at exploiting something for attention. This Raw sucks but the crowd is worse. Ambrose and Steph need to get back on this show pronto. The last show and a half have been horrendous.

3B and LF Situation for 2015
QUOTE (scs787 @ Aug 31, 2014 -> 05:51 PM) If they think Mcah is an everyday 2B then I'd open to selling high on Gillaspie and inserting Semien over there.....A good SP, LF, DH, or a closer(oh the irony), would be nice. If Conor has earned himself some good trade value then this would be my plan considering that it seems the Sox are making 2b Micah's to lose.

The Adam Dunn Appreciation Thread
QUOTE (raBBit @ Aug 31, 2014 -> 12:05 PM) If absolute best effort is not having an offseason program, then yeah, Dunn put in his best effort. Dunn seems like a decent dude but it was a move that had to made. Dumping Beckham, ADA and Dunn just makes me so much more excited for the offseason. There should be lots of new faces all over the place. Unfortunately, Dunn leaving town brings on the unintended consequence that TUC will have to come up with new material, sigh. He lost a crap ton of weight after he sucked ass in 2011. He was definitely trying, he just wasn't that great here. He's a good dude and a good teammate who unfortunately didn't live up to his contract.

QUOTE (Brian @ Aug 31, 2014 -> 11:57 AM) I wanted to so bad but he convinced me to give him one more shot. He was going through a divorce last year and lost his job. I gave him mercy. Pssh, fantasy football always comes first.

Dunn traded to Athletics for Nolan Sanburn
Good trade for everyone. I hope Adam just kills it in the playoffs but very happy we got a live arm for him.
