The guy is half an idiot

Omar Vizquel
and has promptly played stellar defense once the shoulder healed in april and hit .300 for the season............. I'd hate to have that!

Gammons 2k5 free agent outlook
I say offer Mazzone $2 mil a year......... sure it is probably more than what the manager makes, but Leo could actually make a difference!

Garland in Relief?
Exactly.......... why do anything to make the road easier? Make them take the bumpy road. Those that survive will be hardened and ready to go. Toss the others aside.

Omar Vizquel
I'd take Vizquel...... I think he could play in Chicago for 2-3 years. Of course, Robbie would have to go.

Garland in Relief?
could be too........... but what was the message to Diaz and Valdez?? Ozzieball: "I'm out to make your life tougher"

Garland in Relief?
Garland's day to start was tomorrow. Since Garcia is going tomorrow night, I imagine that Garland will go on Friday or Saturday at the latest. They probably just wanted to get an inning or two out of him to keep him "sharp". Now figure out why he put a guy at 2B in his first Major League game EVER, who had played that position in 422 days!

Gammons 2k5 free agent outlook
I think it was Pokey Reese, not Damian Jackson....... but that is exactly the point I was trying to make... the difference was huge.

Jeff Bajenaru
In fact, Jeff almost looked bored out there tonight....... I am sure he wasn't, but that's how he looked to me. I also thought Arnie looked good tonight.

How many games back will it take
What happened to the choice: I don't believe in pipedreams, it ain't gonna happen!!!!!

Gammons 2k5 free agent outlook
I like the idea of Lowe.......... IF and only IF you shore up the infield D. I don't think it is any mystery he has started pitching well because the RSox added Mient. and Cabrera to their infield. He was historically much better when Pokey Reese played 2B rather than Todd Walker or others...... Hate to say it, but he would fit right into the Minnesota team...........

Gammons 2k5 free agent outlook
You just figured out the secret......... screw free agent pitchers, hire Mazzone away from the Braves..... pay HIM millions and let him work with our mediocre pitchers!

Winston Salem Roster
I think I have it...... thanks for the efforts

Winston Salem Roster
I just went back and noticed Garcia is on the roster. Missed him the first time. The burning question still is how can they add three players in the final weekend and only lose one (Mieses)? Brice was temporarily inactive, which does not count as a roster spot. They may have been running one short if they didn't replace Brice, which would account for two spots? When did Amador go on the DL? Could that have been the third spot?
-
Winston Salem Roster
You still haven't told me what moves they made to get there....... what happened to Cip Garcia? How did they make room for Hernandez, Nanita and An? Were they short a player on the active roster with Brice gone? Was Mieses' promotion one of the spots that opened up?

Brian Anderson
Actually, I am slightly off this time........ what I got earlier tody was that he will not have surgery on the hernia and that it is not as bad as they first thought. The problem is they foudn the hernia while diagnoising a pulled groin, which keeps him from running. From what I am told, he will rehab the groin and they will keep an eye on the hernia. I guess they can correct themselves? I am no hernia expert. I may not be 100% right on the whole story, but I know I am all around it. LOL

Brice Was Promoted to BHam
Consider it verified

9/6 Games
You missed my noon deadline (even west coast time!), but I appreciate the effort, nonetheless. ;-) Yes, Brice took Anderson's roster spot.

Kris Honel
That's interesting because two Sox staffers I know both likened his stuff to Parque's when he first signed. Granted Parque was three years older and coming out of UCLA at the time, so that is not necessarily a bad thing.

Kris Honel
First off, I NEVER talked about height exclusively. This whole conversation was about his slight frame, so try and keep up. You are correct on Pedro and Oswalt. Santana is iffy. Perhaps you are correct and those in the Sox organization don't know what the hell they are talking about? Maybe Gio will become the next Ron Guidry. No one knows. But based on the odds, I'd say the chances of that happening are slim. Note: before anyone takes this out of context, no one is down on Gio. The people I have talked to are just doubtful he will become a dominant #1 type starter.

Brian Anderson
that's what I hear, anyway.......

Alex Fernandez WAS NOT a little guy. Once again, I ask how many diminutive top flight starters there are in the big leagues right now? Not many Your list was crap, because very few of those guys fit a description of slight. The bottom line is no one knows how Gio will end up. I am just telling you that based on his frame, some people don't see a ton of room for improvement other than just becoming a better pitcher. That is not a bad thing, it is just a thing. Right now, the odds of him making the big leagues and sticking at all are still long. Let's give the guy a few years and see what happens.

Hernia - will require surgery - season done
