Cotts pitching well
Heather that may be true, but college pitchers often pitch into the 130-140 pitch count range. My understanding is that he threw a lot of pitches at ISU as well.
-
Cotts pitching well
He was likely limited in some fashion tonight, since this was just his second start after coming off the DL (he went 4 the first start). Earlier in the season, he was walking too many and going deep into counts with almost every hitter, hence him only going 5 or 6 innings per outing. That is exactly what he he needs to improve on to continue up the ladder. He has only walked one in each of his first two outings since coming off the DL, so perhaps improvement is being made.

Minor League Boxes for Friday
I dug this up when I posted on the All-Prospect Thread a few days ago..... Don't really have much else. Young (Bristol). He is only 20 and was the Sox 16th round pick in last year's draft. He struggled with average at Tucson last year, but had 13 doubles, 5 home runs and walked 19 times. He did strikeout a lot, however. He was a 1st team All-Stater out of talent-laden Texas. He is currently hitting .429 in his first 6 games this year. He may be a long shot, but I felt he was worth mentioning.

5 Steps to Win the Division this Season
Corb, all you have accomplished with this is re-hash your opinions of players. It is well documented that you don't like KW, Colon or Jiminez and that you love Valentin. Hell, I'm surprised that you didn't add in a raise for big frank too.

I CAN'T BELIEVE, WHAT I JUST SAW!!!!!
Whatever you say Brando........ All I know is that there would have been more b****ing if Koch came in at the beginning of the inning and blew it. Granted leaving Gordon in likely buries him for the series, I don't see your # of pitch argument. If he is dominating, give him a shot. If he does well, he could have been out of there with only 6-8 additional pitches. Hell, Koch probably threw more pitches warming up for two innings. You're damn good at making arguments after the fact.

Anybody hear the Alomar rumor?
Past, the Sox could have what most people think are the best GM and manager in the game and you'd still b****, win or lose. Try and relax and actually ENJOY a win once. You might like it.

I CAN'T BELIEVE, WHAT I JUST SAW!!!!!
So you would have brought " a closer whose confidence is shot to hell" into the game at the beginning of the 9th?? All year long people have complained because JM doesn't go with the hot hand and limits his relievers to X number of outs/innings. Now, he stays with the dominant hand and it falls apart on him and he is the goat. IF he brings in Koch to start that inning and Koch blows it, you are yelling and screaming that he was idiot for doing so in the first place. IF Koch comes in and saves it, you are praising Koch for a job well done. I have never seen so many "managerial experts" as I have on this board. It is f***ing easy to criticize after the fact. JM got backed into a hole because he went with the guy that had the hot hand. He had to bring in Koch, when he would much rather seen Gordon finish the job. Get a life people. You b**** about the manager when the Sox lose. You b**** when they win. I guess I am learning that you just like to b****, whether it has any merit or not.

Bottom of the 8th.....
Would he have scored fronm 2 or did Jiminez moving him to 3rd make the difference on that run? Jimenez didnt move him to third. Jimenez grounded out to 2nd, so Olivo had to stay put. So yep, DLo had NOTHING to do with this win. He very well might have cost us another game. :finger Without seeing the game, I was wondering that very thing. How does Olivo not move up to 3B on a ground ball to the right side of the infield?

Joe B.
I wasn't comparing Borchard to Wells.
