Cotts Gone?...
That is kind of what I guessed as well. With the pools of minor leaguers texas is going to choose from, it sounds like cotts may be involved if texas only takes two players, but not if they take three. That is also just a guess.

Spare us from Carlos D and Ill be happy... Speaking of.... Did anyone see that unbelievable catch CLee made tonight?

Cotts Gone?...
It's okay and no need to be sorry, but just try and look at this objectively and not fall in love with Everett's two big seasons. His production in other years is honestly not much more than I think we could expect from a Harris/Rowand combo. Look at it this way... If you were a team that just traded for Mark Buehrle and you looked at his numbers for this year and didn't know him and his performances like we do, you might just think you got robbed. If you looked into his numbers and saw his last 5 starts, you might just change your mind. Now reverse that situation. What if Buehrle started off hot like he is now and then his last 5 or 10 outings are what has caused his overall numbers to be where there are now. Would you feel good or bad? Now what if Buehrle had a shaky year last year too and was removed 2 years from his actual numbers from the past few years. I know we are talking apples and oranges here, but with some intelligence, I believe it is a fair example. I just don't think Everett measures up. In Alomar's case, I like him more for his "numbers". I like his D, I think his presence on the field will help everyone and if he hits average to good for Robby Alomar, I think we have a guy who could help the team. Am I making any sense here??

Cotts Gone?...
The question is, will Everett be appreciably better than Rowand/Harris in CF, taking into account defense and what the Sox gave up to get him? If he has a monster 2nd half and is a key player in the Sox winning, then I will consider relenting. But I think the Sox were primed for that, without him. THAT is my problem with the trade. How much better will he actually make the Sox than what they would have been without him and how does that compare with what they gave up. If Cotts, Honel, or Wing are not involved, then I may be able to stomach it more. But I can't see dealing a guy with top of the rotation ability for someone I don't think will make a huge difference.

Cotts Gone?...
C'mon Bmr.... Do you REALLY think you can say he is a great hitter with those numbers?? He has had two good seasons and a good start to this one. That's it. The rest scream of a 4th outfielder.

Everett Official!
You're right, it doesn't. The argument was based on Bmr's idiotic assumption.

AGAIN, and as always, you post crap stats, that arent legit, to support your negative outlook. THe guy can hit, has always hit, and will continue to hit. ONLY A MORON would use 90 at bats to try and prove a point. Then this moron will just use 3,204 AB's. Is that sample size big enough for you??? You look at those numbers and tell me with a straight face and half a brain that the guy "has always hit". He has had TWO, arguably 3 good years. If you don't know your s***, don't spout it off. So you can assume that our players our happy? At least a few of them may be out of jobs? Some of the guys may not like Everett. Others may not have thought we needed to make another trade. Yep, anyone with a brain could eliminate any of those as possibilites. You're right.

Cotts Gone?...
Jim, I didn't agree with you before, but on this one, I do. I was never a big fan of either Alomar or Everett, so I don't think there is any bias there. From the beginning, I thought that Alomar could help this team. I hated the idea of Everett from moment one.

Jimenez part of Everett Deal
DJ was done without the Carl Everett trade.
-
Cotts Gone?...
The guy had a hot April and a good start to May, then has died. He is nowhere near the defensive equivalent in CF that Alomar is a 2B. I just don't see him fitting in with this team.

Yes I understand Yas, but that could just mean he was saying that is who he thinks will be involved. I didn't hear how he said it, but he just came back on talking about the deal and mentioned no minor leaguers. Said they are still trying to agree on the 3rd player.
-
Everett Official!
Gammons just said the 3rd Minor leaguer has not yet been agreed upon, but the deal should be done by 11. Did not say any names of minor leaguers at this time.

Everett has potential to be a stud in our lineup. Im not so sure about this trade, but hey, KW is trying. f***ing .198 since May 27. Big stud, huh? f*** that........ I wouldn't have traded Josh Shaffer for Carl Everett Dude f***ing calm down. Every player has their ups and downs. WHO CARES. I'll wait to see what the deal entails. But I don't think Everett was needed at all. Let alone a hothead who is hitting like s***.

What EXACTLY did Gammons say?

GM Williams Once Again Makes Idiotic Trade!
*thinking* hmmmmmm... nope....his ego just wont let me do that honestly......... What does Kenneth do to turn you off so much to him? on a personal level.. nothing, i have always said hes a nice guy... on a professional level.. where do you want me to start the list???? i dont think the server would be able to handle all i have to say about how he pisses me off during his stint as gm...... I'd like to see the limits of the server tested, Michelle. Who knows, I may be able to add a few. ;-)

The Roberto Alomar Fuck Yes Thread
Liman, I hope that Alomar plays very differently than he did for the Mets. If he doesn't, then the gamble wasn't worth it. But I do think he was an upgrade and will help the Sox. From someone that has seen Ring many times, I don't think you are getting what everyone is saying. Don't get me wrong, I think he will be a solid Major League pitcher, but he has setup man written all over him in my mind. It is always reported that he has a great fastball and throws in the 90's, but he has not done that here. I have seen him pitch many times and stood behind the scouts so I could see the radar guns and Ring threw his fastball consistently at 87-88. He rarely ever hit 90. I hope he does well and hope that the trade works out for both teams. Ring can still make a lot of money and have a nice career, I just don't think it will be as a closer in the Big Leagues.

No, actually she said that Rick Hahn was responsible for this deal, not KW.

Chicago's Bruce Levine - Has Inside Information
Everertt and Sosa are 2 totaly diffrent situations. Everertt was actualy playing like an All Star this season. Sosa hasn't Like an All-Star?? You mean Everett's .198 average since May 27th? I said this season, meaning sometime this season. For less than 2 months, he played like an all-star. In the tank, since. Exactly what I was saying that you can't compare the 2, because Sosa hasn't played like one all season, atleast Everertt has some part of the season. Regardless of comparisons to Sosa, we don't need his ass!

Let's just hope like hell they don't decide to make a deal for Everett.

fair enough........ i would just be very surprised if Florida does a 180. It would be the dumbest announcement ever, if that is the case.
