Looking forward to any input you can give us all on your trip out there next week....it'll be fun to find out what you think....the good, the bad and the ugly..... I, too, am interested in the development of some of these kids we've heard so much about....Munoz, Diaz, Adkins, Cotts, Nunez and Miles too....to name a few.... Waiting for the season to begin is like waiting for paint to dry...the more you pay attention to it, the longer it seems to take!

Ok, the site seems to have gotten their act together....so give it a try...there's a whole bunch of pretty cool pics to check out...
-
s***....let me try this again sorry folks....
-
Sox Pics! ....I'd love to get some comments back from you guys on these pics....which ones are your favorites? I personally love the Oscar Gamble pic (he is definately in the hair hall of fame!)
-
Excellent! Just voted and Miguel is up by 7 now!
-
With one exception.......from an individual perspective, I will respect players on George's teams, but I will always hate the Yankee organization for their continued attempt to destroy our beloved game....my opinion, of course.....
-
Yeah, doesn't appear to be a future hall of fame list, does it.....although I am interested in seeing how Munoz performs...his hype has been pretty high coming into this spring.... hey, by the way, when will Honel get some innings?
-
yeah, I freaked a bit too when I saw this pop up.....maybe they need to stop f*cking around with the site so much and let a good thing be......it seems to be working just fine from this end.....

tick tock....tick tock....tick tock..... ....sigh......I find myself in a constant search for the latest article....searching for every tidbit of information I can get my hands on.....three or four times a day.....am I alone or are you all going a bit crazy trying to get more stuff from what's happening in AZ? ...what we need is a sox fan living down there to go to camp every day and report in TOTAL and ABSOLUTE DETAIL what the hell is happening!!!!!!!!! 10 pages, 20 pages, 50 pages....detail on every player......are they in better shape? worse shape? hitting the ball better? throwing harder? running faster? smiling? pissed off at someone? details! details! I want details!!!!!!!!! aaaaggghhhhhh!!!!!!!! still 33 days!!!!!!!!!

I think he might have been a better option that Heredia.....I see very little chance, very little, that Heredia can win the spot....let's just hope that Rauch makes all of this a moot point....
-
What I like about the pickup is that Daubach's a PROVEN MLB-level hitter. Liefer has a ton of potential.......sigh......but has yet to show it consistently at the top level. I think this was a great pickup by KW and will give us a tremendous LH option for JM to utilize during the year....definately a situation where we closed a obvious gap on the roster....

Baseball America Chat I know this is a little dated, and I'm not sure if this has already been posted, but Rogers gives some pretty good info on guys down below....check it out...

Ok, this is a stretch..... 2 Rauch's Make a Wright?

Don't know how anyone can vote against Maggs.....

David Cone signs minor league deal with New York
DaSoxRox replied to Rowand44's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Yeah, I can't help but feel the same way.....but, you never know...last year with the Sox he did win more games than he lost (9-7), had a respectible era (4.31) and actually maintained his career k/ip ratio (+8 per 9)...so who knows? ...maybe he can give em 10-15 wins if his arm can hold up.... -
No problem as long as he doesn't have the expectation of staying up in April right from the beginning...if he thinks he's got a legitimate shot, does ok, and is told to head on down because we're going to go with a veteran....well, I think it could hurt his confidence somewhat....don't give him any false expectations if you are planning on starting him in aaa regardless of how he does in st....be upfront with him....imo....

...this is driving me crazy!!!!!!! I can't wait any longer for this season to start!!!!!!!!! My wife and kids think I'm going a bit crazy with my constant thoughts and comments centering around our Sox....here's some actual examples of conversations I had with the wife just in the past few days.... 1. "Honey, what do you want for dinner?"....response.... "Did you hear Rogers turned KW's deal down?" 2. "What's the weather supposed to be like tomorrow?" ...response... "Can you believe pitchers and catchers report next week?" 3. "Did you give the kids a bath this morning?" ....response.... "I just can't help but wonder who's gonna get that fifth spot...." .......can't forget Valentine's.....can't forget Valentine's....can't forget Valentine's..........

We all appreciate you coming here and chatting with us, and will look forward to the updates. Have a great season Jim, maybe we'll see you in Chicago in September. That's awesome, Jim! Thanks again for taking the time and giving us fanatics the info....really looking forward to your insights during the season and hopefully, we will see you up here in Sept!!

I think he has proven himself long enough in the minors and has shown some consistency in the bigs to make most folks believe he's the real deal....me included...

I mean, how many more stiffs do we need to add to the growing pile of journeymen (Loaiza and Heredia) who are going to try to overtake Rauch for the 5 spot?....I say we should give Rauch another shot....I mean, he's only going to get 2-3 starts in April anyway....let's let the kid settle in, keep his confidence strong and give him all the opportunity to succeed...if by July he is obviously still not ready for the bigs....then sign a stiff for the pennant drive... ..the only way Rauch should NOT make the rotation out of st is if he is clearly the second choice behind Heredia, Loaiza, Stewart or possibly Cooper....I think if its not clear who has performed the best, you gotta go with one of the kids....its called staff development, and all successful organizations utilize it...

Yep, I also put my vote in for Jimenez.....although a close second to Olivo... for some reason, I can't help thinking that Harris is going to end up getting 300 or so ab's this year and could actually be pencilled in at the top of the lineup by summertime (yikes!) if Jimenez can't handle the pressure and fails to get on base consistently... As for Olivo, he's been given a great opportunity, not only with the chance to start, but also to have a mentor by his side every day to teach him the craft of handling mlb pitchers...its just a lot to ask for a young guy to handle straight away... ....my hope is that the organization will be patient with all the young guys and not to bench/demote them when/if they falter a bit....its very easy to lose confidence at their age.....I look at how they handled Rauch last year and wonder if they handled that situation as well as they should have... ...anyway, if 4 out of the 4 succeed, we win it all, 3 out of 4 and we get to the series, 2 out of 4 and we still make the post season, 1 out of 4 and we end up behind the twinkies, and if all 4 guys suck, well..... ...my money's on 2 out of 4 definately (crede and rowand), with 3 out of 4 (adding olivo) as a definate possibility....

Konerko on the Upswing I dont know..just finished reading the times article and I can't help but wonder how long it will take before Paulie and Frank have it out....it may start out as something quite minor....a missed plane or a ground ball not run out as hard as it should have been, but my guess is that PK is starting to feel that he is falling into a role as a sort of captain of the ship and it will be interesting to see if that attitude increases this year and...conversely, how Frank handles it....ie: potential criticism... who knows, it might be a whole bunch of little things starting in st, but I am one that will not be suprised if it ends up spilling out into the public eye.....i guess that alot will depend on how well a year they are having and how the team is performing... ..and I know alot of people are thinking that Frank will be the perfect teamate this year because of his contract situation, but sometimes people speak before they actually use their brain and Frank has been known to suffer from that ailment in times past.... stay tuned on this one folks....

Hey folks.....was wondering what the latest news is on tony's rehab....he had the acl on his right knee operated, when, last August? Will he part of the 25 coming out of st or will he start the year on the dl? ....and once healthy where do you think he will fit in...ie: how much time will he get to prove that he can be an everyday player in the bigs? Always looking out for another I-talian from NY!

For a while I've been predicting Borchard will be our opening day centerfielder and I'm still going to hold out that it could happen. Either way, I am a Rowand supporter. Ya know what? I think Borchard will have to have a monster st to push rowand off....methinks jm is set on rowand if he has solid numbers during st...my bet is borchard starts the year in aaa but finds his way up by June......
-
Well, I tell you that's fantastic news! Just when I thought we might just have to deal with the fact that we will be having (gulp!) Harris start on opening day in cf, Rowand decides to heal nice and quick. Here's hoping the kid decides on a new hobby in the offseason.....
