  1. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ May 30, 2006 -> 05:07 PM) Compared to what a coach makes in their next contract after they score a recruit who gets them into the round of 64 and earns them an extension and a new shoe contract? I doubt they care. I too doubt that the coach would care, but i think that the recruited player or his parents would care about a huge bill.
  2. QUOTE(DannyCooksey @ May 31, 2006 -> 06:30 PM) i didn't write it. Someone emailed it to me actually. i never knew the site existed until today, but I think it's funny as hell. So do you like Hawk or not, i got confused about it.
  3. QUOTE(wilmot825 @ May 31, 2006 -> 04:56 PM) Not comparing him to this player is no way cuz its wrong BUT....Anderson is kinda like Henry Blanco....He is an amazing defensive player and struggles with the bat...But one difference is that BLANCO SUX So does BA right now too.
  4. I don't know why most people here seem to despise of DJ's announcing. I don't think it is as bad as some people make it out to be.
  5. QUOTE(WCSox @ May 30, 2006 -> 05:39 PM) Agreed about AJ. Thome definitely has the offensive numbers, but I seem to remember talk about him having a difficult time getting in because he's a DH. (I'm assuming that's because it's being played in an NL park.) Hopefully he won't get screwed out of a bench spot. If JT would have difficulty, then why wouldn't Ortiz since he is a DH too?
  6. I don't think that Ortiz should start at 1B. His AVG isn't great and he isn't lighting the world on fire. G AB R H 2B 3B HR RBI TB BB SO SB CS OBP SLG AVG 49 187 32 50 11 0 14 47 103 27 37 0 0 .361 .551 .267 The same with Varitek and Roberts. Varitek is in a slump and Roberts hasn't played in enough games this year for me to think that he is All-Star starter worthy.
  7. QUOTE(Dick Allen @ May 29, 2006 -> 04:44 PM) Carlton Fisk in 1983 had a pathetic average into late May. It was so bad, a lot of people thought he was done. On May 29th he was hitting .179 with 3 homers and 11 RBI. I think he finished 2nd or 3rd in the MVP vote that season. Anderson isn't going to get that hot, but he will improve. Unless KW can get a guy who can play great defense in CF, its really silly to have Mackowiak, who Ozzie said it wasn't fair to have him start against Lee or Sabathia, as your full-time CF, and even scarier, who would be backing him up? So were comparing BA to Carlton? But i would just like to see BA have solid AB's in the games he is in, then i will believe that he will come around(pending enough playing time too).
  8. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ May 30, 2006 -> 05:06 PM) According to SC he just joined the Knicks. But i agree with what Soxfest said.
  9. I would imagine that their bill would be through the roof unless that coach had the same service.
  10. It's funny, but it's no where close to being correct.
  11. I thought last year that BA wouldn't be ready until 07, and as of right now, from the offensive standpoint, it's true. I would send him down to AAA just so he could get some confidence back. I would be thrilled for a possible Ryan Sweeney sighting, even though i think it is a pipe dream, for now at least.

  13. QUOTE(bmags @ May 26, 2006 -> 08:03 PM) when he said we only hit 69 doubles...when teh actual total was 78...strange number to mix up with... He did correct himself right after he said it.
  14. QUOTE(KJean @ May 23, 2006 -> 07:59 PM) I think this what you are talking about: http://www.yousendit.com/transfer.php?acti...CCBF5AC78288223 Yeah that's it. Thanks
  15. QUOTE(Drew @ May 23, 2006 -> 03:13 PM) Last October, some guys my dad works with at a Chicago ad agency cut a punk rock version of it under the band name "Tadahito and the Iguchis." I remember getting a forwarded news clip of it. I still have to go with Captain Stubby and the Buccanneers. I have been trying to find that version of the song forever. By chance do you still have it or know anyone that does. And the new sox fight song is horrible by the way.
  16. QUOTE(Jordan4life_2006 @ May 22, 2006 -> 03:37 PM) Or maybe SS to replace, as John Miller from espn would say -- Oooribe. That is what i was about to say.
  17. Right when i saw that play i remembered ARow from last year doing those same types of play (without breaking anything though).
  18. QUOTE(YASNY @ May 7, 2006 -> 08:19 AM) Why can't a knuckballer be effective from the pen? Who started this myth? Walks and passed balls?
  19. QUOTE(Kalapse @ May 6, 2006 -> 07:42 PM) Give me the traditional helmet the new ventilation ones look f***ing stupid. ^^^^^^
  20. MySpace This is my myspace page.
  21. QUOTE(JDsDirtySox @ May 5, 2006 -> 09:32 PM) Sure Bobby didn't look sharp tonight. But Ozzie started him off by having the tying run on first with no one out... instead of at the plate. Let Bobby have the 9th. No Loogies necessary... just give the ball to Jenks. ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
  22. QUOTE(greasywheels121 @ May 5, 2006 -> 09:49 PM) And his rookie card is certainly worth something. Assuming he does well.
