QUOTE(GreatScott82 @ Jul 4, 2005 -> 10:47 AM) Why should he? Contreras last 3 starts have been bad. And El-duque is spending his 2nd stint on the 15 day DL. Of course he's going to go with the 3 guys who have been reliable all season long. How about a 4th of July present for us Sox fans KW!! Contreras and prospect for Schmidt. I dont care if Schmidt isn't better than our big 3- he is at least better than our lower 2. A new surrounding and a new league will benefit Schmidt- kind of like it did for Clemens. The one thing that worries me about Schmidt is what was his relationship like with AJ last season? Its obvious SF hates A.J. and if Schmidt had something to do with it than there is no way KW makes this deal. If in fact there is a deal in place, this could be the one factor that is keping KW from pulling the trigger on it IMO.

The Gigantic all encompassing TRADE THREAD
sayitaintso replied to southsider2k5's topic in Pale Hose Talk
From CBS Sportsline's rumor mill. The Dodgers want a power hitter and have set their sights on several reasonably priced players who might be available in the next few weeks, says the Los Angeles Times They are: Cincinnati's Adam Dunn, Tampa Bay's Aubrey Huff and Carl Everett of the White Sox. -
QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Jul 1, 2005 -> 11:59 AM) Ok it's real simple. We got rid of Carlos over Konerko because you can get a fast motherf***er to play LF and not 1B. How's that? I'd say that sounds about right.

QUOTE(winodj @ Jun 30, 2005 -> 11:11 AM) Not quite give. We have to provide three churros and a beer to be named later. Damn, those a-holes . -
Does this remind you of the ivy incident a couple years back? Maybe this is how this Cub fan figured to get back at us. Just a possible reason.

QUOTE(Jabroni @ Jun 28, 2005 -> 10:09 AM) Seriously? I will nut in my pants if you are telling the truth. Would there be a better rotation in baseball than this? Mark Buehrle Jason Schmidt Freddy Garcia Jon Garland Jose Contreras That has to be one of the scariest rotations in baseball. I'm giddy just thinking about it. -

QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Jun 27, 2005 -> 10:14 AM) Its probably the BoSox. With their offense facing a Schilling, AJ, Clement, Miller/Fatboy combo would be a tough draw in the playoffs. I hope we are not resting on this best record in baseball crap, because when we go into the playoffs all the records are wiped and we start over. Seattle didnt make it into the world series and they won more games that we will. AJ would definately make a sick rotation in the playoffs. Buerhle, Garcia, AJ, Garland would match up with anything out there. We get that, maybe another stick who can play 1st and 3rd. And a lefty who can get lefties out in the pen and we would be good enough to battle for the WS. Then we would have two AJ's, you can't have two AJ's on the same team. -
CUBS LOSE YET AGAIN, THIS TIME BY 10 RUNS. CURRENTLY AT .500. White Sox first team to 50 wins behind strong pitching by Freddy Guzman. By Jeff Brantley

My guy would be Carlos Zambrano because he's a nutcase. -
QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Jun 24, 2005 -> 05:47 PM) Freddy Guzman was light out today AND we didn't have to use Chad Hermanson. I couldn't remember what he said freddy's last name was.

QUOTE(GoArow33 @ Jun 24, 2005 -> 08:13 AM) So I woke up this morning to get my paper and I notice that my White Sox flag has been taken off its stand and thrown onto the driveway and when I walked further down that some drunken loser had written Cubs in spray paint across my side walk. This happens to be beyond friendly jeering in my mind and I'm quite upset that I'll probably have to get new concrete in to cover up this trash on my sidewalk. So today I'll be cheering extra loud on the first base side @ the cell. GO SOX!!! Win this one for my sidewalk... That's really a shame. I would be pissed if that happend to me. But at least you have payback with the Sox's blowout.

QUOTE(Jabroni @ Jun 24, 2005 -> 04:58 PM) Agreed. He is so bad. Kenny will trade for another reliever (probably a lefty) at the deadline. I have no doubt about this. Get rid of Jizzcan Fan Club!!!! -
QUOTE(Heads22 @ Jun 23, 2005 -> 10:14 PM) I wish people would forget about Lee. He's a Milwaukee Brewer. Pods, Viz and Hinton are Sox. Pods, Viz, Hinton, Hernandez, AJ, Gooch>CLee

Players who have worn #1 & 5 On the Sox

Carl Everett wore number 5 for us for about a week when we got him from Texas. -

QUOTE(GreatScott82 @ Jun 23, 2005 -> 04:58 PM) KW is just looking at options just in case El-duque doesn't return strong by July 31st. Ted Lilly is the first name we have heard that has been confirmed KW has been looking at. I'm guessing we will here many more names within the next few weeks. Or maybe we won't here any names (FLYING UNDER THE RADAR- Like he did when we aquired Freddy Garcia last season.) Hmm this was the time last season when we aqcuired Freddy- just ended a series at home vs the Cubs. Can we see another acquisition happening in 2005 after the Cubs series at home? Or will KW wait until the deadline like he did when he acquired Jose Contreras from NY? Should be interesting. All I know is we need 1 more reliever and 1 more starter that can possibly go to the bulpen if El-duque comes back. BMac needs some triple-A experience. I wouldn't tamper with our position players- they are all playing well right now- even Crede!! Agreed.
