Pods might go on the DL
QUOTE(beck72 @ Aug 14, 2005 -> 04:45 AM) Ozzie doesn't sound convinced. But the Sox org. thinks Owens "can play here". I think he'll be the one called up. Here's the link http://www.dailyherald.com/sports/whitesox.asp Just imagine if it was timo down in the minors, then ozzie would think he's ready.

Cheers to Devil Rays !
As long as they are beating the Indians they are fine by me. Keep it up D-Rays, for tomorrow at least and whenever else you play the tribe.

The Hawk
QUOTE(sti3 @ Aug 12, 2005 -> 01:27 PM) The author isn't a Sox fan. I think I've met some non-Sox fans (fans of other teams, not objective journalists) that appreciate him. Some may like him, but alot more don't like him because he is such a homer.

Nightengale's Griffey/ Sox update
QUOTE(kdhargo @ Aug 12, 2005 -> 07:28 PM) Not to be a downer, but in regards to Crede and a long-term contract: Wouldn't that be difficult with Bora$$ as his agent? I think that it would be difficult to negotiate with bora$$, but why would we give crede a long term contract ?

Official Looking Ahead to 2006 Thread
QUOTE(ScottPodRulez22 @ Aug 12, 2005 -> 10:10 PM) Since when is Petite a free agent at the end of the year and I want no part of mota. Why don't you want mota? If he is a F.A. after this season, and the reason is because he may be a problem in the clubhouse then i think you should reconcider your thought. He has been a pretty good reliver in his career. Here are his career numbers averaged/totaled out. ( From 99-05) His numbers aren't that bad and he could be used in the set up role or middle relief. And besides, could he be any worse than shingo was this year. G GS W L SV CG SHO IP H R ER HR BB K ERA WHIP BAA 373 0 21 24 7 0 0 446.1 379 188 175 40 168 357 3.53 1.23 .231

Before we think about re-signing widger, we should lock up AJ for 3-4 years.

The Hawk
Did anybody else notice who hates hawks call. I just tought that it was kind of funny. "I'm sorry, but I can't stand Harrelson. Not only are his catchphrases really stupid, his commentary is the worst sort of homer chatter you can imagine. He insults the opposition, cheers on the Sox players, and sits silently brooding when something goes wrong. Give me Herb Carneal and "It's back, waaaaaay back, it's ... gone, touch 'em all!" -- Mike, St. Paul, Minn. (1:41 p.m.)

Neal Cotts
QUOTE(Jeckle2000 @ Aug 11, 2005 -> 10:02 AM) Heres an interesting topic for discussion... Do you think he will ever start again? Personally I think he will stay in the bullpen for the rest of his career.... But I was wondering what opinion you guys had on it? I think he will be given the opportunity to start again, but i believe that he will be better off being in the pen for the rest of his career.

That kid who fell from the balcony
QUOTE(JoshPR @ Aug 10, 2005 -> 12:03 AM) Was he a Kamikaze? WTF is that Dickhead thinking.. Sheesh Cocaine can do some nasty s***, or maybe some bad hash :headshake Maybe he was trying distract the Sox and forget about the bunt so that the Yanks could get on base.

White Sox Winner
The Royals can't hold a 5 run lead, :headshake why do they suck that bad?

Everett to not play today
QUOTE(Antonio Osuna @ Aug 9, 2005 -> 04:55 PM) There are a lot of Timo haters on this board. But I don't believe what I'm seeing -- they're attacking him after he was one of the only guys in the lineup yesterday to do his job at the plate. Timo Haters, show some respect. I respect him as a person, but as a player.....well.....not so much.

Timo Perez
Was this question really needed to be asked? Timo playing period .

Interest in Palmeiro ?
QUOTE(Buehrle>Wood @ Aug 9, 2005 -> 04:37 PM) Was he even connected to steroids back then? Different story. I don't know, I was 10 or 11 and don't remember if he was. I figured someone older than me would know the answer to your question.

Interest in Palmeiro ?
QUOTE(Kalapse @ Aug 9, 2005 -> 12:25 PM) I would never stoop so low as to pick up a known juicer just to make a push in the playoffs. I'd much rather go the rest of the season with Everett at DH than have a POS like Palmeiro in the lineup. I know that everyone seems to like him and he's always been a good guy but anyone who would s*** on the game and embarras his team, family and sport like he has is not welcome on any team I cheer for. What about when we picked up Jose Canseco? How did you feel then?

Wimpy ....
QUOTE(retro1983hat @ Aug 8, 2005 -> 11:23 AM) Most of us probably agree Hawk was 10X better when Pacoriek was with him. I have heard rumors but nothing specific as to why Wimpy left the Sox booth. Some of theories are: 1. Wimpy was getting a lot of publicity and was becoming a fan favorite and Hawk's ego was just too big to deal with that. 2. Reinsdorf wanted Tom to study harder and work more on his pregame preparation and he refused. 3. Spend more time with the family closer to home. 4. He and Hawk had a big blowout and in the end, the Sox would take Harrelson's side. Just wondering. I loved the two of them together and the booth hasn't been the same since. I heard wimpy left because of therory #1, but then when Kalapse posted the thing about the abuse and what hawk said it makes hawk look like a complete a-hole.

AND THATS A WHITE SOX WINNER!!!!!!!!&#

What's the waiver order actually...
QUOTE(Wanne @ Aug 5, 2005 -> 03:23 PM) Just a question...I'm not sure if it starts (as you would think) with the team with the worst record forward or what? I believe that it is the team with the worst record in your league to the team with the best in your league, then the team with the worst record in the other league to the team with the best record.

'Mutton-chops' Crede on a tear
QUOTE(KJean @ Aug 4, 2005 -> 10:21 PM) YAY! I love his new sideburns. But I noticed in today's (Thursday's) game that he switched back to batting with the gloves. He seemed to be doing great without them. I noticed that to today. Right when i saw him wearing them i knew he was going to have a rough day. He's got to not wear the batting gloves and keep the chops growin.

'Mutton-chops' Crede on a tear
Its his lucky chops and no batting gloves on which to why he is succeding. I love joes chops.

QUOTE(Whitesoxfan56 @ Aug 1, 2005 -> 09:20 PM) can you explain how you got the magic number with those numbers... i no 69 is the # of wins we have and 43 is the magic#, but what is the rest? i think i got it the 51 is # of losses by the 2nd place team right? and 163 is the number u start with at the beginning of the year? That's basically right.
