QUOTE(wsox08 @ Aug 31, 2005 -> 01:20 AM) Furcal will be begging to come here once he sees how well we do the rest of the year.. Hopefully August wasn't mentioned to him.

QUOTE(hi8is @ Aug 31, 2005 -> 02:16 PM) just to make sure my point isnt misconstrued.. we're filled with joy. So the sox are getting walker?

QUOTE(Brian @ Aug 31, 2005 -> 02:55 PM) Hope others do. Would be fun to fill that mofo up. Thanks for the invite. I'm in.

The sox need a player that can play the left side of the infield and who can get hits and reach base safely.

QUOTE(fathom @ Aug 30, 2005 -> 05:32 PM) BTW, what did Willie Harris do to deserve getting the chance to start on this team again? For a team that's struggling offensively, I don't see how adding one of the weaker hitters in the AL is going to help your offense. C'mon, a .266 avg in AAA doesn't put fear in the hearts of pitchers when Wee Willie steps up to the plate?

QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Aug 29, 2005 -> 09:05 PM) I wouldn't say the only HR guy, but I understand what your saying. Were going to hit close to 180 HR this year, which is still very solid. But Uribe and Joe have become such big holes in the lineup, and in an order that is already VERY streaky, we need a consistant hitter like Furcal lower in the order, or have him bat 2nd, with Gooch moving down in the order. Either way you slice it, its helps the lineup out, alot. But just thinking if we didn't resign him, the next HR "big" threat would be JD.

QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Aug 29, 2005 -> 08:56 PM) Exactly. You can only play so much smallball. Furcal WITH Konerko would be a plus, but Erstad with Furcal is a little too much. If there is someway to work out a way to get Konerko and Furcal next year, that would be great for us. It would give us more speed and a better defensive SS, and we can keep our only HR guy.

QUOTE(brijames @ Aug 29, 2005 -> 07:43 PM) The Sox have stopped hitting period, and with great hitting ballclubs like the Rangers, currently beating us up, followed by the Tigers who are a great hitting team as well, the Sox will probably lose 6 of the next 7 while the Indians are just plain pounding everyone right now. That will put the lead around 2 or 3 by the end of next week and then the pressure will really eat this team up. Why all the negativity?

QUOTE(Punch and Judy Garland @ Aug 29, 2005 -> 08:48 PM) Furcal > Konerko. Not sure if it will play out where we get Raffy but you gotta figure its a one or the other situation. Here's a question and I don't even know if he's a free agent and people here seem to hate Darin Erstad but would you rather have Konerko/Uribe or Furcal/Erstad? If we got Furcal and Erstad we will have gone from having no leadoff hitter before this year to having about 4 which is kind of funny. The only real problem with not having Konerko is then we don't have a true HR threat.

He should just put Baj in now.

QUOTE(SHAFTR @ Aug 29, 2005 -> 07:28 PM) i read somewhere that the team that scores more runs wins. Yeah i read that too, but i don't think the Sox's O got the message.

QUOTE(whitesoxin' @ Aug 28, 2005 -> 09:20 PM) That's how I took his statement. Maybe the Pirates will trade him to us now! No they probaly won't, they only like doing inter-division trades. -

QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Aug 27, 2005 -> 10:20 AM) Is Nomar going to be a realisitic option in free agency if we're going to have to upgrade at SS? Will be interesting to see what type of contract he gets. I think that he could be just because of his last 2 injury plagued seasons.

QUOTE(Mr. Showtime @ Aug 27, 2005 -> 10:16 AM) Let the record show we we're 5-1 with the Crede banner before. So for the math majors out there we are now 8-1 with this one. OH YEAH~! Long live the Crede Banner!!!!!!!!!!!!!

QUOTE(ceffa2000 @ Aug 26, 2005 -> 10:19 PM) Usually Ozzie is obsessed with getting his players a win but I don't get that move. He is not a complete game pitcher. Use the bullpen, thats what its there for. That's exactly what i was thinking when ozzie left El Duque in for the 8th inning. -
QUOTE(Jake @ Aug 26, 2005 -> 09:52 PM) Griffey apparently. Linder won't let him out.

QUOTE(scotty22hotty @ Aug 26, 2005 -> 03:22 PM) Felix is overrated. Hes only pitched against the Twins, KC and the Tigers... he wont last 5 innings against the Sox. Do you still think he is overrated now?
