Since Santana keeps throwing first pitch strikes, why not swing at that if the pitch is good enough? -

QUOTE(santo=dorf @ Sep 16, 2005 -> 09:48 PM) Let's sweep these f***s to eliminate them from the division title race (EN=3) In the dome too, which would be sweet. -

QUOTE(Queen Prawn @ Sep 16, 2005 -> 09:27 PM) The Cincinnati Reds overcame a frightening injury to Sean Casey and handed Zach Duke his first major league loss. I saw the play while I was at the gym. It looked nasty. Hope Sean is okay. I hope that he will be fine .

QUOTE(fathom @ Sep 16, 2005 -> 07:46 PM) Don't let Nick c***o's size fool you. That wasn't a very tough catch, nor was the liner back to Baker before. Jones was the only catch of the game that was a true tough catch. punto -
QUOTE(SoxPhan7 @ Sep 16, 2005 -> 03:26 PM) Everyone knows baseball players and their fans are very superstitious. I have noticed on the board people worry about the banner and i was reading the game thread tonight and see people are changing what they are wearing. I know over the past month I have taken the white sox blanket off my bed, changed my wall paper on my phone away from the sox logo and when the sox win I leave up my "Let's go Sox!" away message until they lose. Also, I think my girl friend is bad luck so if I am talking to her on the phone and the sox give up a hit or a run I hang up on her and tell her not to talk to me til the game is over. I am just wondering if I am crazy for being so superstitious or is everyone else like this. What are you guys doing? Same avatar........

I go throught the same routine of what i do everyday. I had the sox pride on my right wrist, but i took it off during the KC series to try and change something, on the way home from school i listen to Thunderstruck and Na Na Hey Hey Kiss Him Goodbye or whatever it;s called in a row. I wont turn on the game unless i listen to those songs. When i go to sleep i write down a L or W on the White Sox calender for what they did that day.... I'd say i;m a little superstitous.

QUOTE(The Ginger Kid @ Sep 15, 2005 -> 03:43 PM) and no matter how this ends you're gonna be back for more next year. Sucker! That's the sad part, back for another year of heartbreak!

QUOTE(SoxFan562004 @ Sep 15, 2005 -> 03:34 PM) How long until Hawk starts saying "Well the Sox want to grab the wild card instead, the last 3 world series winners have been wild card winners, not division winners, yeah, I like how that sets up for us" Tomorrow
-
Once the media started to say that they thought the sox would make the playoffs we suck. I blame the media!

QUOTE(spiderman @ Sep 15, 2005 -> 03:39 PM) Has the 2nd half of the season finally nailed home the point that Mark Burehle is NOT an ace pitcher ? Yes, he is probably still our best pitcher, and, like I have said previously, he is a good pitcher, but an ace he is not. This White Sox team was known for it's deep starting pitching and quality starts. It is also becoming known in the 2nd half as a staff, outside of, surprisingly Jose Contreras, as one that has not gotten the job done. Period. Brandon McCarthy has been as dependable or better in his last 3 outings than Garcia, Buerhle, and Garland and Guillen doens't want to use him.... I don't know about you guys, but I'm more than nervous at this point. The White Sox are choking away their great season..... Duh....

QUOTE(SoxFan562004 @ Sep 15, 2005 -> 03:25 PM) ok, i'm being serious here... The Sox are what 5.5 up in the Wild Card? How often do Red Sox/Yankees play? Please, I'm not trying to be an asshole, it's just that the Sox might have to start concerning themselves with this math I think they have been thinking about this lately too.
