QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ May 22, 2005 -> 11:40 AM) Sabathia was projected for 298. I didn't catch that. I'm sure after this season though Mark may be at a higher pace.

QUOTE(rangercal @ May 22, 2005 -> 11:33 AM) check this link out. It is from last year. But they have him projected to win 293 by age 40. I'm sure after this year he will be on pace for more. http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/columns/stor...yson&id=1849397 The only pitcher in all of baseball (50 wins or more) projected for more wins by 40 is Pedro Martinez.

Phil Rogers wants teams to bail out Cubs...

QUOTE(Middle Buffalo @ May 21, 2005 -> 06:22 PM) They owe us for Todd Ritchie. By that logic what do we owe the Cubs for Garland? We'll just sweep them and call everything even. -
I loved the Marlins before 2003. Remember when they beat the Indians in the WS in 97. I the marlins. They are definately my 2nd favorite team. I have a great Dontrelle willis home jersey I wear on Sox off days.

QUOTE(ottawa_sox @ May 21, 2005 -> 08:29 AM) After last night's game, I ran into an old friend on the walk home and ended up getting plastered 'till 2:00 AM. As a result the "crazy canuck paparazziing" as KipWellsFan coined it, was shamefully delayed. I found out about Brandon's call up from Juan Nieves, when I saw Arnie warming up before the game. I called him over and said "what happened to Brandon", fearing an injury and he pointed skyward. So I said "what, he died?" and he said "no, he got sent up". I asked him why Brandon's last couple of starts produced less than super human results. He said there was nothing wrong with Brandon. He was simply victimized by the band-box that is Charlotte's home field. He described the short fences and the easily reached power alleys and foul poles. I followed with: So, he isn't experiencing a "dead arm" phase and he said not at all. I guess being sent to the show is enough testament to his current strength. The other thing I noticed was that Frank ran out a ground ball with more authority, in the 5th, than any other attempt to run in the 4 games. So that was very encouraging. On the Brian Anderson front, he made an incredible throw for a strike to nail someone at home, drilled a ringing double his first time up and made a truely laughable error with the bases loaded on a routine fly ball with 2 outs. One of those catches that you see caught 999 times out of 1000. Oh well. Frank signed a baseball card for me, so that was cool, as a momento of his trip here. I took lots of pictures and will post a few of them when I get a chance. Right now I am in a hurray to pack and take off to the cottage for the weekend. But first to set the VCR to Sunday for Brandon's first victory. And just think, it's gonna come at the expense of Jesus. awesome story. lol "what he died?"

QUOTE(chisoxtime @ May 21, 2005 -> 09:05 AM) Scrub fans on their message board are saying that Fatass Zambrano is going to go after A-Row, and how dare anybody say anything about Fatass!!! They fail to mention that pretty much every team hates the slob!!!! Zambrano has to bat too. I say Jose will Lay a big fat one on Z's back.

QUOTE(The Critic @ May 20, 2005 -> 02:54 PM) Where it says "we digress", shouldn't that say "we disagree" about the Sox not having a devoted following? Minor nitpicking aside, that is a nice little note to Brooks. Good job. That's why you're the critic

QUOTE(greg775 @ May 19, 2005 -> 12:11 AM) Considering the fact the White Sox haven't exactly had the most stellar history of all teams, out there, with dozens of Hall of Famers, I was wondering if Mark Buehrle has become your favorite Sox player of all time. He gets the ball and pitches it w/out bleeping around. He has a good personality with the media and fans. He has never been a brat with his contract. Mark B is creeping into my top five Sox of all time. FRANK no doubt will always be my favorite. He has the advantage over everyone because he started when I was 8 years old. No matter how good someone becomes or is.... you can't replace your childhood favorite.

QUOTE(RibbieRubarb @ May 20, 2005 -> 11:37 AM) Didn't see it. Maybe it should have it's own thread. Jason was well-liked during this tenure here. definately should have it's own thread. Thanks for 93 and 94 Jason!

I voted sox vs cubs. I think we are over looked. We really hate each other. Ive seen NY vs NY first hand. It is not as intense. This is my honest un-biased opinion. I would rate Giants vs A's second

QUOTE(hammerhead johnson @ May 17, 2005 -> 01:39 AM) It would be a killer defensive squad (perhaps Top 5 in the NBA with San Antonio, Detroit, Indiana, and Memphis), not to mention one of the top rebounding teams. We'd have the most defensive depth in the entire league (Duhon, Hinrich, Bell, Nocioni, Ruffin, Chandler, Dalembert, etc). Scoring: 15-17 PPG Potential: Hinrich Gordon Deng 12-14 PPG Potential: Nocioni Dalembert 9-11 PPG Potential: Bell Chandler Harrington 6-8 PPG Potential: Duhon Ruffin Davis Sure, I'd like to have that 22-25 PPG threat. But I don't want to be the New York Knicks, you know? I want a defensive squad that can just wear people out. I want wins by submission, not some bulls*** shoot-outs. That s*** ain't basketball. We keep Curry, and we have a 18-20 PPG threat in the paint. But again, I don't want to be the New York Knicks. I don't want heartless, overpaid goofballs. I want a team of guys who will do absolutely anything that it takes to win. Most teams only have a couple of those guys nowadays...I want like 8 or 9 of them. Now there's a team that I can get behind. If we expect 9-11 ppg out of raja Bell = home for the playoffs next year. I guess your willing to give Tyson the Max? :headshake That's what he probably will ask for. Tyson sure looked great against ruffin, Thomas, and kwame Brown.

QUOTE(NUKE_CLEVELAND @ May 16, 2005 -> 04:18 PM) I think blown saves is a better indicator of whether we're costing ourselves games rather than looking at it in terms of number of leads blown overall. Thusfar I think we have 4 blown saves so actually JIMB408 wasn't far off in his statement that we should have 32 wins. I still can't believe that run gagne had. we would have 32 wins if we had a healthy gagne rather than shingo Or if we would have used hermy a few extra times.

Dye. He gets to face texas pitching rather than sox pitching for Hidalgo.

Jerry Reinsdorf on Eddy Curry's health
rangercal replied to Jabroni's topic in Alex’s Olde Tyme Sports Pub
QUOTE(DBAH0 @ May 14, 2005 -> 09:17 AM) Curry Backers: STAND UP FOR YOUR MAN!!! NOW!!! healthy or not. curry or chandler do not deserve the max. If curry is healthy I see know true justification to offer Tyson a higher contract than Eddy. Remember how great the high energy chandler became once playoff time arrived. He was more busy trash talking and cheap-shotting Brendan Haywood, rather than being consistent. He might have had good stats, but for those who actually watched the series know that Tysons' imaturity hurt us BIG TIME. -
QUOTE(AnthraxFan93 @ May 16, 2005 -> 12:55 PM) So Now I have the power to make you read my posts..Wow I guess all that work on the Jedi Mind Tricks are playing off.. I might as well put your ass on ignore. You seem to care more about kw failing rather then the sox succeeding.
