Official 2008-2009 NFL Offseason Thread
QUOTE (Brian @ Feb 28, 2009 -> 02:12 PM) NFL Network's Adam Schefter reports that Matt Cassel has been traded to the Chiefs. The Boston Globe's Mike Reiss has confirmed the news, which is part of the trade sending Mike Vrabel West. There were rumors Cassel could be involved in a three-team swap, but it appears Kansas City will be his final destination. Compensation has not been announced, but it's safe to say the Tyler Thigpen era is over before it started. Cassel may not have excelled in every system, but he's set up for great long-term success under GM Scott Pioli and coach Todd Haley, who will play to his strengths. A new contract is likely. Feb. 28 - 1:06 pm et bears should go after Thigpen. I like him

Norm Van Lier
Damn I met him while bartending at O'hare 5 years ago. He could drink like a champ. He ordered a double shot of straight vodka at 7am. ( I must have poured 4 shots in one serving though) , He ordered 2 all together lol. He was told me stories about when he coached -(once kicked an unnamed players ass in the locker room for dogging it) -he's not the biggest fan of Phil jackson It was such a pleasure to talk with him though. I miss him already

QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Feb 24, 2009 -> 11:46 AM) That Devin Harris shot was incredible. yeah it was. It is probably going to be a shot that will be remembered for generations. It would be for sure if it came from Kobe or Lebron.

Happy Birthday Steve9347!
Is it a coincidence that one of the biggest party animals has a birthday that lies on one of the biggest party days? I think not. I fully expect you to give your boss the finger, take the day off and head over to mardis gras. Happy Birthday Steve!

QUOTE (SoxFan101 @ Feb 18, 2009 -> 11:17 PM) If the Bulls find a way to deal Hinrich, I will definitely have a new found optimism for their future. Until now it seemed like we were going to be stuck in some kind of limbo. I am 75% sure he will get traded. Between all the press releases and playing 10 more minutes than Rose tonight, it gives me hope. Kirk looks great tonight so that can't hurt either.

Griffey going back "home"
ok now Frank back with the Sox. I'd DH him and put THome in CF over Owens. lol

QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Feb 18, 2009 -> 09:30 PM) There is also a rumor floating that Thabo will be traded for Noah Lowry or Jaryd Blayless. Not certain how much truth there is to this, but if the Bulls move Hinrich they will have a need for a PG of some sort and either on of these guys would be nice fits behind Rose. Plus Salmons comes in as a lengthier 2 guard and that is the one thing Sef currently possesses that none of the other Bulls guards do (aside from Hughes). no way we get bayless for Thabo. I would s*** my pants.

QUOTE (daa84 @ Feb 18, 2009 -> 06:46 PM) Salmons averages 8.4 ppg for his career. He is the clear #2 option on the Kings. I'll be willing to bet if Gordon were on the Kings hed score 25 ppg. I'd also be willing to bet that Salmons scores in the area of 12-13 per game for the bulls from here on out. The bulls already have John Salmons sitting on the bench and his name is Larry Hughes. He's another guy, thats it, and I'm sick of the bulls always trading for just another guy Gordon would be the clear #2 option on the Kings too. So what's your point? How you just compared Salmons to Larry Hughes is beyond me. Salmons actually makes his shots.

QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Feb 18, 2009 -> 05:39 PM) According to 670 via David Aldridge, the Bulls just got John Salmons and Brad Miller for Drew Gooden and Andres Nocioni. At least we're rid of the Noc contract. awesome! NOW kirk for kaman! ( yes, I have lost all hope for Amare or Bosh)
