  1. If this hot streak continues it will be hard to ignore (like tcq) . Not saying he will, just saying he will with those type of numbers. Let's see where he stands on May 1st. He is just so valuable at the utility slot and will be an asset as a pinch hitter. I feel so much better about the team with the Fields/getz/betemit situation. A very good problem to have. (hopefully it turns out to be a good problem)
  2. QUOTE (jenks45monster @ Mar 25, 2009 -> 08:48 PM) So many names to choose from. BA, Getz, Richard, Marquez, or Fields could all do well in my opinion. But be the biggest surprise? I like Marquez or Richard for that. I hope one of them (if not both) gets a chance to start in the Bigs for a while this year. Which is a good thing and reminds me of spring training last year. I thought we had some major holes before the season started.
  3. QUOTE (bighurt4life @ Mar 25, 2009 -> 08:11 PM) Yeah, I don't really think that anyone would be "surprised" to see Getz have a good season This is true. But, I was more asking who is this year's version of TCQ,Floyd,Lexi or Danks? Surprised if Getz has a good season? No Surprised if he could fit in with those names? Yes Anything is possible...
  4. QUOTE (Brian @ Mar 25, 2009 -> 07:26 PM) Exactly. And if needed, more than 2 games. Unless you wish we kept Duhon to back up Rose. I'm more for consolidating our roster. I'm tired of 35+ min caliber players getting 15. Especially close to 10 mil a year. I don't see New Orleans or Utah making backup pg a priority. If what we all envision with Rose is true, neither should Chicago.
  5. I'm talking about the less proven players on the current roster below the age of 30. If Thome, Dye or Konerko hit .270 and 30+ hrs it would be nice, but not really a big surprise. Who is this year's version of TCQ,Floyd,Lexi or Danks? Put me on the Betimit bandwagon. Huge prospect at one time, could be a late bloomer, tearing the cover off the ball this spring.
  6. Is Curt Schilling a hall of famer? well.... Is Kevin Brown a hall of famer? I will say no.
  7. woohoo! Bears agreed to terms with OT Kevin Shaffer on a three-year contract. A 47-game starter for Cleveland from 2006-2008, Shaffer has been durable throughout his career and can play both tackle spots. His strength is in the run game, making Shaffer a good fit in Chicago. He will likely be penciled in at swing tackle behind LT Chris Williams and RT Frank Omiyale for now.
  8. QUOTE (Brian @ Mar 25, 2009 -> 05:11 AM) And that is why you don't trade Hinrich. So he could fill in as a starter 1-2 games a year? If he is not gone this summer, I will look at the off-season as a failure.
  9. QUOTE (lostfan @ Mar 24, 2009 -> 07:46 PM) MLM is legit. The expectations of some, and their tactics and reasons for doing it are not though. They started losing my attention when they'd say "you don't have to sell things if you don't want to." What? Why? Everyone I know who sells or has sold stuff like Tupperware and Mary Kay tries to sell that stuff. So you're telling me I can just sit on my ass, call people, get money from them, and start raking in an extra 2K a month? The company might not be a ponzi scheme, but doing it like that is. I think you have things all wrong. 1) There are no limitations on earnings when you do MLM. What you put in is what you get out. (unlike the glass ceilings for most jobs) The right person, with the right mindset can make it work. In my opinion, less than 5% of people in our current society have the drive to rake in 2k+ a month in MLM. 2) If you don't want to sell Tupperware, find a MLM company that works for you. (There are thousands of MLM companies) 3) They may be right when they say you don't have to sell. You can refer people and collect commissions from their sales . Of course if everyone under you uses the same tactics then you won't make anything. So in the end it is probably wise to sell. Lead by example so the people in your network follow what you do. Fact is, the company has products, so it is not a ponzi scheme.
  10. QUOTE (nitetrain8601 @ Mar 24, 2009 -> 07:09 PM) Actually though, I still believe the Bears gave up on Terry Shea way too early considering with the small sample size of Grossman running it, they were pretty damn efficient. Please don't bring back such awful memories
  11. How is this not front page news at espn!? Because it's not gossip or storyline worthy.
  12. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Mar 24, 2009 -> 04:09 PM) Are you saying I don't know anything about baseball? /threadjack no, It's not a bash at you, more like praise and appreciation toward Kalapse. I'm just saying Kalapse is a walking baseball encyclopedia and when it comes to Sox discussion he is incomparable.
  13. QUOTE (lostfan @ Mar 24, 2009 -> 03:57 PM) I was going to put MLM in the title but I figured nobody would open the thread if I did. Anyway, yeah, I know that MLM as an idea is legit (I'm pretty sure that's Amway's business model isn't it?) but when the focus is entirely on getting new people to invest more capital, I don't trust it. You need to invest money, time and effort. Most people do not want to invest time and effort so they end up losing their money in the end. MLM is legit and definitely takes advantage of people who are looking to get rich quick (not sure who should be at fault here) . Just like anything else, you need to throw some time and effort at it too, or it will not work. Even though I am not in MLM, I would advise to take a crack at it only if you would treat it like a legitimite business. I can never see myself ever doing it because I do not want to call everyone I know with the same opportunity.
  14. ^^^^^^ agreed (since this is a sox discussion site first) Happy Birthday!
  15. It's not a Ponzi Scheme. It is called MLM (google it) The people who get off their ass and make it work can make some good bank off it. Unfortunately, most Americans have a strong employee state of mind and have a hard time with independent ventures. Most of us need a boss on our ass.
  16. Bulls Vs The East 16-25 Bulls Vs The West 17-13 I guess I'm not surprised. The Bulls never make any sense.
  17. I love the optimism Stevo. Anything can happen and I like your thinking!
  18. QUOTE (MurcieOne @ Mar 19, 2009 -> 11:38 AM) Trent Dilfer is great on NFL Live. However, if your going to use him as a part of a trend... you may want to include some additional names. Last 12 SuperBowls 98 -- Elway, Favre (both pro bowlers) 99 -- Elway, Chandler (both pro bowlers) 00 -- Warner, McNair (both pro bowlers 01 -- Dilfer, Collins (neither pro bowlers) 02 -- Brady, Warner (both pro bowlers) 03 -- Johnson, Gannon (both pro bowlers) 04 -- Brady, Delhomme (both pro bowlers) 05 -- Brady, McNabb (both pro bowlers) 06 -- Roethlisberger, Hasselback (both pro bowlers) 07 -- Manning, Grossman (manning -- PB) 08 -- Manning, Brady (Brady -- PB) 09 -- Roethlisberger, Warner (both pro bowlers) 20 of the last 24 SB Qb's made the pro bowl. Now that fact is not without its faults... but i think its generally indicative that Trent Dilfer is an exception to the rule... and definitely not a TREND. This is enough evidence for me! Nice Work!
  19. QUOTE (whitesoxbrian @ Mar 22, 2009 -> 06:40 PM) So the Bulls have 2 first round picks. Do they have any 2nd rounders? http://tinyurl.com/chx2bs
  20. chicken and Jalapenos . Thank me tomorrow morning
  21. QUOTE (santo=dorf @ Mar 12, 2009 -> 09:42 PM) The blackhawks board is amazingly dead, futuresox is hacked, and the talk big ten board hasn't had a member register or post made since November....2007! wow. Did not realize FS was hacked. When did this happen?
