  1. QUOTE (tonyho7476 @ Apr 28, 2008 -> 03:10 PM) Yeah, but how much do you spend on weed? I guess you don't want to waste more money if you don't have to. Most people will spend about 60 bucks every two weeks or so.
  2. QUOTE (watchtower41 @ Apr 28, 2008 -> 02:50 PM) this one may take awhile to complete....and very pleased that I didn't have tickets for this one. Snowflakes coming down here in the North Shore. 38 degrees in the loop.
  3. Richar outproduced Juan's 2006, 2007, 2008 (so far) and almost his 2005 season at the dish. Richar in limited time put up .230 .289 .406. But he showed improvement in his avg, OBP, and SLG month over month. You would think that trend would continue which would put him above Uribe's career numbers by the end of the season if he was playing everyday. His obp should be the first stat he trumps Uribe in, which is the most important IMO.
  4. QUOTE (greg775 @ Apr 28, 2008 -> 01:32 PM) Cut bait on Uribe. Second basemen are a dime a dozen. When will Danny be ready. When he's healthy, insert him in lineup. Richar plays good D, turns a decent dp and should hit better than Juan. Juan is a defensive replacement at this point in his career, he simply cannot get on base.
  5. QUOTE (WCSox @ Apr 28, 2008 -> 02:28 PM) I don't agree with that at all, especially with the Sox recovering over $13 million in payroll flexibility from Cabrera and Uribe this winter, and Contreras, Thome, and Dotel coming off the books after next season. Agreed with the rest of your post. Investing in a (younger) veteran SS might not be a bad idea, either. Crede is going to make more than 13 million per year im guessing, and its going to have to be more than 4 or 5 years. For his production, that cripples a team. We have zero young talent coming up in our system, we need to buy at least one pitcher, possible an infielder and maybe a catcher within the next few years.
  6. I really like the late round picks that the Bears got, and as a homer I love the Kirk Barton pick. He was an all big ten tackle and played on some very good running offenses, I think he can step in right away if Tait was hurt.
  7. QUOTE (CanOfCorn @ Apr 28, 2008 -> 10:48 AM) I didn't drink until college (except for the little nips of beer or wine or champagne I would get at functions) and I'm glad I did...BUT, I certainly didn't judge others for drinking in high school. Unless they did something stupid. If someone wants to go to a friends house, drink a little too much, take a cab home and sleep it off. Fine. Or go to a game, keep buy a scorecard and only keep score of what half inning you finished your beer, stumble to the "L," and get home in one piece. Fine. It's called responsibility, and no matter what you are doing in life, you have some. Leave judging to the judges. I drank alot in HS, college and now. Your last sentence is the key. I've gone to Sox games and sat in the Jim Beam seats and got blacked out drunk, but I did not act like an idiot. Most of those kids that are acting that way are drinking early on in their career and dont know how to handle it. But it all comes down to what type of person you are and can you handle yourself in public. There are several countries without drinking laws like ours, and they have kids younger than 20 that are perfectly fine, responsible drunks. Its the person, not the age or law.
  8. QUOTE (CryptviLL @ Apr 25, 2008 -> 02:12 PM) Well so is weed being illegal.. but thats another story Dont even get me started on that.....
  9. QUOTE (scenario @ Apr 27, 2008 -> 09:53 PM) Logan Johnson has the 5th highest OPS in the South Atlantic League (.995). And he may be the shortest player in that league. For serious, I liked him in college ever, good hitter, gets on base.
  10. QUOTE (almagest @ Apr 28, 2008 -> 12:30 PM) Ok, so I'm still waiting for a coherent justification as to how a hitter with a 79 career OPS+ is good. It seems all you can do is seize on somewhat extreme statements on how bad Uribe is and use them for evidence as to why he's good. Either that, or praise Uribe for hitting 20 homers and still somehow managing a slugging percentage in the low .400s or high .300s. Uribe took him to dinner. Thats pretty much his whole reasoning.
  11. QUOTE (rafacosta @ Apr 28, 2008 -> 12:32 PM) The way I see this is: sign Crede for an extension. Get Fields to play 1B which would bring better D at that position and a younger player. Trading PK you can actually get more in return than trading Thome. I know he can veto any trade b/c of the 5-10 rule but I would assume he would like to go to a contending team. We can even get some young starting pitching in exchange. In addition, finding DHs is easy...or we can even put Dye as the DH. Well, this is a perfect world that I am assuming... I dont see how that makes any sense for the sake of this team's future. Signing Crede long term will cripple the club financially, especially with a capable young minimum wage guy waiting in the wings. Its much easier to find a 1B than a 3B that hits for power. Konerko has severalgood years left and he is signed below his market value, alot of people dont even realize he's younger than DLEE on the northside. Trading Dye would be the only one that makes sense since we have an abundance of outfielders that can play and Q's natural position is RF, Swish can play LF and you hope BA develops in CF. That is an above avg defensive OF and they all hit for power and two of them get on base at a ridiculous rate. You take the money you save on Dye and Crede's salary, and you sign a pitcher hopefully.
  12. QUOTE (Jimbo's Drinker @ Apr 27, 2008 -> 09:27 PM) How are Quentin and f***domes number comparisions? .329 .452 .934 For f***udome .288 .435 .996 for Q Fuk's number are somewhat going down and Q's up. But Q hits with more power obviously, hes slugging .562
  13. QUOTE (greg775 @ Apr 27, 2008 -> 09:58 PM) I hope it's a minor skid. Major is like a Ryan Howard 2-for-35. That would not be good. I think his patience will help some of the skids, at least he'll be on base, which may lead to him hitting a few mistakes as well.
  14. Still waiting for these "Red flags"
  15. QUOTE (Jimbo's Drinker @ Apr 27, 2008 -> 06:42 PM) No move Thome, Dye to DH and get a CF. The guy has been our best hitter for multiple seasons now, why in the hell would we do that?
  16. Traded for a pitcher.......Oh I thought this was what we thought should happen.
  17. I wouldnt be upset if the Bears took Morelli from PSU. He was a top talent out of HS and PSU pretty much didnt help his progression.
  18. QUOTE (knightni @ Apr 27, 2008 -> 02:28 PM) Jerry Angelo needs to go. He can't draft at all. Hasnt he drafted 6 or more pro bowlers in late rounds the last several years? Thats pretty good. Check out the Lions for poor drafting textbooks
  19. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Apr 27, 2008 -> 02:19 PM) So, Andre Woodson is a 7th rounder. Sucks for him. I don't understand that at all. He has an extremely slow release, didnt show much ability to adjust either.
  20. And Swish really was robbed of a good day today, he hit the ball hard all day and was robbed at the wall and at 1B
  21. QUOTE (JorgeFabregas @ Apr 27, 2008 -> 03:52 PM) I'm not saying that ALL his hbps have to do with his stance. Everyone gets hit once in a while. I'm saying the fact that he's going to lead the league in HBPs DOES have to do with his stance. It also has alot to do with the fact that he hugs the plate and hits things well out over the plate and has a ton of power to right field. The book on him is to pitch inside and his hole is low inside. If you continue to hammer the inside like that, you will hit a batter eventually.

    LOST!!!!

QUOTE (Tony82087 @ Apr 25, 2008 -> 05:01 PM) Right, but Ben mentioned to Widmore that he killed his daughter, which wouldn't add up to the time BEFORE the freighter got to the island. Well if he went back in time, his daughter would be dead in the future, and he went back to tell him about it. Theres alot of time-moving in the show right now.
  23. QUOTE (knightni @ Apr 27, 2008 -> 10:57 AM) I want Andre Woodson, dammit! He should be on the board awhile, there are still several QB's that may go before him.
