QUOTE(Allsox @ Mar 2, 2008 -> 04:48 PM) "The effects of signing Grinderstad continue..." Without question, the Sox have dealt Brian Anderson a raw deal. In '06, he finally started coming around with the bat then Ozzie benches him. In '07 spring training, they couldn't wait to put Darin Erstad in CF over Brian despite the fact Brian hit very well. Yes, Brian's attitude is a bit of a problem but his CF defense hasn't or wasn't ever a problem. Brian could hit 1.000 in ST and Ozzie/KW will still start Owens. I just don't get it. How about Owens has proven a better hitter in the MLB and this spring training. I dont know how much more clearer it can get.

QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Mar 1, 2008 -> 09:32 PM) Boylan is freaking terrible....terrible. Maybe 1 percent of how bad this team is his fault, maybe. Ben Gordon is completely useless, Kirk is a shell of his former self and the team plays zero defense right now. The players are at fault, bar none.

QUOTE(greg775 @ Feb 29, 2008 -> 01:37 AM) I didn't know a lot of Sox fans took the El to the games. I thought most people drove. My bad. I even take the #8 bus down there quite frequently.

Kenny f***ing hates prospects, duh.

2 for me, just got my new one a couple of weeks ago. I get them to remind me of stages in my life and would never regret them. If I did, I got all black which is the easiest to remove. Removal has improve so much over the years if I ever decided to it should be fairly simple by then.

QUOTE(Felix @ Feb 29, 2008 -> 07:35 PM) The green isn't necessary there. Sure it is, there is no way in hell the Sox ever trade Fields at this point, if they keep Crede (who hasnt sucked his whole career like stated) Fields would be in AAA. Basically there wasnt much truth or sense to the post, so yes, green was necessary.

What if we trade crede and fields sucks?

QUOTE(farmteam @ Feb 26, 2008 -> 08:30 PM) I'll need to get one or two soon. How much should a cheaper one cost me? My last were 2 for 350 at mens warehouse, 415 or so after alterations.

QUOTE(fathom @ Feb 26, 2008 -> 08:06 PM) Rock....that game can't help your chances of KK returning. You think he's gone? My guess is one more season for him. -

I never saw Evan Turner play high school ball, but he may end up being a nice college player. -
QUOTE(sircaffey @ Feb 26, 2008 -> 07:10 PM) Robertson and Bonderman were both trending positively each year of their careers. Each year improving consistently until taking a step back last season. Last season doesn't fit in line with how their careers have gone. I would gladly substitute Willis for either Danks or Floyd this upcoming season. Gladly. I would take Danks over Willis, but Willis over Floyd I think.

Someone woke up koufos finally. Diebler travels for the 5th time this game. Who did that kid play against in HS? 5'4" kids? He outscored LeBron in HS and he looks like this? I wouldnt look at another player from that area again seriously if I was Matta. -
QUOTE(Markbilliards @ Feb 26, 2008 -> 05:56 PM) I'm not disagreeing with you necessarily, but how in the world would you know that Konerko is not a leader in the locker room? We probably see about 3% of what goes on off the field. To avoid posting things that could not be appropriate to share, I will say I meant that that was my opinion.

Wanna see a team sleepwalking through the rest of the season, check out Ohio State tonight. Awful. Matta has yet to switch to a man defense this season, even with two top tier defenders in Butler and Lighty. Packin it in for next season I guess. -
He responds to my emails as well, in fact we have had some battles on there, with him coming up short on evidence, but its nice nonetheless that he responds. Good post dude, apprecitate the info.

QUOTE(sox4lifeinPA @ Feb 26, 2008 -> 05:12 PM) I think suit buying is an art that I have no skill in. I'm happy with my picks, though. I got mine from Men's Warehouse. good price, nice looking. I don't have to wear mine too often...and there's no way I'm ever spending 1k on a suit. Mens warehouse is good for quick good value suits, I get alot there. Check out Macy's once in awile though, they will have good designer ones on sale.

Also, for the posters who havent yet chosen a school to attend, take a good look at what you want to experience. If its not related to partying, dont go to a school where that seems to be the chosen activity, go to a schoo located in a city where you can explore the arts and meet other people who like the things you do.

QUOTE(Heads22 @ Feb 25, 2008 -> 02:23 PM) Are you concerned about being mature or having other people see you as mature? Not trying to be snarky about it either, but you are throwing that around an awful lot. No ones even saying you have to drink. But the socialization that you're having just isn't total socialization. Try going out without drinking. You'll strike up conversations, see people from your classes and you'll make friends. Hell, if it makes you uneasy, just carry around a cup of beer that you won't drink, so people don't say anything. But you're losing a chance to network and meet people. That's all. On a side note, stuff like Magic...if you want to be seen as mature, those two just don't jive. Sorry. Again, not trying to be snarky, but in all honesty, that doesn't come across as something that a "mature" person would be into - at least, a well adjusted one. I was reading these posts and wanted to share some bits of wisdom from someone who is entering their late 20's. Nobody really looks back on those times in life in HS and College and says I wish I had less fun. Nobody looks back and says I wish I settled down sooner back then and I wish I experienced less. Most people express the exact opposite. Take each year with the utmost care and consideration. If your mode is one to make sure you make the most out of small connections and settling down, thats fine, but take a look at some things you may want to accomplish or experience before you get to the point in life where its impossible.

Grey pinstripe, Black, charcoal, reg gray, blue, black pin. I just got two more "travel" suits from Mens Warehouse for 350. I use those to travel because I wear out suits very quickly. I try and keep my nicer >$1000 suits longer by not traveling in them and using them for more formal occasions. most are 3 button.

Hill, Lieber, Dempster Horrible back of the rotation. Maybe one of the worst around. Lieber and Dempster have the ability to put up 5+ERA's in the NL, Hill should flirt with 4 again. No closer, no middle relief, question mark set up guy.

2006 White Sox, Juggernaut?
-
They may not have been intense alot of the times last season, but it can definately be argued that the team had a lack of leadership. Konerko is not a leader no matter what Ozzie says. The guy does not command the locker room like a team leader should. He is a quiet lead by example leader, like Thome, like Crede, etc. It has been said the most vocal leader of our 2005 championship team was Carl Everett. The additon of Cabrera who was said to be the heart and soul of the Angels and some younger energy like swish and Quentin should put a new spin on this team. Even some of the vet pen guys should lend some fire to that part of the team.

QUOTE(thedoctor @ Feb 24, 2008 -> 06:42 PM) oh, hell yeah, but i have a hard time seeing that happen. No doubt in my mind. In fact I think that all three running backs mentioned will make a better impact than the top two picks being discussed right now (Long and Gholston). McFadden is going to be a very good game changing back, and I think Mendenhall will be as well. He should be a good sleeper as his offensive scheme and his conference may make him slip. I still think the Bears reach for a QB or take an o-line guy.
