The 2 aces didnt show up and the offense lost their bats. Game. Boston once again proves they win when it counts

QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Oct 21, 2007 -> 09:17 PM) My dad called and said Griese's in-helmet mic/speaker wasn't working, so the last drive was all him calling the plays. Can anyone confirm if this is true? I find that rather funny. He was pointing to his helmet and was motioning like it wasnt working.

QUOTE(Gregory Pratt @ Oct 21, 2007 -> 06:13 PM) Rex Grossman could never, ever lead a drive like that. 100% true. Griese made it look almost easy. Great throws downfield to Berrian, Moose and Hester.

QUOTE(knightni @ Oct 21, 2007 -> 09:14 PM) Man. What a choke job. Yup. Of course we have seen this before from Cle (2005)

The bears defense is pathetic

QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Oct 20, 2007 -> 09:17 PM) Choke? Hilarious. These are the two best teams in baseball facing off against each other. Both lineups are extremely tough. Yeah, they're might be some nerves at work here but I love that it can never just be one team is better than the other (on that night) -- there's always got to be a side story. If someone would've told me before the series that it didn't go six or seven games, I would've been shocked. Well, the offensive output from very consistently good players is outside of the norm, the laying of eggs by two of the best pitchers in the league is out of the norm. When extremely good players appear to perform poorly whilst under playoff pressure is usually somewhat of a choke job. If you dont think that Carmona's nerves got the best of him last night then you need to re-watch the game. Both teams are very good, Boston just seems to play better when more is on the line, and Cle appears to be playing worse.

QUOTE(Jenksismyb**** @ Oct 21, 2007 -> 05:13 PM) In terms of officiating this wasn't the Anthony Thomas two bogus fumble calls that literally gave the win to Michigan to the point it looked downright fishy type game. But there were a few I thought were questionable. The roughing the punter should have been the 5 yard variety. And I think the pass interference penalty a few plays later was bogus. If they start calling that regularly, every coach across the country should tell their qb's to throw the ball 10 yards short of their receivers anytime you get a one on one matchup on the outside. It wasn't a catchable ball and the refs shouldn't have bailed out the qb by calling interference just because he wasn't facing the ball. He went underneath the punters leg, that will always be that call. And illinois was all over the Michigan receivers especially on that drive. -

They need to bring Skille back up to ensure the dev of all their young guys. This is obviously going to be a team run by Kane and Toews, so lets bring up all the young talent. -

QUOTE(whitesoxfan99 @ Oct 20, 2007 -> 10:26 PM) Congrats UM. Mendenhall still being completely underutilized. No reason not to have 25-30 carries every single game. The QB roulette is just ridiculous. And a big f*** you to Joe Morgan and Kyle Hudson, those two gave Michigan the game tonight. So....basically U of I isnt as good as Michigan. Pretty poor showing by a team that needed a win. The QB position is lacking as is the secondary. No reason U of I shouldnt have taken that game if they really wanted it. If there was any time to beat big blue it was tonight with no Hart and no Henne. U of I just isnt there yet, they are a middle of the pack team. -

For the first time in many years, the team actually looks like its having fun, and enjoying playing hockey with each other. The young guns are adding more than their talent to this team. -
Cle is folding under the pressure. Hafner is laying a huge egg in this series. They look very wide-eyed out there.

Cle just doesnt seem to have that extra gear that WS winners have.

Kane's ice vision is remarkable. I can only compare it to Gretzkey and Crosby's, its on a higher level than most players. -

Besides Boekman trying to shave points, OSU flat out smacked MSU in the mouth. 3 points allowed by the defense, 185 total yards, 59 on the ground. -

That bring up a good question. Do the phillies stay longer in the playoffs with a healthy Freddy Garcia?

First of all, nobody is worth that contract. Its absurd. Secondly, I would pay for Santana before I would pay for A-rod

They need to keep Kane Toews and Rutuu together on that line -
QUOTE(witesoxfan @ Oct 17, 2007 -> 04:02 PM) That, and Peter Angelos being crazy about trading studs, is why the Sox would probably have to include Gio or DLS in that deal too. I wouldnt trade either one of those guys in that scenario. Which would probably kill it unless he wants Poreda.

QUOTE(dasox24 @ Oct 17, 2007 -> 01:58 PM) Ha, okay... Anyway, this should be a fun year watching Tennessee beat up on the SEC. Final 4... Book it. I not only enjoyed beating the vols once, but even more the second time. We should have packaged in a lesson about how to wear headbands properly as well. -
They are both great hitters. But Manny may go down at the best right handed hitter in the modern era.
