QUOTE(Buehrle>Wood @ Oct 8, 2007 -> 01:25 PM) Rox are good enough to take down the BoSox if they get them IMO. BoSox have better pitching than every team left in the playoffs.

QUOTE(Brian @ Oct 7, 2007 -> 11:49 AM) Caliendo does good impressions, but he is not very funny. Once the impressions get old, what is there? Dave Coulier

Whoa, I wouldnt go that far about USC. They have about 6 Rb's I would take in a heartbeat. I do like how you kept OSU out of that bet though. -
Red Baron looks like Flyboys

They should be running a fake reversed to Hester EVERY time he is in the game. OSU used to run variations of that play 10-12 times a game when Ted Ginn was there. It forces the defense to stay home and opens up running lanes in the middle. They ran it once this game and gave it to Hester. Secondly, this O-line needs a gut check. Their run blocking is horrendous. Olsen needs to be in the game 50-70 percent of the time. He simply is a human mismatch, please exploit it. Wolfe needs to see more time in the game as well, especially in the shotgun.

QUOTE(danman31 @ Oct 8, 2007 -> 11:32 AM) Hart was injured a bit or his numbers would probably be better. Stop the Mendenhall for Heisman talk. It's 5 games in and the guy won't be in the top 10. Right now he is riding on destroying Wisconsin, nice job. He's a good back. However, he got shut down by Penn St. and Missouri and destroyed Western, Indiana, and Syracuse. He will need to do what he did against Wisconsin against another good team before you can throw his name around in the same category as Mike Hart. I have a feeling you just opened up a can of worms in this thread. -
QUOTE(Gregory Pratt @ Oct 8, 2007 -> 10:44 AM) Your signature's not kid-friendly. Children might see it and smoke pot. -- Griese looked alright last night. Better than Grossman. I hope so, the snack food industry has been lagging in sales this fiscal

The fact that they have a thread on their board about us says enough about who hates who. Both fan bases of die hards just dont like each other, and its been that way since 1900

QUOTE(Steve9347 @ Oct 8, 2007 -> 09:54 AM) I defended Griese after last week's game in Detroit if you want to go back a few posts... so yeah, looks like i am. I think your signatures are out of compliance with the sites guidelines.

QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Oct 7, 2007 -> 12:16 AM) I echo these statements. That was the most fun I have had at the UC in a long, long time. There are real players to build around, finally. The top line really shined tonight, and as you said, adding Toews to the mix will only make things better. It still was clear the talent level between Detroit and the Hawks is large, but the gap is closing. The Wings really controlled the tempo for most of the night, and especially in OT. I was there too. Great crowd, team looked solid. Kane has Gretzky-like passing touch and vision, im not saying he is going to be anywhere near as good of a player, but i see the skill that made him the #1 pick. Also the booing of Wirtz during the ceremony was classless IMO. -

Man, its not even possible for someone to agree that one of the best backs in the country is better than a back at Illinois. -

QUOTE(Rex Hudler @ Oct 6, 2007 -> 10:24 PM) Wouldn't it be crazy for OSU to go undefeated and win it all this year, after losing so many players from last year's great team? Then again, something like that wouldn't be unprecedented. Tennessee's NC came the year after Peyton Manning graduated. 8 first team big ten players. yet charliee Weis gets a bye for losing Brady Quinn. Shows you how much on different levels OSU is than ND -

QUOTE(Buehrle>Wood @ Oct 6, 2007 -> 10:05 PM) I'm kind of worried about them. I think there maybe a chance they get exposed somewhere down the line. Right now their best wins are over 2-3 Washington and Purdue. Purdue is fraud at 5-0 though, as their best win is Notre Dame at home. So yeah, I think the jury should certainly still be out on OSU, and all 4 of those teams could give them a game. Ending your season against 4 top 25 teams or programs is no easy task no matter who you are. You mean the WU that took USC to the line? OSU isnt the best team in the country, but is the best in the weak ass big Ten -
QUOTE(Gene Honda Civic @ Oct 6, 2007 -> 06:45 PM) Fields hit .240/.308/.496 in the second half. Young hit .242/.314/.509 in the second half, and has added 2 HR in 3 post-season games. I don't see how you can make either of those claims using those stats. * * * * * What's interesting is that Fields can't hit a fastball, and Young has trouble with the off-speed stuff. So because Josh wasn't in post season play you are penalizing him? why dont you check out the stats before you make such bold assumptions. Fields is the superior offensive player so far. 178 games .237 .295 .467 .763 32 hr 68 rbi 85 runs 29 2B 100 games .244 .308 .480 .788 23 hr 67 RBI 54 runs 17 2B Go ahead and calculate what Josh would do in the full season that Young had. Then compare players. Young is a good player, but as of now, he isnt what fields is
-
QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Oct 6, 2007 -> 05:36 PM) Young's swing is a lot more compact than Josh's, I personally think Chris has a higher upside offensively than Fields. Could be, but as of right now, Josh appears to be not only improving faster, but also out producing Young as well.
-
QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Oct 6, 2007 -> 05:04 PM) I'd agree that they're similar batters, but one plays a strong CF and the other is struggling to stay at third and will probably end up in LF. Also... a to Young for another dinger. I think Josh will end up being better offensively, and will be an above avg LF'er. With that said, Chris Young could be Mike Cameron 2 in Cf, which says alot.
-
QUOTE(witesoxfan @ Oct 5, 2007 -> 04:17 PM) I'd take Chris Young over Fields, simply because I think he'll be the better all-around player while having similar power. I invision Young being about a .900 OPS guy with the speed to steal 30 or more bases while playing pretty rangy defense in CF, which is far harder to fill than LF or 3B. On the other hand, I could easily see Fields turning into a 40 homer guy (on the extreme, somewhere between Adam Dunn and Ryan Howard, likely with fewer walks; it's also unrealistic to expect that type of production out of a second year player, so it may take some time). All in all, those are probably the shining stars of the past 3-5 years, which sucks when Young is in a different uniform. I honestly think that all around Young may only be better because he is superior in the field, although Josh has the potential to be a VERY good LF'er once he learns it. He has a great arm and is very athletic. Offensively I think Josh will continue to be superior to Young.

So.....suffice to say that Wisco was overrated? The Big Ten is so evenly bad this year, anyone can win any game at any time. -
I hope everyone on here now refers to Josh Fields in the same way as Chris Young is being portrayed. Future star, current stud, etc etc, and we have a prospect in Fields who is offensively superior already, I hope everyone remembers that.
-
big deal. It was aa good trade. Young is a good young player right now, but he is no superstar right now so why is everyone treating him like so?
-
Its going to be pretty hard to beat Cle in a 3 game series with CC and Fausto in their rotation. AZ went all the way with Schilling and RJ, I think Cle could have the same set up with CC and Fausto

QUOTE(kapkomet @ Oct 5, 2007 -> 02:42 PM) Ya'll are talking about it, so it must be effective. It is annoyingly effective. The thing I dont appreciate is that if I owned my own business, i would really respect the image that I project to the public. I want the image of my company to be equal to that of my character and my company's values. All Gillespie is telling me is that they are desperate, weak willed, and willing to hire a crack head to drive up just a little bit of business. Shock marketing like theirs that draws negative attention towards your business is not something I would personally take part in.
