AND THAT'S A WHITE SOX LOSER!
QUOTE(kwolf68 @ Sep 13, 2006 -> 02:22 PM) I think Bobby Jenks is the most over-rated closer in baseball...his ERA is almost at 4...Doesnt HE get some of the blame for that loss? Overrated huh? Yeah, most saves for a second year player, def overrated.

QUOTE(Soxbadger @ Sep 13, 2006 -> 01:16 PM) No, what I am suggesting is that there is no way to prove that there is a correlation between Bonds decline this year and his lack of using steriods. Correct me if I am wrong, but I thought that in general the scientific community did not conclusively agree that steriod use would help you hit the ball farther. Maybe its due to injury, but his improvements were steroid related, and thats enough correlation for me.

QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Sep 13, 2006 -> 12:35 AM) Even then, it still takes oil to run the farm equipment. Not if you use Oxen.

My Left Knee, Torn to Shreds
Luckily you are young enough that you can bounce back in your HS career. I too have had not only the bad lucky of knee injury, but horrible ankle, and shoulder ones as well. The key is to take it easy when they tell you, and when you are ready, rehab like its the only thing you care about in the world. Oh and 10 years from now, good luck on airplanes.

AND THAT'S A WHITE SOX LOSER!
QUOTE(BearSox @ Sep 13, 2006 -> 06:39 AM) This team doesn't dersve to go to the playoffs. How are they in contention still? I would rather see a real team represent the AL Central then this joke of a Manager ruining our team. 4 games out of first, and 2 1/2 out of the wildcard. This team has to win at least 14 out of the next 17 to even have a chance, IMO. And you know what, go twins. they stepped up this final month, ready to try and not only take the wildcard, but the division as well. And look at their team talent and salary wise to this team. Yes yes, when in doubt, blame the manager.

QUOTE(shawnhillegas @ Sep 12, 2006 -> 09:37 PM) MIRACLE HOMERUN???? thats almost as ridiculous as the meatball comments. Yes, Miracle homerun, if you have tivo, go ahead and rewind. Only Vlad hits those pitches with consistency.

QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Sep 12, 2006 -> 09:33 PM) Actually Rock, I am more upset with the walk with no one on base. If he gives up a single and a jack its a heck of a lot better than our control pitcher giving up free runs because he is pitching away from contact. Come on, one of the best hitters in the MLB and there is an open base? Why wouldnt you pitch around him?
-
Gamethread: 9/12, Sox v. Angels
Its ridiculous the fans on here sometimes. A Miracle homerun on a pitch that was almost impossible to hit out of the park, and he's "throwing meatballs"

QUOTE(fathom @ Sep 12, 2006 -> 09:31 PM) Meatball = pitch that the hitter can lean into and swing out of their ass. Hitters look so comfortable at the plate against him. Yeah, pretty easy to lean into a pitch right above your shoes. Mmm Hmmm
