  1. QUOTE(tonyho7476 @ Sep 20, 2006 -> 09:50 AM) They talked about this on Stern yesterday. The rumor is that its the lead singer of Shiny Toy Guns. Whoever that is. Stern was playing Paris' song and music from this band, and it was pretty similar. Where he heard the rumor, I don't know. Whatever Stern says is true? Come on, I do not think that much fraud would be committed in this case. She had alot of machines bostering her voice, she will never sing live, so thats why she was able to make an album.
  2. QUOTE(NorthSideSox72 @ Sep 20, 2006 -> 11:21 AM) Besides... a Lexus is basically a Toyota anyway, with some added refinements and accoutrements. Same frames, engines, made at the same facilities, etc. Just a little more bling. nah, much different experience and build quality.
  3. QUOTE(NorthSideSox72 @ Sep 20, 2006 -> 11:02 AM) I am wondering if that is something to seriously consider. Since he obviously has the reflexes and the arm for it... do we think he has the range? You could then consider Fields, who has a little speed, at 3B. I just worry about Fields' defense - anyone know if that has improved this year? Crede's initial position was SS i believe.

    Speakers

QUOTE(GaelicSoxFan @ Sep 20, 2006 -> 01:16 AM) Can someone recommend some speakers for me? I'm looking for a simple setup with 2 satellites and a subwoofer for approximately $50-$75. I was gonna buy these, but they got taken off the market before I could act : http://reviews.cnet.com/Creative_Labs_Insp...7-31347899.html I actually have the JBL creature speakers, and I purchased them for a very fair price on ebay. They come in white, black and silver, and thump pretty well. http://www.amazon.com/JBL-Creature-Compute...r/dp/B00006IRR4
  5. And then move Crede to SS and see if he can win a GG there.
  6. QUOTE(fathom @ Sep 20, 2006 -> 10:24 AM) And that's why KW has to try and see what type of extension Buehrle and his agent are looking for. I think it's going to be in the range of 4/48...and that's just too risky for the way he's looked this year. once again, its ONE down year. He is one of the most consistently good pitchers in the entire MLB. You dont just give up on your best pitcher, your Ace, your staff leader because he had one down year. Mark has a career 3.63 ERA, find me a replacement for that type of production. Every pitcher will have a bad year or two, its called baseball.
  7. QUOTE(fathom @ Sep 20, 2006 -> 09:59 AM) No, but if he's in the last year of his deal, and he's looking at a very big contract after the 2007 season, you have to consider it. Yeah, and his down year may give us a chance to sign him at a discount below what market price would be. Is there any team in the MLB that wouldnt want Mark on their team? I dont think so.
  8. QUOTE(beautox @ Sep 20, 2006 -> 09:17 AM) That or the league hasn't figured him out yet, wait till there is enough tape on him. Its hard to hit a good splitter even if you have seen it a ton on tape. Watching that pitch that last two games, it is VERY nasty.
  9. You dont just go and trade your Ace of the last 4 years because he had a down year. Thats ridiculous.
  10. He flyout to RF was an impressive swing though. He looks to have power to all fields.
  11. Hahaha, I love the slo-mo of verlander saying "what the f***?" One positive from this season is that we seem to hit Verlander better than most teams.
  12. 4 pages? Alot of people have taken a vacation huh. BA is really starting to look better at the plate every week. Maybe Ozzie will figure out he hits RHP nicely.
  13. QUOTE(WhiteSoxfan1986 @ Sep 19, 2006 -> 07:09 PM) He also comes much cheaper so is a Toyota, but I prefer my Lexus.
  14. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Sep 19, 2006 -> 04:43 PM) Yes. He's reportedly asked for something in the $12m a year range, or ridiculous numbers like that. He's going to work for all the $$ he can get. So, back on the Crede issue, here's a hypothetical for the people saying we shouldn't trade Crede at any cost. Anaheim is in desperate need of a bat at either 3rd or 1st base or somewhere like that. They reportedly offered up Ervin Santana for Miguel Tejada earlier this year. Furthermore, every time the Angels have asked the D-Rays about Crawford, the D-Rays have said it'll cost E. Santana plus some more. So, here's a hypothetical for you. Crede goes to the Angels for E. Santana. E. Santana is spun off to the D-Rays for Carl Crawford along with some mid-level prospect. Podsednik is thrown on the trash heap in one of those 2 deals or somewhere else along the line. Would you tolerate Josh Fields at 3rd base next year if it meant Carl Crawford was your leadoff hitter and Left Fielder? That is a serious hypothetical situation. I think that every one takes Crede's defense for granted because it has been there for so long. The guy saves 1 or 2 hits almost every game. Crawford would make our lineup ridiculous not only for his speed, but his defense, arm, and OBP. However, would you say Crawford is one of the top players in his position (OF) in the game? I dont know if you could put him in that category. You could put Crede in that category, which makes him a little more valuable IMO. Also, I still thin kFields needs to be eased into the majors, he is not ready to just be placed into a starting role, especially at the hot corner.
  15. QUOTE(StrangeSox @ Sep 19, 2006 -> 04:37 PM) Lots of people who want to "define" what a "true fan" is around here. Sorry, some people don't accept or cheer for mediocrity. Guess you never cheered from 1917 until 2005. I feel sorry for you.
  16. QUOTE(CWSOX45 @ Sep 19, 2006 -> 04:39 PM) I've heard numerous reports that Ichiro wants out of Seattle, and wants to go somewhere where he can be competitive. I don't know how credible these reports are. I know I may need a reality check, but if we upgrade from Podsednik to Ichiro.....I would be overwhelmed with joy. PS Isn't Julio Lugo a free agent? Dont tease me dude. If we could grab ichiro, it would automatically make not only our defense better, but our offense would be dangeous.
  17. Oh and check out that list he posts in his article about the top 10 minor league pitchers in 2001. Man did we get unlucky.
  18. Wow, a daily call from Ozzie to Peter. Nice to see from Oz.
  19. QUOTE(WhiteSoxfan1986 @ Sep 19, 2006 -> 04:10 PM) I think we have to seriously look at trading Joe. It's all about selling high, and Fields could step into his role next year. It would be great if we could get some young pitching for him. Remember, a year and a half ago Crede was a whipping boy for Sox fans. Fields is a good prospect, but he isnt where Joe is offensively, and not even on the same field defensively.
  20. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Sep 19, 2006 -> 03:54 PM) Pods Blak™ should fill that role nicely in CF next year. If we pick up Pierre I will seriously puke on myself.
  21. QUOTE(fathom @ Sep 19, 2006 -> 03:55 PM) Jimmy Rollins should be KW's main target...Josh Fields could be a great chip to use to get him, as the Phillies really like him. If he could pull that off, it would improve the team imensely. As lead off hitter, he is pretty decent, his OBP wil drive some people on here crazy but he will create a ton of runs and play good D.
  22. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Sep 19, 2006 -> 03:38 PM) On Lugo: No thanks, he's going to pick up a contract this offseason that he is not deserving of, he'd be an ok leadoff man but he'd also play atrocious defense. We need a lead off man from somewhere.
  23. QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Sep 19, 2006 -> 03:39 PM) Rock, what should I cheer for on Sunday? the team you love. Its frustrating to have a dissapointing season, especially when we should have played better than we did. But thats baseball. Its why its the greatest game in the land. When this season is over, we can look forward to next year, and another possible run at it. We have a great core, great management, and a franchise that looks to be dedicated to winning for once. This is not the time to turn your back on your team, nor to act like a spoiled little baby who needs to pout about something that didnt go your way. These reactions are why it was so easy for me to get season tickets when I did, and why I was always one of the only people who went to every game. Why my section was half empty for several years, and yet at the beginning of every season there was always hope. If you all want to act like babies and cry and whine about how our team just couldnt win enough games, then so be it. I love this team, my life revolved around the White Sox, and I wouldnt be the same without the experiences that I have had with this team. When this season ends, I will be dissapointed, but we cant win the WS every year. Next year is a new year, filled with new hope, and a new schedule, and the Sox will be right back in it. And I will be in my seat as always, cheering for them.
  24. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Sep 19, 2006 -> 03:36 PM) On Crede: There is one major variable, his back. Every game he's seen clutching his back and it seems he goes down for 3 games every other week because of a flare up. This really appears to be a serious problem, maybe it can be fixed through surgery or therapy but this is going to be a huge decision for KW and company if they think his back is going to become a serious problem and could hamper him in the future they should most definitely look into moving him now and picking up big time talent for him in return. The guy is 28 years old and has major health worries I'm not sure that's the kind of guy you just want to throw a longterm contract extension at when it's not entirely necessary to do so at this time. He is having minor back surgery in the offseason, it is supposed to alleviate the issue.
