  1. QUOTE(Steff @ Jun 16, 2005 -> 01:50 PM) My dislike of Ozzie...? Uhhh.... I don't dislike Ozzie or his family one bit. I especially like Jr a lot.. he's a riot to go out drinking with. Ah yes, the old, I know this person post, my fav. By the way, I go drinking with...wait that has nothing to do with the issue. Yes, your dislike for Ozzie. I could look up your posts, but I remember very clearly your bashing of Ozzie especially with his comments in the papers. Fact is, Ozzie's vision for the club and his experience on a World Series Championship team, led to the re-make of this power hitting club. Bar none, thats thr truth. I know you like to get in the last word on every issue, so I will let you. But you said all he does is manage what KW gives him, I say he has input on the direction of the team.
  2. And dont let your dislike for Ozzie cloud your vision on this issue. If we didnt have Ozzie and hired someone else, we wouldnt have a team like this, and we probably wouldnt be this good.
  3. Check out post 27 Steff. I said Ozzie had input on the makeup of the team, which means how the team's philosophy is structured and the type of players needed. You replied that he just manages and the GM makes those calls.
  4. QUOTE(Steff @ Jun 16, 2005 -> 01:32 PM) And where did you obtain the information that it's not the truth..? It doesn't hold water..? So you think Ozzie walks into Kenny's office and says "Get Tom, Dick, and Harry.. " and he does it.. ? LMAO Good stuff.. You are implying that KW went out and changed the team, and picked up players in the offseason all because he himself came up with the idea, and he figured out what players to get. And Ozzie had no input on what direction the team is going, what the nature of the team should be, and how they were going to change to fit that mold. Ozzie just happened to be the manager who fell into the team that he was given. Thats ridiculous and untrue. And the information came from Kenny, so it is untrue.
  5. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Jun 16, 2005 -> 01:05 PM) I'd say there are good odds you'd be abel to pick up a single ticket at face off of someone if you were there. Is the game sold out? walk by the EL, offer 20 bucks for box seat, they will take it. Its always easy to get seats.
  6. QUOTE(Steff @ Jun 16, 2005 -> 01:02 PM) You asked me a question and I gave you an answer based on answers to specific questions I have asked from the horse himself.. Don't like my answers.. oh well. Because its just not the truth, your "insider information" doesnt hold water in this conversation, because its just not the case.
  7. QUOTE(Steff @ Jun 16, 2005 -> 12:45 PM) The GM. The manager manages what he is given. End of story. Yeah that makes sense, Ozzie comes here, says he wants to play a different kind of ball, and KW gives him a team that works with his wants. Yeah, looks like Ozzie had nothing to do with that.

  9. I cant believe schoeney was a starter last year, not even I wouldve voted for that.
  10. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Jun 16, 2005 -> 11:24 AM) The best thing to happen to Frank this year may very well be Carl Everett. Now that Everett has stepped it up, Ozzie has to find Carl some playing time. In other words, Frank will be forced to take extra days of rest just because we have Carl. And therefore, Frank will be more well rested when he's in there, and hopefully will be in prime shape when September and October hit. God I hope we re-sign the big guy. Yet another reason for us not to trade Carl. I have been saying this all along, Frank is no longer durable enough to play everyday, even at DH.
  11. QUOTE(Steff @ Jun 16, 2005 -> 12:26 PM) Ozzie wanted him last year.. and was told no. Ozzie also wanted Pudge BEFORE he signed with Detroit.. going so far as to flying him to Chicago to meet with Kenny.. Kenny said no. Ozzie doesn't have squat to do with the final decisions made. No kidding he has no input on final decisions, but where do you think the idea for the makeup of the team came from?
  12. QUOTE(Steff @ Jun 16, 2005 -> 12:17 PM) It means less than you think. Ozzie can talk all he wants.. if Kenny don't like them, they aint coming here. Perfect example.. Urbina. Ozzie wanted him, Kenny didn't. well im sure the payroll had something to do with that as well. But whatev
  13. I bet he wishes he took that offer in the first place. Now he knows whats its like to look up at the sox, man the view must be nice!!!
  14. My guess is that Garland had a nice hot streak, and now is reverting back to his old self, but I could be wrong and this is a cold streak. But the way he threw the ball last night, looked like old Garland, the big inning.
  15. QUOTE(mwolfson @ Jun 16, 2005 -> 08:10 AM) I'm going to go out on a limb and pray for a sweep... There is no reason we shouldn't be able to take all three games while out in Cali. Afterall, we are the "best" team in baseball. after all we "wont" be out in cali since its a home series.
  16. QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Jun 15, 2005 -> 04:51 PM) Exactly.........how long can you expect a side-armer to be useful/reliable? Name 1 who pitched well for a long-time? HOF'er Eck
  17. QUOTE(Wedge @ Jun 15, 2005 -> 11:03 PM) This has looked like early 90s Frank. I hope he can get healthy enough to play everyday. If anyone saw his tweak his leg again last night, and his limping around the bases, I wouldnt predict any huge comback at this point. The guy is going to be fighting through injuries the whole year.
  18. QUOTE(jackie hayes @ Jun 15, 2005 -> 11:10 PM) Well, what the hell. After all the work I put into my "Eric Chavez is a White Sox player RIGHT NOW, By the time you read this Chavez is wearing a Sox uni and has already hit 4 hr in one game for us" thread. I mean, it's just suggestive is all.
  19. I just like listening to MIke and mike in the morning, that show is amazing. Other than that 1000 sucks.
  20. I hope we dont ever draw fans like the cubs do. Going to their ballpark with the terrible people who dont watch the game and clog up the lines is horrific.
  21. QUOTE(bigredrudy @ Jun 16, 2005 -> 09:52 AM) The dimensions of the playing field at the Cell are ludicrous. KW considered moving the fences back at the Cell and he should have. This is not baseball we are watching but softball at a church picnic. As originally constituted the dimensions were OK but have you seen all the homeruns dropping in the bullpens. Tony Clark and Shawn Green did not even hit the balls squarely. It was OK when it was cold but now forget about it. I do not enjoy watching games where they are decided by lazy pop flies-17 homeruns by the DBacks. Come on! just a word to the wise, this was a terrible way to introduce yourself to the board. And here is a quick lesson to think about later, our homeruns go over the same wall.
