  1. we dont need any more Of'ers especially injury prone, over priced ones. Sorry
  2. So, even though we coulda gotten him in the offseason, but we wouldnt give him a long contract so he went to the Giants. Now we are ok with trading for him an essentially give him the long contract we didnt want to give him. Uh....there was a reason that we didnt sign him in the first place, and I dont think we are going to rethink that thought process especially now that we found that Uribe is better defensively than we thought. Nope
  3. QUOTE(tonyho7476 @ Jun 14, 2005 -> 07:58 AM) These are the type of ideas that will take you right to the top. Loved the fundamentals girl...but would have been better muted. the sixth inning shower cam, then just have one of those girls soaping herself??? SOunds like a winner to me, count me in.
  4. I didnt even know he had a splitter.
  5. Widge should only catch El Duque because AJ cant seem to hook up with him. Other than that, it should all be AJ
  6. QUOTE(Texsox @ Jun 14, 2005 -> 07:53 AM) He's retaining fluid. Maybe a little Midol will help
  7. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Jun 14, 2005 -> 12:02 AM) More Joe Crede talk aye. Did you know Eric Chavez went 5 for 5 with 2 HRs yesterday? Dont even start with that.....
  8. I figured if we were going to talk about last night in a bunch of topics, I would post something positive about the game. I think one of the most important happenings/decisions during the game was Ozzie leaving Contreras in the game after he gave 7 runs. He then settled down and regained his composure and fought through the rest of his outing. I think that the confidence in JC that Ozzie showed last night will have a positive impression on the count. The guy is all talent and he lets his head get in the way sometimes. With Ozzie leaving him out there to mop up his own mess, it allows JC to feel like no matter how he throws the ball, its his game and he doesnt need to worry about getting yanked.
  9. QUOTE(Buehrle>Wood @ Jun 13, 2005 -> 04:41 PM) WE NEED ANOTHER OUTFIELDER AND ANOTHER STARTING PITCHER!! GO GET EM KENNY! WHAT A PACKAGE THAT WOULD BE! Couldnt be a more wrong post. :headshake
  10. If fielder impresses, Overbay could be on the blocks
  11. QUOTE(Jabroni @ Jun 13, 2005 -> 03:43 PM) Why would we want or need Womack? He isn't that good and we already have 4 guys on our roster that can play 2nd base. Well, he did hit over 300 last year and had 26 stolen bases, he is an experienced willie harris
  12. they werent doves, they were pigeons
  13. I cannot believe how easy it is to get off if you have some money. This once again proves you cant be guilty of anything if you have enough money. The justice system is a joke.
  14. QUOTE(BDavisFutureHOF @ Jun 13, 2005 -> 03:40 PM) I still have hope BTW -- I was also a HUGE Fordyce fan he was better than Josh Paul
  15. Heres a real question, if we were to trade Crazy Carl, what value would you expect in return????? Im thinking a backup IF would be the best value to get for him at this point, possibly a utility guy rental. Would anyone be open to trading for Tony Womack???
  16. QUOTE(sox-r-us @ Jun 13, 2005 -> 03:28 PM) There is absolutely no focking reason to trade Carl. The guy can spell Rowand, Pods and Dye every now and then (and we all know Ozzie likes to tinker every 3rd day) He is the best bat off the bench late in a game He can spell Frank every now and then I would love to see if he can play 1B...then he could spell Paulie too Considering we bench Pods quite abit against LH pitching, Everett should stick around. If he plays 60%-75% of the games this way by platooning, why should be trade him? This is exactly why we wont trade him. If we are going to add something of serious value look no further than our minor league system. We have alot that other teams want, and if need be, we will unload it. But as of now, Carl should be one of the last ones to go.
  17. roto The Brewers have decided to call up Prince Fielder to act as a designated hitter this week. This never would have happened had Russell Branyan been healthy, but as is, the Brewers don't have any great options at DH. Fielder will return to the minors as soon as the week is over.
  18. I fully believe that its the more consistant throwing of a decent slider that has helped him this year. He is going after the batters and throwing all of his pitches for strikes, textbook
  19. QUOTE(SoxFan101 @ Jun 13, 2005 -> 02:22 PM) How do we all know that, I bet if he wasnt ready mentally the Barons manager would tell KW not to do it no matter what? So if he is indeed called up Im sure he will be ready mentally. because it was long a part of his scouting report Bobby Jenks: Jenks has an overpowering fastball and a curveball that is considered one of the best in the minors. With his gaudy strikeout rates (103 Ks in 83 innings in Double-A last year), Jenks could be become the successor to Troy Percival. One key factor that could keep Jenks from getting to the next level is his inability to limit his walks: Even after a sizeable improvement, his walk rate still stood at an ugly 6.1 per 9 IP in '03. Jenks also needs to shake his off-field troubles and capitalize on the many chances that the Angels have given him.
  20. QUOTE(Jordan4life_2005 @ Jun 11, 2005 -> 02:14 AM) You hear that noise Crede? That's Josh comin for ya. I hope. too bad his fielding isnt quite as advanced.
  21. I think my eyes just burst out of my head when I read that post.
  22. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Jun 13, 2005 -> 10:00 AM) Pardon me while I got all philosophical for a second, but I think part of the reason we exsist, is to serve as a learning tool for other Sox fans. Especially when you factor in the age difference between some of the posters, basic questions are to be expected, and if we want to help them along their trip of learning, these are minor inconviences. Also questions like that are harmless. A rule that can be learned by search google or PM'ing someone who knows what they are talking about. The pale hose forum has gotten extremely watered down lately, so much that its hard to engage in a discussion with the more knowledgeable members.
  23. QUOTE(Jabroni @ Jun 13, 2005 -> 12:34 PM) He can get his off-speed stuff over the plate; Shingo can't this year. Since he has no control with his frisbee, he has to throw that 85 MPH meatball right over the plate. He will, Im certain he will return to form this year.
  24. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Jun 13, 2005 -> 10:22 AM) You won't see Sean Tracey this year however with recent rumors you may be seeing Bobby Jenks in the Bigs even though I don't think he's ready. Jenks wont be up, he isnt ready especially mentally.
