QUOTE (buhbuhburrrrlz @ Dec 27, 2014 -> 01:23 PM) meh, tell us something we don't know. "Regardless, big changes could be coming" It still seems more likely to me they'll keep Emery, fire Trestman and crew then bring in a retread coach like Shanahan. I mean this is the Bears. Harbaugh just seems like a pipe dream. Exactly. I don't expect them to do the right thing here. -

QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Dec 27, 2014 -> 11:47 AM) Didn't UNC's coach say no to UM? They did a ton of PR repair after Dukes coach apparently was approached so who knows. If for some reason Harbaugh says no I think its Miles. -

QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Dec 27, 2014 -> 11:41 AM) I think the big push by Michigan makes trading him a moot point. Chances are he winds up in Ann Arbor, but if not, I don't think SF is going to be compensated for his services. The ties are going to be cut pretty quickly. Plus is Michigan even looking anywhere else? I am starting to believe the done deal reports. They hired a search firm which doesn't appear to be involved with Harbaugh so you would think they had a list. -

QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Dec 27, 2014 -> 11:37 AM) The compensation will be in the form of draft picks, I don't think SF is going to hold on to him so people will send them money compensation. The thing is, San Francisco can do what they want, he is under contract. If they are really concerned about him going to another NFL team, they are gonna force that team to pay out the nose. If he is going to sign with UM, well they might as well fire him because UM cannot offer any sort of compensation. I'm curious how they can get reassurance that he signs with UM though I believe UM still has to pay his buyout but obviously they cannot give them picks. -

QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Dec 27, 2014 -> 11:17 AM) The way I look at it, if he is fired he is going to UM. San Francisco is going to want compensation if he goes to another NFL team I think it's the other way around. If he is fired he goes to Oakland. If SF wants compensation he goes to Michigan. If NFL teams are allowed to openly bid on his services that is bad for Michigan. They need him to sign to today. -

QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Dec 27, 2014 -> 09:32 AM) @JoePequenoCBS5: Source says, Harbaugh will tell SF team after Sunday's game and be introduced Tuesday. Once again, nothing signed, but UM confident. SF must really be blocking his movement in the NFL if he isn't even going to get a chance to listen to offers. -

QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Dec 27, 2014 -> 10:37 AM) And the high paid offense scored 30+ points exactly zero times. Fact is, all 3 phases sucked and they are all connected. If the offense could sustain an early 7 minute drive, maybe the defense doesn't get trampled on. If the special teams doesn't return every kickoff out the end zone and get tackled inside the 15, maybe the offense can be more aggressive and run the offense better. And that is why coaching is definitely the largest issue. -

QUOTE (LDF @ Dec 27, 2014 -> 08:56 AM) this is my opinion on the Bears and maybe their problem. is it really the coaches fault? i think the real fault to should fall right on the shoulder pads of the QB. before the Bears got him, he was practually ran out of Denver. how many times he couldn't put it together when the team needed him. wasn't there some rumblings several yrs ago that he was a bad attitude. now i will say that i never did like him and i stop watching, for the most part, the Bears b/c of him and that he was not going to win. so again, is it really the coaches fault, even the coaches in Denver couldn't get him prepared. now, here is where i am wavering, and this is but a small example. when the Blackhawks hired Denny, i thought good, he earned the chance. but when Quenneville became available the Hawks fired Denny and hire Q. it was a great move and nothing else need to be said. while the Bears coach deserve another chance and with a different QB, getting Harbaugh may be like the Hawks getting Q. The Bears have the worst defense in the league. Not sure the QB had much to do with that. -

Illinois has two good running backs if not one that's real good but just a horrifically bad quarterback. That's not a recipe for success. Also the defense is really badly coached. I'm not sure it's a talent issue as much as scheme and assignments. -
Their old regime restricted technology so you have to believe they are behind the times a bit.

Kind of. For some reason they looked like they approached the lady walking the stroller then went right to the cop car. Sure looks like he pulled a gun.
-
Good prompt press conference with quickly released video.
-
They already released the security video. Sure looks like he is pointing something at cops. Also doesn't appear the police were getting physical or anything prior.

If it could be taken over remotely then hijacking wouldn't be a thing.

QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ Dec 23, 2014 -> 03:27 PM) Did the release also mention the raise it's going to get for Nick Saban? Rumor has it Meyer is in line for a possible bump and extension now as well. Domino effect. -

QUOTE (bigruss22 @ Dec 23, 2014 -> 09:55 AM) Ah that makes more sense, is it actually allowed on the network (I would assume not reading the above)? Allowing personal devices on your network is scary for a few reasons: -Work documents on a personal device (confidentiality) -No control over security software (could even have nothing on it, whereas all work devices can be managed), when was the last time the device was scanned for threats? -Technically you wouldn't know whose device it is on the network, is it a contractor? A fulltime employee? An invited or uninvited guest? Could someone walk right in with a device and access the network? Lots of ways to get around those concerns, but it has to be done right. BYOD (bring your own device) is coming, because of employees like you who prefer to use their own machine because the company isn't offering a good enough option. It brings flexibility, and could be quite cost effective (pushing support back onto the manufacturer/seller) but there needs to be work done around it to limit exposure. You could know that, and as soon as it joins you would know a hell of alot of stuff about it, if they have the right tools. I saw a cool demo by a company named Tanium that is getting momentum because of BYOD, the tools are being built around this.

QUOTE (shipps @ Dec 23, 2014 -> 04:40 PM) Michigan is courting him so hard and with so much money to back it up I dont know if I can see him turning it down. He would probably make about half the money in the NFL right? http://espn.go.com/college-football/story/...ch-jim-harbaugh The NFL could pay him whatever. It comes down to if the 4 years he spent at Michigan chasing a title trumps the however many years he spent in the NFL chasing the ring. Michingan would be smart to hire a good coach like him, especially since he's from Ohio, they generally have decent luck with that.
