  1. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Dec 10, 2014 -> 05:28 PM) Barry is coaching their bowl game. Chryst coming back? Boom
  2. QUOTE (CaliSoxFanViaSWside @ Dec 11, 2014 -> 08:56 PM) Thank you . This needed to be said in the worst way. Now if someone can take all of Rock's recent posts and tell me he was spot on in the Sox acquisitions then keep jumping on his bandwagon. No disrespect meant. I share what I can. I'm not a an oracle. I'll use IMO next time. I've had my share of solid info on deals though, but I get as much bs info fed to me as the next guy.
  3. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Dec 11, 2014 -> 08:58 PM) Would that be NHL concussion #4 for the captain? Hope not Sure seemed like it.
  4. QUOTE (Heads22 @ Dec 11, 2014 -> 05:42 PM) Heard the name Chris Ash floated out there. I don't think he's leaving after one year. Tom Herman is a good candidate
  5. They should have never let Toews back on the ice after that hit.
  6. QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Dec 10, 2014 -> 05:34 PM) ? Since 1990 Wisconsin has had 3 head coaches. Bielema left because fans were pretty upset with him and prior to the Big10 championship that year there were rumors he was on his last leg there. Andersen is kind of shocking but it happens. I thought Bret left because the assistant coach budget sucked and his guys were leaving for better paying gigs.
  7. Barry is coaching their bowl game. Chryst coming back?
  8. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Dec 10, 2014 -> 04:35 PM) Wisconsin's head coach Gary Andersen is taking the Oregon State job Seriously?
  9. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Dec 10, 2014 -> 02:09 PM) Doesn't mean you have to do it then, but certainly they should. This is a differentiation of affirmative evidence. If there is evidence, then yeah, they arrest (it used to be you needed someone willing to sign a complaint, but that hasn't been true in a while). If there isn't, they don't. But it is also true that you can find examples of DV reports and arrests happening after the fact - if you prevent that, you essentially make the statute of limitations almost immediate. If the cops are there, and don't make an arrest, but do later, yes that is unsual. No, it is not prevented from happening. Pretty much. My old roommate went through this in Columbus, it's very rare if there is any evidence of a struggle or assault that someone isn't taken into custody. It's become commonplace in Ohio to book someone.
  10. QUOTE (raBBit @ Dec 10, 2014 -> 02:02 PM) My buddy from work went to ND and claimed to have pissed on Samardzija's boots and said Samardzija was super cool about it and just insisted my buddy should buy him a drank and they'd call it even. Considering Samardzija is an ND guy, I found it to be BS. He used to frequent a bar I worked at years ago. "Cool guy" isn't a term I would use about him. Good player though.
  11. QUOTE (PlaySumFnJurny @ Dec 10, 2014 -> 01:09 PM) I know the law to be similar in Illinois; the police have extremely limited (if no actual) discretion. If there is probable cause to believe DV has occurred (a very low bar which is cleared even by "He said/She said"), arrests are to be made so that the courts, not the cops, can sort it out. To NOT make an arrest in Ohio they have to submit a report and request on why they didn't make an arrest. Because of that they always take someone into custody as it's expected. Of course that's if there is actual evidence of some sort of assault taking place.
  12. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Dec 10, 2014 -> 12:53 PM) Show me this "law", because it makes no sense. DV arrests can happen well after the fact, and there is no per se requirement for hospitalization to occur. Those things I know. Beyond that, I see virtually no chance the law says anything like what you are saying here. But I am open to be corrected - show me. Google it. It's the reason Frank Clark was arrested immediately. It's to stop the "misunderstanding" or intimidation that leads to cases being dropped. If the officer sees evidence of assault in a domestic abuse allegation there will be an offender taken into custody.
  13. QUOTE (Brian @ Dec 10, 2014 -> 01:01 PM) Such a coincidence that every legal situation is a misunderstanding or is false info when it involves OSU. lol ok. Go back to Harbaughwatch.com
  14. QUOTE (PlaySumFnJurny @ Dec 10, 2014 -> 12:09 PM) And the Deadspin article implied he called the cops first; that's generally not the behavior of a criminal (other than a gangsta of luv). In ohio if there is truly domestic abuse its the law that someone has to be taken in. In this case nobody was taken, there are no signs of violence, no report filed and no medical attention applied. So not much of anything.
  15. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Dec 10, 2014 -> 11:27 AM) Well that's one way to solve next year's QB controversy Ohio State +600 seems like a solid value bet The details are the best, he was outside waiting for cops saying "one of my girlfriends is in there tripping and wont leave." PLaya
  16. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Dec 10, 2014 -> 08:57 AM) The top 25 has many losses this year. Many of those from the B1G. They beat the ACC but lost most of the key games. Yeah that still doesn't qualify as "not very good". It's still probably the first or second best conference from top to bottom in the country.
  17. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Dec 10, 2014 -> 08:37 AM) The B1G is 3-14 vs top 25 opponents. Do top 25 teams usually lose? They beat the ACC head to head and its December. The Big Ten is still very good.
  18. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Dec 9, 2014 -> 11:05 PM) So the Big Ten isn't good. Compared to what?
  19. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Dec 10, 2014 -> 07:39 AM) fathom has all of their all star plaques shined up and ready to go. He just refurbed the ones he had made for the previous generation of cant miss cubs The last time they paid a late 30s player 20 plus million a year was a mistake. You'd think they would learn.
  20. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Dec 9, 2014 -> 09:07 PM) 1) You still don't know what you're going to get out of LF, Avi Garcia, Conor, 2B and Tyler Flowers. That's a TON of line-up uncertainty for a contender. 2) The only positions where we're getting average or above defense are CF, SS (and that's slipping) and C. 1B should be better with Abreu more experienced and LaRoche's presence. But unless we employ Sanchez (who will have his offensive struggles), 2B with Micah Johnson will be downgraded. Will Conor and Tyler continue to improve? What about Avi, who looked as bad as Viciedo or even worse at times. I guess things can't get much worse than Dayan/DeAza, so that should be an upgrade as well. 3) You don't have a proven lefty unless you think Duke's going to be another Thornton or Marte (pre-2005). Your loogy is even more of a question mark. 4) You're relying, at least until Rodon arrives...on Danks and Noesi at the back end of the rotation. At best, that's a mixed bag, at worst? Plus, our best insurance policy at #6 in Bassitt was just traded away. Beck and/or Erik Johnson aren't going to inspire much confidence in anyone. 5) We were pleasantly surprised with Conor, Putnam, Guerra, Noesi and Eaton. Will they continue to progress, or will they fall off the map (especially the first four guys)?? Can Tyler Flowers be at least a league-average catcher? Will the second half declines of Ramirez and Abreu trend into the first half of 2015? How long will it take LaRoche to adjust to the AL? Well if you want to see an opinion that is as negative as possible about the team here it is.
  21. QUOTE (Dunt @ Dec 9, 2014 -> 03:05 PM) Dude, he has fully dipped into the Cubs kool-aid. For being a self-professed Sox fan, he sure doesn't act like one. He knows nothing about our farm system, but fluffs theirs to no end despite no major league results. Watch, the White Sox win another World Series within the next 5 years and the Cubs get close, but never win one with this group of prospects. He's a clown. If it was the Cubs media session he would ask about the Sox. He is trying to fit the Mariotti niche in the Chicago market these days. His media brethren f***ing hate him.
  22. QUOTE (iamshack @ Dec 9, 2014 -> 08:34 AM) Have to say, these guys certainly don't like to lose... But ick...that's a lot of money You can't have it both ways. You either want a top if not the top reliever on the market for a big contract or you are ok with scrap heap hopes and dreams.
