Bored huh. Yeah, he's not going anywhere. You can hope if you want.

QUOTE (scs787 @ Jun 26, 2014 -> 09:05 AM) Then why do some drafts even have him in the high 20s? Mock drafts, made by individuals, just like his opinion.

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jun 26, 2014 -> 09:06 AM) Welcome to the rebuild and "prospects". Seriously did anyone expect everyone to succeed? If it were that easy, the Royals would have won something decades ago. They have been doing this for 30 years now. We have 2-3 players that are legit all stars during a rebuild. Thats pretty amazing. The one thing that really hurt the process is Garcia's injury, though I think he will be back before the season is over.

QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jun 26, 2014 -> 09:00 AM) The problem is that Semien, Erik Johnson and Webb have all fallen on their faces so far. Davidson's sporting a 650ish OPS at Charlotte. Garcia's injured. That leaves Abreu, Eaton and Conor Gillaspie as the lone positives (and Noesi, maybe). Obviously, Abreu's a huge piece, and Rodon should be as well, so they're still stuck in a bit of a quandary, because by trading/dumping Ramirez, Beckham, Viciedo and Dunn, you're talking about replacing 4 starters already, and Flowers/Nieto would be 5. But do you honestly think they can afford to wait around on Tim Anderson, Courtney Hawkins and Montas? Why would Hahn hint at putting Rodon in the rotation as soon as next year if they're targeting 2017 and 2018? It's a rebuild. Stay healthy, get experience, move on. You are still trying to figure out how to plug holes to contend. Also, Dunn isnt a starter and I dont think they dump all 4 whatsoever.

Oh and how does a 23 year old have a barbed wire tat? He's a decade late on when that was cool at least.

QUOTE (Jake @ Jun 26, 2014 -> 03:33 AM) I would really like to test drive a Windows Phone for a while to see if the shortcomings are as glaring as they might seem. I love the interface and a lot of MS is doing, but not enough to pull the trigger on a WP and gamble on years of owning one. I think Google is really targeting MS in various ways. They don't see Apple as much as a serious competitor, because Apple is less interested in market domination as much as niche domination. Google obviously doesn't want Apple to dominate its market segments, but that's more tolerable than MS, who has always been more Google-like in their desire to be in as many places as possible. Google wants to knock out Windows on desktop, in mobile, and in enterprise (which includes desktop/mobile, but also office applications, hosted services, etc.). By not supporting MS products, Google makes MS much less appealing. IMO, it doesn't make MS a worst choice in many situations (no way in hell am I abandoning MS Office), but it makes both choices have flaws instead of Google looking like an obviously inferior choice. In what way? Hosted software? Maybe. Microsoft and Google are locked in a cloud software battle that Apple will never participate in since they want to control all aspects of the user experience. But make no mistake, when it comes to personal devices, Apple is still what companies aim for.

QUOTE (Brian @ Jun 25, 2014 -> 07:42 PM) Amber is hot. Frankie thinks he's some celeb. Hate him. I hate the entire cast so far other than the bearded Forrest Gump.

QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jun 26, 2014 -> 08:23 AM) Loved Ventura's interview..."It's not as sloppy as last year (defense and baserunning)." The bar has fallen pretty low. I get it, keep Sale and Abreu healthy, Eaton progresses, Quintana continues to battle, Conor continues to play well or Davidson pulls out of his tailspin...maybe Semien, Erik Johnson and Webb look better in the 2nd half, etc. At least Hahn's not going to play around and hold our roster spots hostage for the Keppingers and Downses forever. That's a good thing for the club to keep them on their toes and not becoming complacent. What bar? It's a rebuild.

QUOTE (Wanne @ Jun 26, 2014 -> 12:56 AM) I'm not gonna miss him...and yes by all accounts he seems like a good guy...but goddamn...every single time Robin goes the bullpen it simply goes to s***. Too early....too late...whatever. I'm still scratching my head why Putnam was taken out...but honestly...it really makes no difference anymore. No such thing as bad timing when you have nothing to pull from.

QUOTE (ZoomSlowik @ Jun 25, 2014 -> 07:22 PM) Yes, at the time of the draft. Oden and Durant had significantly more hype at the time and were basically assumed All-Stars. Anthony was pretty close to that level and while people weren't QUITE as thrilled with Davis, there's no way anyone is passing on a big with his length/athleticism/upside. Wiggins and Parker had a ton of hype before the season, but it's died down considerably because they didn't meet those absurd expectations. I find that there are signficantly more articles/discussions about things like Wiggins' lack of offensive polish/killer instinct and Parker's lack of defense/contributing in areas beyond scoring than there are hyping them up. Parker ended up being the best freshman to ever play at Duke. That's meeting a pretty high expectation IMO.

QUOTE (Brian @ Jun 25, 2014 -> 10:43 AM) Brittany isn't awful looking. Easily one of the worst if not the worst female season yet. Of course they tried a "good looking" cast before and it was racist and not very diverse.

I need a f***ing vacation, took zero time off when my kid was born, didnt take a honeymoon so I could work. Jesus I need to unplug.

QUOTE (chw42 @ Jun 25, 2014 -> 10:10 AM) I'm not sure you can say that, because it was still 4 minutes of play during stoppage time. Who knows what might have happened, but I'm not sure you can say they lost because of it. The game would have been over when they scored. So I am pretty comfortable with saying that.
-
QUOTE (chw42 @ Jun 25, 2014 -> 09:54 AM) They added a whole minute of extra time because of that, so meh. And they lost because of it.

QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Jun 25, 2014 -> 09:47 AM) Tackling cleats up is always red. Eh, that was debatable. The dive was not necessary either and I would have gone to the yellow because of it. Shielding the ball and glancing the bottom of your cleats off of a shinguard is a weak Red IMO.

That was a yellow, not a red card to me.

QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Jun 25, 2014 -> 09:10 AM) Pierre LeBrun just tweeted that multiple teams have already contacted his agent, and the Avs are still in the mix too. That probably means he will be too expensive for the Hawks. I'm not sure the Avs have that much money to spend. Edit: I guess they have a lot right now with some players to sign, but in the next few years they have to sign their entire roster. -
QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Jun 25, 2014 -> 08:12 AM) Did not realize it started tonight...woo! This I do not approve of. EDIT: Just looked up the cast and ya what the hell...Where are all the good looking girls? Boo. Its like summer camp, eventually one or two will appear attractive.

QUOTE (raBBit @ Jun 24, 2014 -> 07:41 PM) What's your gripe with them? Nothing with the club, just every 20+ handicap went out and bought them and then couldnt hit em for s*** and now they are selling it back. Buying a driver wont help your swing if its bad, and for some reason the white drivers made everyone think it was magic.

QUOTE (GoSox05 @ Jun 23, 2014 -> 09:24 AM) Getting Kesler would be awesome, but I don't think that happens. They would have to trade young talent for him, and then you have to trade someone like Seabrook to free up salary cap room. Not impossible, but it seems a little far fetched. He's also been made of glass. I like it in theory but not sure he's as reliable as we want. -
QUOTE (raBBit @ Jun 24, 2014 -> 12:43 AM) Anyone ever use eBay deal of the day for clubs? Prices are marked down ridiculously. I just picked up a TaylorMade RocketBallZ driver for $100. You can buy those white drivers on an extremely discounted price everywhere at this point. When they came out every duffer on the planet went and bought one and none of them could hit it.

QUOTE (Y2HH @ Jun 21, 2014 -> 05:51 PM) ...not much difference these days. If you want to live in California in any kind of popular area -- be sure you're making about 120,000 a year, so you can be kinda-middle class. Less than 80,000 in most areas of California means you're living in poverty after that 2500$ rent. IN SD its OB vs PB

I feel bad for Iran. They played really well and now they'll all get executed.
