  1. QUOTE (bmags @ Jun 9, 2014 -> 02:40 PM) Rodon is gonna sign at slot or above. No way he is signing for 750k under slot. I think you'll find out pretty soon.
  2. QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Jun 9, 2014 -> 03:25 PM) Religion is more than a belief in something. I believe in nothing, thats not a religion. I dont follow any system, there arent any rules, there is no structure. There is no way to follow it, its just a conclusion after going over all of the possible ideas that my human brain can comprehend. Could my belief become a religion? Sure if people start to follow it, if there is some sort of structure given to it etc, but just "believing in something" isnt enough. Why do people have to follow someone's ideas for it to be a religion? One person has to follow an idea or belief and they can call it their religion.
  3. QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ Jun 9, 2014 -> 03:32 PM) Disclaimer: I didn't watch the game and only saw the boxscore and read this discussion. If you look at all of Sale's innings this year, you can probably count on one hand the number of them where he allowed 3+ baserunners in an inning. Once that point was reached, it should have been pretty obvious that Sale was no longer himself. Now, I'm not going to go out and proclaim that Robin is a terrible manager because of this decision, but it seems evident that a pitching change needed to be made. Nope. And he made a good pitchers pitch to Trout and he put a great swing on a change out of the zone.
  4. QUOTE (knightni @ Jun 9, 2014 -> 02:12 PM) Pull Sale early and the BP blows it, people would scream and blame the manager for allowing the "miserable" bullpen to blow it for Sale. Pull him early and the BP saves it, people would say that he was timid and shouldn't manage if he has no confidence in the Ace to allow him to finish what he starts. There's no win for a manager in that scenario. The players have the game on their shoulders in the bottom of the ninth. I'm sure that there have been worse losses than this in the 113 years this team has existed. People shouldn't fall prey to emotion and hyperbole over one of - at minimum - 60 (70-80) losses this season. Just relax. You'll all live longer with less stress. Most of the reactions are by people who never saw the actual pitch location and also apparently have never heard of Mike Trout. Blame someone, kick the dog, grrr.
  5. QUOTE (soxfan49 @ Jun 9, 2014 -> 02:25 PM) Losing Kane or Toews is riskier. Plus, with the way Seabrook played this year, I'm not sure Johns can be worse. Dahlbeck was great this year, so I think he could replace Oduya and do a fine job. Seabrook WAS good "this year," he just had a pretty bad playoff run. I'm sure that's why you think he was bad all year. I would be shocked to see Johns put up half a point a game and a +23 rating.
  6. QUOTE (GoSox05 @ Jun 9, 2014 -> 01:50 PM) Replacing Seabrook and Oduya with rookies is risky. Oduya is as good as gone IMO.
  7. More or narrower? Religion is a belief in something, and that belief varies from one idea to a structure. Obviously people who follow those beliefs in their daily life think its more important or complex than that, I dont.
  8. QUOTE (CrimsonWeltall @ Jun 9, 2014 -> 11:51 AM) They don't refuse to see it. It's simply not true. LOL, religion is a belief in something, correct?
  9. QUOTE (Chilihead90 @ Jun 8, 2014 -> 12:58 AM) Yes. And right after Alexei's error is where I would have pulled him, although I don't think the bullpen started warming up yet until the run scored on the previous batter. I feel like that moment probably took the air out of Sale, or at the very least pissed him off. Whether or not it affected him, I'm not sure, but i had just had a bad feeling at that moment. Not getting the bullpen going at the beginning of the inning was probably the biggest mistake, IMO. But not sure if that's on Coop or Robin. I feel like I usually see Coop picking up the phone to the bullpen. He had Trout 0-2. Your ace didn't have issues and his stuff was still there Trout then hit a good pitchers pitch out. Turns out he's pretty good.
  10. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Jun 8, 2014 -> 12:09 AM) At least I can't remember giving up 6 runs up, up 5 going into our last AB. Ventura did not manage very well. Hopefully this doesn't wreck our season. As demoralizing as it can get. What kind of pitch did Trout hit? Classic second guessers out there tonight.
  11. QUOTE (greg775 @ Jun 6, 2014 -> 11:59 PM) Sox are the definition of a .500 team. It's insane how many times they've dipped up and back. Did you expect more when the season started? I guessed 90 wins, I still think they hit it.
  12. QUOTE (BigHurt3515 @ Jun 6, 2014 -> 11:46 PM) Yes, I just have a feeling tomorrow is just going to be one of those tough starts for Sale. Hopefully I am wrong again Unlike last season these guys will fight to the last out.
  13. QUOTE (BigHurt3515 @ Jun 6, 2014 -> 11:36 PM) I just have a bad feeling. But I have like 10 times this year and have been wrong a lot so there is that There's two things this team has: 1. Never quit attitude 2. A true Ace
  14. QUOTE (ptatc @ Jun 6, 2014 -> 10:49 PM) Mechanics out of whack? It's usually injuries but if they haven't shut him down by now, I would doubt it. The only thing I can think of is an injury similar to Danks where the shoulder is loose. Maybe they are seeing if he can pitch with it. His mechanics are horrible right now. Getting under the ball.
  15. QUOTE (Bigsoxhurt35 @ Jun 6, 2014 -> 11:24 PM) Like Sale? Exactly.
  16. QUOTE (Soxfest @ Jun 6, 2014 -> 11:10 PM) Rock you truly think it will be soon and not in a month? I think faster than people think with his situation and demands. They are dangling mlb playing time.
  17. QUOTE (Bigsoxhurt35 @ Jun 6, 2014 -> 10:53 PM) Alrighty thanks man Np. They've been working non stop from what I understand.
  18. QUOTE (Bigsoxhurt35 @ Jun 6, 2014 -> 10:47 PM) Any word on Rodons signing? I know it's really early Nada yet. I'll check tomorrow.
  19. Rienzo could be a decent swing man, but I don't think he's a starter on a contender.
  20. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Jun 6, 2014 -> 05:31 PM) Do you Chicagoland players have any open tournaments in your parks this summer? We are trying to find a fun local tournament to enter and we are having a hell of a time I have a 14 in one in forest park
  21. QUOTE (MexSoxFan#1 @ Jun 6, 2014 -> 05:45 PM) So what's keeping the Spurs from turning the AC off? s***, I'd go full Red Auerbach on them... Absolutely. There can't be a rule against that. Turn the heat up.
  22. QUOTE (Brian @ Jun 5, 2014 -> 11:20 PM) He's lost 20 lbs this spring. Sitting at 220. Didnt they say that last year? I dont think he's the best RB on the roster right now. Isaac makes that even easier.
  23. QUOTE (Jake @ Jun 5, 2014 -> 11:55 PM) LeBron is always dealing with cramps. When you have a legit cramping problem, though, there's nothing you can do about it. Not without a good 15-60 minutes to deal with it. The reason the Spurs went wild from 3 is how much effort the Heat put into denying the ball inside. It opened everything up. Wait until his knees start to fail at that size. He better hope his genetics hold up
  24. QUOTE (raBBit @ Jun 5, 2014 -> 11:41 PM) So I imagine the FO is ecstatic right now? I know everyone loves Reetz but his swing left-handed isn't pretty. You can definitely tell he's a natural righty. I do like the idea and would be happy with the pick but at some point we have to start scaling back to afford Rodon and Adams. So far they are pretty damn satisfied.
