Official 2013-2014 College Hoops Thread

QUOTE (He_Gawn @ Jan 7, 2014 -> 09:36 PM) Which is what's so frustrating about B1G games... I've seen MSU beat the s*** out of IU and now OSU... The flip to Minn/PU and other games and watch all the new rule changes "go into affect" and call every touch foul. It's a joke. OSU at Purdue wasn't all that physical at all. Lots of touch fouls and those drives by craft were actually being called. Two different ball games. -

QUOTE (He_Gawn @ Jan 7, 2014 -> 09:28 PM) Sounds like Payne should not even be playing... Harris still not even fully healthy. MSU is damn good. No shame in that. And as I post this... MSU is now blowing OSU out. OSU clearly wasn't ready for an old school Big Ten game. That and they get real cold shooting for long stretches. -

QUOTE (He_Gawn @ Jan 7, 2014 -> 09:14 PM) MSU is just the much better team. OSU is good, don't get me wrong. But offense wins. Now... Get MSU in foul trouble, anyone can beat them. Their depth sucks. Outside of Harris... Izzo hasn't recruited for s*** in 2 years. Much better isn't only giving 5 points at home. They are a better team offensively for sure. If the game is like this, home team will look dominant and MSU has no chance of getting into foul trouble. -

Lol Izzo. Should have been about 6 more fouls on your team that half. Stop acting like a b****. -
QUOTE (G&T @ Jan 7, 2014 -> 12:14 PM) Pipes normally burst between the freeze and the faucet due to water pressure, not ice pressure. If the faucets are open they probably won't burst, but I don't know the condition of the pipes in an old house. Regardless, you should get some one to open the wall and make sure the pipe is insulated to prevent this from happening again. Yeah it's expensive, but worth it. Yeah its just one stack and I am sure its the extreme cold but its weird its only effecting the one that doesnt have an access panel. I opened the faucets and I have the main water shut off ready to go if something goes wrong. The funny thing is its in the newer part of my house (1996-2000). Almost all of the old plumbing including radiator pipes have been replaced in the last 10 years or so.

QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Jan 7, 2014 -> 11:28 AM) You need to evaluate the potential costs of something bursting versus patching some drywall. FWIW the week before we closed on our house, the pipes burst, and it did $17k worth of damage. This is in a smaller house. Might be safest to call a plumber or something here. Damn. Going to investigate the stack now. Found the access panel to the main valve shut off which is good

QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Jan 7, 2014 -> 11:15 AM) short of cranking the heat and hoping that the ambient temperature rises enough, I don't know that there's anything you can do without cutting some holes. So just wait it out and hope nothing bursts? Never dealt with this before.
-
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jan 7, 2014 -> 10:54 AM) Can you get to them? Running a space heater close to them works. No, the frozen ones run up the exterior wall in my house, and that whole stack is frozen (upstairs bathroom, kitchen sink). Not really in favor of ripping up walls.

Anyone have experience with frozen pipes? What can I do?

The older part of my first floor just cant get above 56 degrees, its the only part that still uses radiators.

QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Jan 7, 2014 -> 09:36 AM) The defensive lines on these SEC teams always seem to make the difference between them and everyone else. Such a combination of speed and power. Its one of those things you arent ready for, and FSU's O Line had been pretty good. They also disguised their blitzes really well. Lost in the hoopla is how close Auburn was to breaking the last play into a TD. Only great pursuit kept FSU from blowing it. -
QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Jan 7, 2014 -> 09:20 AM) Apparently Deng's camp wanted $15M+ per year. Yeah no thanks. Deng should get a chance to compete for a title and the Bulls arent it for awhile.

Day 1 in the books, definitely a different type of workout so far, quicker pace, lots of balance.

The most surprising part of the game was Auburn's defense holding FSU to 24 points. I didnt like that they went into zone prevent at the end and gave up the winning TD as their pressure fooled Winston all day. -
So four picks for Deng?
