  1. QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Jan 22, 2013 -> 02:37 PM) There are a few people who would want to be there, but Wrigleyville isnt really any sort of tourist destination. Its basically a s***ty version of State Street or any other college campus main drinking area. The problem is that there is a busy season (summer) when no one cares about traveling from downtown to see the Cubs and then there is a slow season (winter) when no one cares about staying close to the field. The hotel itself would have to be unique, maybe a concert venue, indoor water park, something that would draw people besides the Cubs. Because otherwise no one is staying in Wrigleyville to visit Chicago. There just isnt a large enough entertainment district there, college bars are not a travel destination. Totally disagree. Its one of the top destinations for tourists to go to in all seasons, yet isnt nearly as reachable since most of them stay in River North. Add 1-2 serious hotels in that area and it will be even busier. There is alot more in wrigleyville/lakeview than college-type bars.
  2. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Jan 22, 2013 -> 12:33 PM) I've always been surprised how few hotels there are in Chicago outside of downtown. There should be way more lodging options in LakeView & Lincoln Park. There are some but they are s***, absolute s***.
  3. QUOTE (farmteam @ Jan 22, 2013 -> 12:42 PM) Come on, let a man dream! The Hoosiers SHOULD actually be better this year. Tre Roberson comes back, and that adds a whole other element to our offense that was missing under Coffman/Sudfeld. The only big loss comes on the defensive line, because Adam Replogle and Larry Black Jr are gone. They were our only legitimately adequate Big Ten players on the line. However, we add David Kenney and Darius Latham to the line, both of whom will likely start from day one. Our offensive line loses the center, Will Matte, but everyone else last year was a freshman or sophomore. So in short, we have increased odds of making a bowl game this year! Maybe has high as 10%! They are actually recruiting fairly well for their standards at the moment. I havent looked at your schedule yet but that will be key.
  4. Stupid ass TPMS wouldnt reset today until I drove it up and down the highway.
  5. QUOTE (chw42 @ Jan 22, 2013 -> 12:08 PM) I resort to the all-Chipotle diet. Chicken bowl, no tortilla, no dairy. Gets you full and around 600 calories. Somewhat healthy too, I'd like to think. You could always make your own and put even better things in there for nutritional value. I'm a big order/eat out person since I live near alot and I am busy. Tonight is for sure a Protein Bar kind of night.
  6. The boutique hotel idea next to the park is genius. If you were coming in from out of town its a no brainer.
  7. I'm big on olive oil and grape seed oil for cooking. There are health advantages to having those substances in your body. Dont get too caught up on calories.
  8. QUOTE (chw42 @ Jan 22, 2013 -> 11:22 AM) That was a half-hearted joke. I honestly don't know. But it will be interesting to see what they do. If they release an iPhone 6, then it shows a sense of urgency instead of complacency, which is good. They have dialed back production of the 5 by 80% I heard on the news. So it looks like its full speed ahead.
  9. QUOTE (chw42 @ Jan 22, 2013 -> 11:16 AM) You mean iPhone 5S? RIM is also holding some kind of live press event the same day, although I don't think it will be for BB10 (should be out before then). I heard 6, are they going to S this one too?
  10. QUOTE (chw42 @ Jan 21, 2013 -> 10:10 PM) Rumor has it Motorola will release its X phone in May at Google I/O. Here's to hoping this rumor's actually true. So right before the iphone 6 hits in June.
  11. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Jan 22, 2013 -> 10:36 AM) I work out in the mornings - changes s*** up I guess. I do feel a bit like s*** after lifting until I chug the protein shake. One reason why I cant in the morning. I've tried to run without digesting a meal and I barely made it home before seeing stars. I wish I could, it would be really helpful, im up for suggestions.
  12. QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Jan 22, 2013 -> 10:33 AM) Not sure I agree with that. I thought OSU was supposed to be good? I know Wisconsin has a chance to be really good. Offensively we should be really good. Defensively we replace the entire D Line with sophomores and juniors. It's the rest of the conference that just isnt improving next year. MSU is way down, Ill, Iowa, Purdue, who knows.
  13. QUOTE (farmteam @ Jan 21, 2013 -> 05:56 PM) Hoosiers will shock the world and win the Big Ten. I can say that, because it's January. No you still cant. However the conference is down again, way down.
  14. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Jan 22, 2013 -> 10:05 AM) Kirk could save David Palmer from assassination and I'd find a way to s*** on him. I dislike Kirk very much. I dont like him as a person so I am on board with you. He's a tremendous douche.
  15. QUOTE (iamshack @ Jan 21, 2013 -> 10:43 PM) It's currently owned by an 80 year old widow. As you might imagine, it sort of has the look of a home owned by an 80 year old woman...a lot of renovations would need to be done to the inside, the land needs a lot of landscaping, pool needs to be resurfaced, etc. Green carpet and pink drapes everywhere?
  16. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Jan 22, 2013 -> 09:03 AM) It's kind of a no-brainer, yo. Avoid fast food, eat things that fill you up - no empty calories. The best thing you can do is get your metabolism going again, which is rather easy to do. I don't know your work situation, but wherever you work you can pack food for the day... it really is true that you should eat little things all day long vs two or three big meals. Breakfast is a must. Here's an example of a weekday's eating for me: 6:30 Protein shake at gym 8:30 Overnight oats - these are f***ing delicious (150g greek yogurt, 13g chocolate protein powder, packet strawberries/cream oatmeal, 6 frozen strawberries, almond milk - let sit overnight) 10:30 protein bar noon sandwich, cheese stick, almonds 2:00 greek yogurt 3:30 apple, protein bar 5:30 dinner Once you get your metabolism going (ie, eating like this on weekdays), you burn calories much more efficiently - and that's the key... calories out > calories in to lose weight. It'll fall off of you. Once you get to the weight you want, you can really eat/drink what you want within reason and moderation while doing this and you won't gain any weight back. Then you can even ramp it up to add muscle. Oh, and I repeat, overnight oats are the f***ing s***. I look forward to them every day. See for me thats no enough caloric intake. I get super faint and light headed during my workouts if I dont have something fairly substantial for lunch/snack. I then do a light dinner and usually a fruit or veggie/hummus snack later on.
  17. QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Jan 22, 2013 -> 09:42 AM) Ha, true, it's my nature to nitpick. But I would never nitpick boobs. Who was that? Soxbadger? To be fair he just wanted concrete evidence that those were in fact nice boobs. At this point its just heresay.
  18. QUOTE (fathom @ Jan 19, 2013 -> 11:25 AM) Then why does ESPN care so much about deadspin in general? They are successfully doing the research ESPN won't do. ESPN wants to believe him so much they are stopping at his word and dead spin is killing their story. http://m.deadspin.com/5977282/in-espn-inte...until-wednesday
  19. What's the Domers standard response for this http://www.wpgb.com/pages/Program_Director...rticle=10712136
  20. QUOTE (zenryan @ Jan 18, 2013 -> 11:30 PM) So Te'o is saying people will understand he wasnt involved when the facts come out. What the f*** is taking so long for the "facts" to come out? Telling the truth shouldnt take a few days, especially since he was going to come out and admit he was duped in a few days. Hey dude unrelated but have you heard any rumors about your situation as far as sanctions?
  21. QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ Jan 18, 2013 -> 09:29 PM) This isn't about Notre Dame, this about a person who capitalized off a fake trauma for attention. There are people out there who will never have a serious relationship their whole life, there are people who will lose a loved to illness or tragedy, and there are people who will overcome terrible events in their lives and still find a way to accomplish great things. Manti Ta'o is a fraud and an insult to people who face real pain and suffering in this world. None of us may know the whole truth behind what happened, but it is clear as f*** that this kid played up the lie to build up his legacy. Regardless of what football team he plays for that's f***ed up and he deserves no sympathy. 1. Nd tried to publicize a fundraiser in her name after dec 26 2. ND did more for this story than for a rape case/ suicide involving their players and also a student who died as a direct result of their head coaches actions. It's more than just him.
  22. QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Jan 18, 2013 -> 06:38 PM) What could Manti have done? "I don't want to talk about my girlfriend, it's just too difficult." NO ONE IS GOING TO QUESTION THAT. No one is gonna be like "NAH b**** TALK ABOUT YOUR DEAD GIRLFRIEND' For that particular question, don't talk about any dead people. Talk about celebrating with your teammates after going undefeated. Anything really. Nope, he knew Heisman voters were voting on back story and not production so he hammed it up.
  23. Wasn't asked about her, went out of his way to grow the legend This was Dec 8
  24. Well at least we can all agree on one thing: If you have an online girlfriend for years that you've never met, you are a f***ing loser.
