The Cell is one of the best kept secrets in baseball, and thats fine. Alot of people in Chicago dont even realize you can tailgate before a baseball game. -

QUOTE (IlliniKrush @ May 12, 2012 -> 12:56 PM) I greatly prefer 12 inch, as it's closer to baseball, the problem is when you play teams that just jack HR after HR. I know some leagues limit this. But it's not fun playing those sorts of teams, it's not even a game at that point, it's just HR derby. When you have two evenly matched teams and neither has a ton of power, much more fun. Yeah, my team has zero power so when we play those teams its just stupid. I still have yet to figure out the trick to hitting for power in 12 in softball. Right now im a right center line drive hitter or I put one right at the pitchers head up the middle. I'm almost always 2/3 with a walk. -
QUOTE (Soxbadger @ May 11, 2012 -> 01:37 PM) It should be noted Kane was not arrested. In comparison, Montee Ball was arrested that weekend. Mifflin Street party is just insane, on Wisconsin sites they are questioning why Bielema even lets football players go out that weekend. Kane just went to a bad situation for a young millionaire. I mean I cant even comprehend that a millionaire athlete would have been at Mifflin/Madison when I was in college. That would have just been a lightning rod for trouble. Ball was pretty much arrested for being black wasnt he?

QUOTE (Harry Chappas @ May 11, 2012 -> 12:56 PM) and how many of them make $6M/yr and are the face of a major sports franchise. Having fun and partying is fine being a douche while doing it, not so much. Go to the club and hang out with adults and learn to handle your alcohol. That is all anyone is asking. Sorry, I cant fault a 23 year old from going to a street fest with his friends, especially in Madison. All we have is anonymous stories from equally wasted college kids claiming he acted a certain way while in the pictures he's acting the same as every other kid there. Sometimes these guys just want to be a normal person once in awhile, I personally dont find fault with that.

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ May 11, 2012 -> 12:49 PM) I'd imagine most people remember more about their 20's than Kane does. Yeah right. Most people in their 20's arent high level athletes that travel most of the year while staying in peak physical condition. The guy goes to about as many parties as I can count on one hand and he's out of control. Yeah right. Still waiting on those anonymous people to post their videos.

QUOTE (Soxbadger @ May 11, 2012 -> 12:27 PM) Just read that Kane article, Im pretty sure last weekend was Mifflin Street party as well, so basically Madison is out of control. \ Yes it was, and I am guessing he wasnt nearly one of the worst ones there.

QUOTE (StrangeSox @ May 11, 2012 -> 12:25 PM) I tend to steer clear of bro-heavy areas Walk down milwaukee, southport, wells, division. Not sure what Bro-Heavy means but there are alot of people out having a good time, I dont fault a celebrity for doing the same especially one that trains alot of the year and just got his summer vacation.
-
QUOTE (StrangeSox @ May 11, 2012 -> 12:21 PM) Not everyone is a complete douchebag in their early 20's as Kane appears to be. Not everyone goes out and parties, but ALOT do. Walk down Lincoln ave on a saturday night.

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ May 11, 2012 -> 12:18 PM) This is exactly how I feel. http://www.chicagonow.com/red-light-distri...ane-to-grow-up/ Yes, another older family man who probably doesnt remember his 20's. Good perspective Wait he attended Lewis university, so he probably didnt have much fun in his 20's.

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ May 11, 2012 -> 11:49 AM) The big difference between the three of us is that people actually care about what Patrick Kane does. He has been heading downhill for years now. Maybe so but getting drunk at a house/street party in your early 20's doesnt scream "heading downhill" to me. You have some stories sent into deadspin claiming some celeb did something that EVERYONE saw and could remember clear enough to be an eye witness. Of course there arent any pictures or vids of the horrific acts that they claimed which is funny because nobody has phones with that kind of technology these days...

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ May 11, 2012 -> 11:36 AM) How many years are you going to say that? How many years did your parents say that about you? Took me till my late twenties.

I play both co-ed 16 and men's 12. Also play in a charity tourney that is 14 inch. Softball is great. I'm like you, singles/speed player and I track down everything in LC. -
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ May 11, 2012 -> 09:59 AM) Its only a matter of time. Of course he could grow up as the years go by and his 20 year old actions will actually decrease.

QUOTE (Soxbadger @ May 10, 2012 -> 09:33 PM) Well I think the Bulls should have won this series but for idiocy. You cant be afraid to try new things, when Boozer sucks, try something new. Give Butler a shot, give Brewer a shot, 76ers arent exactly a team that beats you on the block. They want to drive and use their athleticism, dont be afraid to go small. I just dont get it, I dont get the use of players. One day Korver plays the 4th, the next time Hamilton. Just all seems so arbitrary. They did unusual things this series like score from the post though, it was weird. I dont usually agree with you, but when I do its about Taylor and our need for another scoring pG who can shoot from the outside and run the pick and roll. I ALSO believe that the Bulls would be 100% more dangerous if they had a big man that could shoot the three like your boy Lauer. Rose or whoever in the pick and roll at the top with that bulls*** Wisconsin 3 ball from the big man would bring the offensive game of the BUlls up a few notches IMO.
-
QUOTE (Soxbadger @ May 10, 2012 -> 09:21 PM) If Bosh and Wade were out, the heat would still have beat the 76ers. Not sure you can say that definitively, not how the Sixers played this series. They are one of the best defensive teams in the league and found some miraculous offense in a few of the games. If Wade and Bosh both tear their ACL's in the start of the series, I cannot say they beat Philly straight out.
-
QUOTE (Dick Allen @ May 10, 2012 -> 09:18 PM) They were crashing because they knew it wasn't going in, but that shouldn't have stopped someone from stopping the ball. Yeah that was terrible. It was a matchup that was defense vs defense and we lost our primary scorer and our best passer in the post. Things dont always work out. Pick your favorite western conference team and cheer them on in the finals.
-
QUOTE (whitesoxfan99 @ May 10, 2012 -> 09:14 PM) A black hole on defense who was also an embarrassment on offense tonight. Taj>Boozer. But I didnt see that when we signed him, and I dont think many did. I would really like the Bulls to draft a scorer at the guard position this season, preferably a point guard that can fill in for DRose. We dont have that many tradeable assets though which hurts them.
-
QUOTE (Soxbadger @ May 10, 2012 -> 09:14 PM) Doug Collins is a great coach, Yeah, you lost me there.
-
QUOTE (bigruss22 @ May 10, 2012 -> 06:20 PM) Link You have GOT to me kidding me. If Parks and Rec gets canceled I don't know what I'll do. 30 rock and Parks are some of the best shows on TV. I love how NBC thinks their good shows are the issue.

QUOTE (Soxbadger @ May 10, 2012 -> 09:10 PM) Thats not an excuse for Thibs though. Asik was dead tired and a bad ft shooter, he should have been pulled from the game at 2 minutes left. He does this stuff all the time with players and how he handles them, Rose just makes up for it with brilliance. Dude you admitted that you dont watch the NBA till college is over so how do you know that? Second, if you take out Asik you put in a black hole on defense in Boozer.
-
QUOTE (Soxbadger @ May 10, 2012 -> 09:08 PM) No they wont, but Thibs could have called a Bulls player over after Asik was fouled and told them to not crash the boards and just man up on defense so as not to give up an easy basket. Or when the 76ers rolled the ball up the court, he could have told CJ to get on them so that the clock runs and they waste 4-5 seconds Its just the little things that seem to escape Thibs. That isnt on the players at all. Neither is how Thibs uses Taj versus Boozer or the million other little things that Derrick Rose makes up for on offense every single game. I have always wondered if Thibs was Collins and the Bulls would need someone else to get them to the promised land, this series does nothing to convince me otherwise, as better coaching would have won (imo). Thibs is one of the best coaches in the league, with DROse they sweep and nobody mentions anything as he had back 2 back best records in the league. Come on, overreaction on the coaching being the issue here. He is down to a f***ing midget 2 guard bringing the ball up the floor and a stone-handed center starting the game. Not to mention a one-handed Luol who played out of his mind. The issue is your best player going down in game one where we cleaned their f***ing clocks. Add some players through the draft and possibly trades and probably have another great chance to be the #1 or #2 seed again next season.
-
QUOTE (Dick Allen @ May 10, 2012 -> 09:04 PM) I think if they had Noah healthy the entire series, the Bulls would have won in 5. With both, its a sweep. For sure, but they didnt. Defense vs defense and they lost it without key players. Whatever. Heat wins the East and we cheer for OKC when they come out of the West. All I care about it Rose's knee getting 100% sooner rather than later. Also please draft another guard scorer.

QUOTE (lord chas @ May 10, 2012 -> 08:37 PM) Kane needs to go he is a Big Ben type incident away from getting himself in serious trouble 1. Dont you mean a Starlin Castro-type incident since his was most recent. Aka any athlete who f***s a whore and she has serious remorse. Look what it did to his career too.... 2. You are also assuming the anonymous comments sent into deadspin from Wisconsin students who were completely blacked out at a college party are accurate about the actions of a celeb that apparently they ALL saw up close.

You lurked in here so long I thought you were putting something together. Its been two seasons since we've won the cup, so lets take a look at some recent cup winners and what they did the two seasons after winning: Avs, 99 and 105 points Wings, 110, 109 NJ 100, 101 TB 92, 93 Car 88, 92 Ducks 102, 91 Det 112, 102 PIT, 101, 106 Chi 97, 101 Again, not exactly "backwards" especially with our cap issues. The best teams in the list are Det, and happens to be the same family/philosophy that the Hawks have had in place for now only 3 years.

QUOTE (buhbuhburrrrlz @ May 10, 2012 -> 01:59 PM) they said he was still limping. I don't expect him to play. I'm pretty sure they are going to shoot him full of numbing agent and he'll test it out. Not sure how much further damage he can do other than pain.
