United Center plans retail space
RockRaines replied to Mr. Showtime's topic in Alex’s Olde Tyme Sports Pub
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Apr 30, 2012 -> 09:16 AM) Oh I get why, I'm just not sure how. The Sox have been in the stadium for over 20 years now, and there is still nothing to do over there. Bridgeport blows away the area that that UC is in, once you get off of the main drag. The area that the Cell is in isnt exactly a very good area of bridgeport. -

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Apr 30, 2012 -> 07:57 AM) Wow, I had no idea the gap was still that big. Essentially the middle person is making minimum wage. In the near west side, yes. IN the actual west loop area the median income is very high compared to average. Their surveys take into account areas of people below poverty levels. Take a nice from the UC on Damen west and tell me what you see. -

QUOTE (farmteam @ Apr 30, 2012 -> 01:43 AM) What why? Admittedly, I haven't been over there in awhile, but I thought that area in general was undergoing a general revitilization/gentrification. The West Loop is entirely different that it was when most people last came over here, Randolph street has received numerous rewards this year as being one of the best foodie streets in the world. They are also now opening a Soho House (swanky celeb private club) right down the street. Ashland is usually the border for our area, but this is slowly being knocked down and something like this would get ALOT of play. -

QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Apr 28, 2012 -> 10:17 AM) Victories by school since 2007: Alabama:55 USC: 50 Florida:50 Illinois: 31 I think those two stats say all you need to know about Ron Zook. LOL -
Rose will be fine, he's so incredibly young. It sucks that we'ver ruined this season, but we have a full one coming up anyway.

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Apr 23, 2012 -> 08:06 PM) Anything to SantaMonica on a weekday is like 1.5 hours. Although they're finally building a light rail line there. Yeah, you have to drive everywhere in LA, its a nightmare. IN manhattan you just take the subway or the bus. Off the island they have fantastic rail systems going everywhere.

QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Apr 27, 2012 -> 10:09 AM) People keep saying Reiff is a LT, but if the Bears wont put Carimi there, I cant imagine theyd put Reif there. Carimi: http://www.nfldraftscout.com/ratings/dspro...1&genpos=OT Height: 6070 Weight: 314 40 Yrd Dash: 5.18 20 Yrd Dash: 2.80 10 Yrd Dash: 1.78 225 Lb. Bench Reps: 29 Vertical Jump: 31 1/2 Broad Jump: 09'01" 20 Yrd Shuttle: 3-Cone Drill: 5.02/5.12/5.24 40 range before Combine Reiff: http://www.nfldraftscout.com/ratings/dspro...2&genpos=OT Combine Invite: Yes Height: 6056 Weight: 313 40 Yrd Dash: 5.23 20 Yrd Dash: 10 Yrd Dash: 225 Lb. Bench Reps: 23 Vertical Jump: 26 1/2 Broad Jump: 08'02" 20 Yrd Shuttle: 4.75 3-Cone Drill: 7.87 So lets look at the tape: Carimi is bigger, Carimi is stronger, Carimi can jump higher, Carimi can jump further, Carimi is faster and Carimi is more agile. This not including: 2010: 2010 OUTLAND TROPHY WINNER...2010 BIG TEN OFFENSIVE LINEMAN OF THE YEAR (COACHES)...Consensus first-team All-Big Ten selection ... Academic All-Big Ten ... Wayne Souza Coaches Appreciation Award (Offense) ... He was a unanimous first team All-American As compared to Reiff: 2011: First team All-Big Ten by league coaches and media.. So if you wanted Reiff he would have played RT, there is really nothing to suggest hes better than Carimi, besides for the fact he has less accolades and is newer. I know you love Carimi because he was a badger, but Rieff has been graded out as a start LT in 2013 for whatever reason, its pretty much across the board. The measurables above are great and all, but obviously there is some difference between the two. Reiff would have been the #1 tackle on the board if his arms werent 2 inches shorter than Khalil

QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Apr 27, 2012 -> 12:38 AM) I can't say I'm shocked at the reaction of Bears fans. Emery seemed to like McClellin's ability to play LB or DE. And the people freaking out because he mentioned special teams are hilarious. He said it in reference to him being a 4-down player, as in, punt/kick plays on 4th down. At least that's what I gathered from it. It's pretty typical of NFL fans to have the "Hey, this isn't the big name guy who went to a big school so this pick sucks" reaction. No its more of a "there was a starting LT on the board and thats the biggest black hole on the team" reaction. Instead we got a 3-4 rush linebacker for a 4-3 defensive team.

I hope MIke Adams is crying himself to sleep on his huge pillow tonight. That bowl he smoked just cost him the first round and millions of dollars. Dumb f***.
-
QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Apr 26, 2012 -> 10:03 PM) Well if that's the case, then they should have taken him. People made it sound like Carimi could be a LT when he was drafted, and Tice has already thrown that out the window, injury or not. Either way, McClellan (SP? WTF?) better produce right away because Emery is gonna get judged about it from day one. This looks no different than previous Bears drafts, WTF's all around. You have one of the worst O-lines in the league, your biggest hole being LT and theres a starting one on the board and you take a f***ing tweener from Boise who by all account is weak and didnt dominate a weak conference slate.
-
QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Apr 26, 2012 -> 09:57 PM) Is Reiff good enough to play left tackle? If not, then whats the point, Carimi has RT. You already used one 1st rounder on a guy who is not a left tackle Yes he can play LT in the NFL. He played LT and TE at Iowa and has been graded as a LT in the NFL. Just dumb to not try and add an actual starting LT.

QUOTE (flippedoutpunk @ Apr 26, 2012 -> 05:41 PM) Same, it should be a fun Playoffs. Walking into any bar in Chicago as a person born in Miami is always an exciting s*** talking experience from both sides. Usually we are just surprised that anyone is an actual Miami fan from Miami.

QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Apr 26, 2012 -> 09:44 PM) Wow, Beckman and Illinois land a huge commit: 4* QB Aaron Bailey, #6 QB overall in the nation, one of the best Midwest prospects. That's huge. Saw that coming weeks ago, I was hoping he would go to ILL. Should have qualified that, instead of Nebraska. -
Ugh a first round somewhat tweener from f***ing Boise? Fail. With a starting OT on the board you dont need that pick there. I hate it.
-
No, he's a lightning rod because he's a f***ing idiot with an agenda instead of actually doing his job and reporting. He never beat down anyone.

QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Apr 26, 2012 -> 01:54 PM) I agree. I like you. I may even give you a nickname.

QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Apr 26, 2012 -> 03:40 PM) They've had numerous dlinemen and lbers taken in the draft as well. Iowa has been a very very good program, especially when you factor in the lack of high ceiling prospects they are able to recruit. Alot of good dline and you can sprinkle in a few skill positions as well. Its amazing. -
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Apr 26, 2012 -> 11:26 AM) K.C Johnson @KCJHoop NBA just announced Game 1 of #Bulls first-round series, regardless of opponent, will be Saturday. Time TBA. Well that confirms it, drunk saturday.

QUOTE (MexSoxFan#1 @ Apr 26, 2012 -> 11:13 AM) Great read, let me share this doozy from the comments section Me thinks this person sucks at talent evaluation, lol. LOL, moron. Turner probably had even less of a jump shot than Rose did at the time and Rose was always more athletic. Thats awesome.

QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ Apr 26, 2012 -> 10:25 AM) Any of the time devoted to those hotties from the bar and pool in CF?? That would make me watch it. Their president is a little pipsqueak. I thought Ozzie's remorse came off as fake as hell.
-
QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Apr 26, 2012 -> 10:20 AM) he should be slighted. Rose is better He thinks EVERYONE is slighting him. He has always had the attitude that anyone and everyone is trying to stop him from succeeding. He was a notorious asshole as OSU the first few years and Matta would routinely kick him out of practice. Theres actually alot of info on it in Titus's book. McCamey and Turner f***ing hated Rose though in HS, for good reason, D Rose dominated their faces. http://blogs.suntimes.com/preps/2007/02/wa..._derrick_r.html

Burned off 1400 calories last night in my cardio workout and damn near passed out. Thank god for recovery shakes.

QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Apr 26, 2012 -> 08:44 AM) Turner seemed to forget Rose already hates his f***ing guts. Do you think its only one-sided. Evan has felt slighted by Rose his entire bball career, they HATE each other.
