  1. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Apr 17, 2012 -> 09:22 AM) The fact that he had his hearing yesterday, but the decision was postponed until today makes me think the NHL is waiting to see if Mike Smith plays. He didn't practice yesterday, but that may have been more precautionary. I saw that Phoenix was tying to claim Smith was hurt badly and the league called their bluff and decided to wait to see if he's going to play. ANd I HOPE Saad gets his chance. That kid could be electric for us.
  2. I love how Marty (Cowley) always comes in and questions why there is hate for him.
  3. That was such a good idea. I could watch them do a whole set like that.
  4. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Apr 16, 2012 -> 07:42 AM) I actually said something I never thought I would say last night. I hate them more than Detroit. At least I can respect what the Wings do. The wings win Cups, the canucks never have. I really like that Sedin Sisters: 2 girls no cups tshirt a King fan had on last night. I REALLY like the way LA plays at times.
  5. QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Apr 16, 2012 -> 12:16 PM) To be fair, IU has what, 5 titles? Which is like 5-6th best in the country. So the numbers are there. Unfortunately they often put themselves on par with UCLA/Kentucky/UNC/Duke. They also rely on what happened 25 years ago a lot more than they should. I want to say this year was their 2nd Sweet 16 in that 25 year span which isn't anything to write home about. They have never won the Big Ten tournament, that alone would be a big step for them in the modern era. A conference title would be good for them as well as they really havent won the Big Ten that many times (20), especially if you compare it to teams like Kentucky who've dominated their conference (47 regular season titles) I'm a HUGE Bobby Knight fan though so I really remember those teams. They were definitely the premier or one of the premier teams in the country in the 70's/80's, they were almost an automatic sweet 16 pick. The thing about IU is they actually dont have that many final fours (OSU even has more) but they won 5 out of the 8 they've been in. Thats a really good success rate.
  6. QUOTE (Rex Hudler @ Apr 15, 2012 -> 04:13 AM) You act as if we're Northwestern and finishing in the top 6 in the conference is new to us. Find me one IU fan that thinks we're going to walk through the Big Ten? Get freakin' real. IU fans won't be surprised by anything in terms of how hard the road through the Big Ten is. We've been there a few times. If any of the IU fans on this board need some help with expectations, I'll be happy to discuss with them and give a little history lesson in the process. The simple fact is, IU is looking as good as anyone in the country on paper with 7 months to go before the start of the season. Any IU fan should be disappointed if we aren't better in the Big Ten next year, competing for the conference title with a chance to win or tie for it and be set up for at least another sweet sixteen run. Anything beyond that is nothing more than a guy being excited about the prospects of his team. We all have final four dreams. But that's a tough road and the potholes in the road present themselves when the tourney field is announced. The bottom line is IU SHOULD be a top ten team all year and COULD be a top 5 team with a shot at #1 if things go well. The same could be said about several teams, not just IU. Not true, it WOULD be new to alot of IU fans though. The rest of your post agrees with what I said though, so I am kind of confused. Maybe its because it was 4am?
  7. I think Sharpie got it. Thats one of the worst games I've seen us play in a awhile and we are in OT on the road. Not bad.
  8. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Apr 14, 2012 -> 11:17 PM) And then I'd go to the local shopping center and loot & start a fire. Then post pictures of yourself doing it and show how much you stole.
  9. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Apr 14, 2012 -> 11:03 PM) Hate to sound like a Canuck fan, but I concur that the refs have been s***. That Toews call was awful and Shaw should have been given a normal two minute minor. That being said, the Coyotes had a worse power play than the Hawks this season, the penalty kill needs to play better. Too many guys are setting up shop right in front of Crawford. To sound like a canuck fan you would have to say Bettman had a direct line to the refs during the game and was personally directing every call as it happens.
  10. I didnt catch this yesterday but Tigers fans are claiming the Sox deliberately are cheating by messing up the batters box.
  11. He'll probably get suspended, and it will be bulls***
  12. QUOTE (knightni @ Apr 14, 2012 -> 07:36 PM) Question... Could the Bears consistantly sell out a 100,000 seat stadium for home games? They could probably fill 150k every sunday with no issues.
  13. Alot of diving by Phoenix. Shaw better not get further punishment, that was bulls***.
  14. D Thomas returning has actually hurt OSU. Looks like JD Weatherspoon and possibly Jordan Sibert transferring. 2014 is going to be a big recruiting class. Looks like a team full of sophs and juniors.
  15. QUOTE (Reddy @ Apr 13, 2012 -> 02:06 PM) any of you guys take pre-workout supplements like noxplode, superpump 250, etc? trying to decide if it's worth it. I'm not big on putting chemicals in my body - but i'm skinny and trying to gain mass, and a pre-workout drink would probably help me lift harder... Hell no. I dont need anything increasing my heart rate with chemicals.
  16. Former player responds to Matt Hayes hatchet job: http://www.gatortailgating.com/news/terron...an-meyer-140412
  17. QUOTE (He_Gawn @ Apr 14, 2012 -> 12:48 PM) Looking further. IU has Zeller, a likely top 3 draft pick (maybe #1) and probably the best player in the country next year. Watford and Oladipo are also on the 2013 draft boards. Hollowell, Yogi, and Perea are all over the draft boards in the later years. They have first and second round talent at every position. You really think that Zeller is going to be the best player in the country? I'm not trying to start a fight as I know how crazy you are about your team, but I think you are really overrating the talent on your roster. Where are Watford and Oladipo on a mock draft board? I understand its very exciting for the program to be back and they even made it into the sweet 16 last year, but there is ALOT that goes into winning the conference and the tourney.
  18. QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Apr 14, 2012 -> 10:33 AM) They definitely have a shot. I'd lean towards Kentucky once again at the moment. Indiana surely has some talent to compete in conference, and possibly the tourney, but uk has a TON more and better coaching. I think IU fans are going to be surprised how different it is with the target back on your backs. It's a tough road through the Big Ten.
  19. Fact: Our second team is better than the Bobcats
  20. QUOTE (Heads22 @ Apr 13, 2012 -> 01:00 AM) I'll take ISU just outside the Top 25. I saw you had some good recruits coming in.
  21. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Apr 12, 2012 -> 11:36 AM) It's like that in any town where the college sports are more important than anything else. Which suprised me that a town like Columbus had a slip up with their football team. All it took was a federal investigation into a drug dealer who just happened to buy up all the players merchandise. Once the NCAA got that in, it was all over. They only uncovered a bit of what was happening but luckily when they brought in the new regime, alot of the bulls*** was cut off. Maybe some will come back, but alot of the key players arent allowed near the kids anymore. QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Apr 12, 2012 -> 01:04 PM) The new Rivals rankings have Dekker at 13, 2nd highest Big 10 recruit behind Robinson III. Kind of amazing that Wisconsin got him. Welcome to yesterday bro, I gave them some props. He looks REAL good. Now you just need a PG.
  22. ESPN updated its top 25 list for next year. 6 Big Ten teams make the cut.
  23. I was reading a blog on the Nash/Det game this morning at Midway and they mentioned that Pekka Rinne came out of the locker room with a stim machine designed to eliminate lactic acid strapped to his legs. The reporters commet: Its been confirmed, Pekka Rinne really is half machine. Pretty damn funny.
  24. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Apr 12, 2012 -> 09:18 AM) I cannot wait for this game tonight. Then the Hawks. I guess I need some beer. Yup, ill be going to the bar around 6:30 and shouldnt move for awhile. I already have my meal and first few drafts picked out.
  25. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Apr 12, 2012 -> 10:10 AM) I would expect Kentucky's athletic compliance department to be much more knowledgable/skilled/experienced/funded etc., than the depts at Memphis or UMass, so it will be much tougher to uncover anything there. Its not the compliance dept. Its how tightly knitted the group of boosters is within the community. UK fans are the entire city, its going to be very hard to crack that nut. The SEC in general is very good at hiding things and never ever letting them out.
