  1. QUOTE (iamshack @ Nov 18, 2011 -> 11:33 AM) So tell me Rock, is the phone worth the money if you already have the 4, or no? The phone itself? No. I barely notice any difference. Switching to Verizon, yes.
  2. QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Nov 18, 2011 -> 10:23 AM) Why would he leave Florida, who was still in pretty good shape, for health reasons, and then come back 2 years later? Well, he did just interview with AZ and turn them down. I dont know, just saying what I heard, and this time from a pretty believable source. As for the why OSU, he has mentioned its his dream job since he grew up there and coached under Earle Bruce. They said 7 years 35 million.
  3. Twitter bomb dropped last night and several sites have picked up that Urban Meyer is going to be announced as the next OSU football coach. Although a rumor at this point as people on here have seen before, I dont really like the guy.
  4. QUOTE (HeGone33 @ Nov 17, 2011 -> 03:38 PM) Somehow I knew you'd be the first to reply, can't believe you haven't picked it up yet. Can't say I've executed the hop step yet, plenty of step backs though. So far I think the key to being able to do that stuff is to play real basketball. If I just try one on one with Rose the whole time, it's very difficult. I find when passing frequently, having a nice mix of inside and outside buckets, it becomes easier to start getting around people and what not. I think the game plays very realistic Thats why i like NBA jam, I just drive, drive, drive, oop, oop, drive.
  5. QUOTE (ChiSox_Sonix @ Nov 17, 2011 -> 03:03 PM) As they should. The kids on the Penn State team did nothing wrong and if they win the Big 10 they deserve to be rewarded The NCAA "punishes" innocent players all the time because of the wrongdoing by their coaches and staff. IN the PSU case you have extreme negligence all the way up the chain. "Punishing" the football team should be the least of the concerns of PSU.
  6. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Nov 17, 2011 -> 02:27 PM) Are you kidding, I'd buy the "Sveum" plan just to be able to have his name roll off my tongue. Sveum. Sveum. Sveum. Sveum! He wasnt even a top three candidate on this forum, I would think his hiring would have garnered some pretty s***ty reviews. Not as bad as Robin, but not excitement either.
  7. QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Nov 17, 2011 -> 01:06 PM) Guys I'd take ahead of him for sure: Mike McCarthy Bill Belichick Mike Tomlin Sean Payton Rex Ryan Jim Harbaugh So, probably in the 10-14 range, i.e., average. I could agree with this. Honestly, alot of people could also point to MVP-caliber players making coaches look very good. I'm not sure Sean Payton is a hero without Drew Brees. I'd like to see your perspective on how you would rank Bears ownership against your list. I would have them dead last.
  8. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Nov 17, 2011 -> 01:41 PM) A guy with bench coaching experience? What an epic fail. So would this be a hire you could get excited about?
  9. QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Nov 17, 2011 -> 12:42 PM) Mmm, k. I forgot NFL head coaches still teach fundamentals and lack any assistant coaches to help them. You're completely overvaluing what Lovie does on a daily basis. I purposefully did the same with Tebow. That was the point. What does Lovie do on a daily basis? And how is it different from other head coaches? How would he rank against the other NFL coaches if you could give him a number?
  10. And I am still having a hard time seeing his name and pronouncing it correctly. I just want to say "svee-um"
  11. I love how Sveum wants to give the Red Sox a chance to give him an offer. Clearly the Cubs arent his first choice.
  12. QUOTE (SoxAce @ Nov 17, 2011 -> 11:38 AM) He's been injured for a while. I doubt he even sniffs Chicago till next season. I saw it was week to week and its an upper body injury. I think he comes up before the new year.
  13. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Nov 17, 2011 -> 11:00 AM) Welcome back to Chicago Ben Smith AWESOME!! I love that little guy. Now I anticipate Saad showing up next. Even though he's playing against somewhat weak competition Saad has 18 points in 8 games. 9 goals 9 assists.
  14. If anything at least this thread has gotten SB to start quoting posts.
  15. QUOTE (GoSox05 @ Nov 17, 2011 -> 10:25 AM) Over/under on the amount of completions Tebow has tonight. I'm gonna go with 5. I'm not going to lie, I really like watching an NFL team run the option a bit. I like how Carolina does it as well, of course Newton is a MUCH better passer.
  16. The Bears will be hurt by Williams being out for the season from here forward. The O-line is basically what determines how far the Bears can go.
  17. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Nov 17, 2011 -> 08:20 AM) I'm with you. I absolutely love chaos in the BCS, but I don't see LSU losing again, so I'd rather see them face OK State's high powered offense than Oregon or Alabama again. +1 here. Oregon has already bowed out of 2 consecutive BCS bowls, they are done.
  18. QUOTE (HeGone33 @ Nov 17, 2011 -> 09:51 AM) Most people just assume they are 8-1 because of their division and don't realize they have played only 1 division game to date. Going 4-0 when traveling to the east coast is pretty darn good, no matter who the teams they play. And winning in Philly isn't often easy. Winning against NY was another big game. How about going to DET and winning? Both the Bears and the 49ers have each played 4 teams with winning records. I dont assume anything, I know their schedule and who they've played, they also have the 3rd easiest schedule in the NFL. They are an improving team but they also have alot of warts that havent really had the chance to become exposed yet. I am excited to see them play Balt and Pitt, but the rest should be fairly easy.
  19. I actually think alot of the trades that are going to happen if they do arent going to make anyone happy, including those who think they want to rebuild.
  20. Great article HH, thanks for posting Its ridiculous that Second Mile records are missing from 2000-2003, roughly the time period he was hanging out with the boy that McQ caught him with in the shower.
  21. Forgot to post my link: http://www.pennlive.com/ Also has stories on how McQ went to a second mile charity event a year after he called the super secret fake police on Sandusky
  22. No matter who is trying to play the victim in this whole situation they are all going to come out as villains.
  23. QUOTE (HeGone33 @ Nov 17, 2011 -> 09:15 AM) Why does that sound like an aweful game? You take the best defense in the NFL against the best offense. You throw in the fact that the 49ers offensive scheme is to pound the ball with Gore, add the fact the weather up in Green Bay could slow down the Packer offense and all of a sudden you have a great game. I've watched every Bear, Packer, and 49er game this year and without and it's funny when highlight watchers immediately discount the 49ers. I guess it all comes down to what you personally consider makes a great football game. The niners to me look like a team that is improving, but is also a benefactor of having a decently easy schedule.
  24. I thought we were in trouble last night but luckily Bettman called in a favor with the refs ;-)
  25. Apparently really early victims from the 70's are now coming out and are being interviewed by police. This was all a result of seeing his interview on the news.
