Thome would help in general preparation for the Vets, but I still think there are better options internally.

QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Oct 18, 2011 -> 02:45 PM) Has the Occupy Herbstreit movement been posted yet? Because it's awesome: http://occupyherbstreit.tumblr.com/ Yikes, maybe I should stop sporting my Herby jersey for the near future? -

QUOTE (Rex Hudler @ Oct 18, 2011 -> 01:42 PM) Kiss my a$$ Rock. You're a smart guy, but sometimes an idiot. If you even half paid attention to what I've posted you know it has nothing to do with sour grapes. We'd have lost that game with or without those plays. But forgive me for trying to isolate plays that anyone on this site would take offense to if it happened to their team. And again, if you can show me where Michigan players were dirty in this game, I'll be happy to take your point as valid. Problem is you like making blanket statements that have nothing to back them up. Come on really? The plays you posted were flagged, thats what happens in football. Gholston is going to get suspended like he should have for the punch, just like your player did against ND. That guy is dirty as hell and had some cheap shots when we played them as well. In the Sugar Bowl Cam Heyward was put in the exact same arm bar that happened in your game, in fact it tore his elbow out so bad that he's had to have multiple procedures on it since that game. Dirty s*** happens all the time in football involving meathead kids. When your post was first put up on the Scout site (and now on this site) I felt the same as alot of people thinking that he should have been kicked out and suspended. Now that its going to actually happen what is the point of whining about it? Outside of the punch (clearly dirty) your own players have said it was a tough game all around without being cheap. Thats about what it looked like to me who watched the entire game. And saying that it doesnt bother you that MSU (your little brother) beat you 4 years in a row with that dirty f*** Dantonio at the helm you are kidding yourself. -

QUOTE (SouthsideDon48 @ Oct 18, 2011 -> 12:32 PM) I'm a poker player, I'd be in favor of a separate poker thread. I'm exclusively a live tournament poker player, though. I never liked online poker. I'm with you. I played online a TON for years until I found out about the scams. I still have buddies that swear by it since getting scammed is such a remote possibility if you play 20 tables at once. Nothing beats being able to feel the cards and look the players in the eyes.

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Oct 18, 2011 -> 12:08 PM) [/thread police] Ass. Just saying. I know the media comes here as this is a great place to gather information on the minor leagues and the big club, and also on rumors that tend to have legs. But jeez, every rumor posting having to do with offseason moves seems to have come straight from here, either that or its the same sources (could be true)

QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Oct 18, 2011 -> 11:11 AM) Possibly 2 1st rounders for Carson f***ing Palmer. Al Davis isn't dead, apparently. I get the feeling if Davis was still alive he would have made the even worse decision to start Pryor. Maybe this is actually the less of the terrible decisions. -
The only coaches that were screwed over were Walker, Cora and Cox. Arguably Ozzie's 3 best pals. They were also probably the easiest to replace.

Can we consolidate these threads into "Rumors written by the media taken directly off of Soxtalk" Yes Buehrle is in their plans, it was mentioned WEEKS ago. Yes they are looking to trade Q, Thornton, Danks and maybe Floyd. Duh.

So outside of the vids posted where there were flags thrown for the foul, it looks like Gholston will be suspended. My guess is the same amount of games that Mouton was penalized for a similar incident. -

QUOTE (Rex Hudler @ Oct 17, 2011 -> 11:40 PM) Show the videos of UM players being dirty then! I'm not saying its never happened, but I haven't seen anything like that this year. And I've watched the punch video several times and don't see what you're seeing. There isn't enough on that video. Lewan's arm was below gholston's head, not pushing it down. What it looked like to me, expecially if you catch the beginning of the play at the bottom of the screen, is that Lewan buried Gholston on the play and kept him down, which is what a lineman is supposed to do! On the flip side, a defensive lineman's goal is to break away from an OL, not grab his arm and pull him down with a twisting arm bar. Somehow I knew you wouldn't be able to take your jersey off and look at things subjectively. I can tell you this. I've watched every UM game this year and this is the least penalized team we have had in a long time. Very few penalties due to lack of discipline. And I can't recall any that measured up to the 4 or 5 personal foul penalties MSU had in one game. So unless you want to come up with some video proof, your first sentence is pure OSU BS. Lol and I'm the one with the bias? Jeez. I watched the whole game, this rivalry is always very dirty, unlike The Game. Msu deserved to be penalized at least as much as they were and Gholston should have been booted. Either way it wasn't that close of a game and this looks like sour grapes for a loss. UW will run all over them next week and it will make you feel better. -

QUOTE (Brian @ Oct 17, 2011 -> 07:12 PM) Good stuff, Rex. Would like to see the Spartans take some hits. Were there no dirty plays committed by UM In that game? Before the punch the UM lineman was clearly being dirty when pushing his head into the ground. Obviously he should have been ejected after the punch, but there was dirty s*** all over that game, always is. -
You need to understand that blowing it up and "rebuilding" gives you virtually no guarantee of being competitive. The Royals are still rebuilding, and rebuilding, and rebuilding.
-
They arent really rebuilding, especially since you have large veteran salaries that you cannot move or replace. They are more restructuring by moving some movable players and replacing them with lower cost alternatives that hopefully have the same or greater production.

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Oct 17, 2011 -> 01:29 PM) And at worst, that is a main route (Madison) for the CTA buses. They drop you off literally at the front door of the UC. RIght, route 20, you can see when they are coming on your smart phone. Dont park in my f***ing neighborhood though jerk offs!!!!!

QUOTE (smalls2598 @ Oct 17, 2011 -> 01:05 PM) Thanks for the info, Rock. No worries. I also believe Carmichaels and La Luce do it as well, those are more restaurants.

Sounds alot like Ohio HS football. They captured it nicely in the 2001 documentary called "Go Tigers" about Massilon football. -

Anyone else yell "I cant believe Hester caught it!" When he caught that bomb? I fully expected him to either drop it or let a defender pick it. -
QUOTE (smalls2598 @ Oct 17, 2011 -> 09:54 AM) I've never been to any of them before. But I'm going to the game on Saturday night, and a buddy wants to drive to the bar for pre-game food/drinks, then shuttle over to the game. Which do you recommend? Theres really only a handful of bars over in the area: West End: Extremely crowded all the time, closest to stadium Beer Bistro-Small and usually busy Third Rail-The smallest Crossroads-My pick, large and usually not that crowded, very good food Ethyl's-Stanleys old space, very upscale bar food, all beers in cans, wide selection Union Park-Ghetto
-
Pretty much all of them. Which one are you looking at? Every bar on Madison will.

QUOTE (Brian @ Oct 16, 2011 -> 06:09 PM) I have only seen the 2nd half of the Notre Dame game and this all the Michigan football I have seen this season because of work on Sat. Didn't even realize they were ranked 11. That is absurd since they haven't played anybody. Even Hoke said they were overrated. They started out this way under RichRod too, conference play is where you'll see if they've made any strides. -
