QUOTE (lostfan @ Apr 28, 2011 -> 09:57 PM) I think Carimi is going to make it... Angelo was openly shopping the 29th pick though. I wouldn't be too mad at a trade down I wouldn't mind some of the lb's left on the board either. I think if you can get multiple picks in the next two rounds, take em. -
QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Apr 27, 2011 -> 11:52 AM) I grill in the rain, haha. But every Sunday I'll pull my old BBQ out. A new favorite of mine is some bbq'd pork tenderloin with a one day marinade. Comes out delicious. Can you expand on that recipe?

QUOTE (bmags @ Apr 28, 2011 -> 04:49 PM) I'm also surprised Newton is being considered for #1. But I'm also surprised Gabbert is so high. He's got the tools no doubt, but his pocket presence is going to be f***ed up. I have zero confidence in any of the QB's in this draft. Especially the ones picked to go in the first round. Newton looks like a bust, Locker cant hit the broad side of a barn, Mallet is a total headcase and I have no idea how Gabbert will adjust. -

QUOTE (whitesoxfan99 @ Apr 28, 2011 -> 03:49 PM) This just simply isn't true. Newton had a higher QB rating this year than Tebow did in any of his three years as a starter (their passing numbers were very similar, but Newton did it with less weapons around him and from the games I watched without near as many shovel passes or one yard completions that his receivers then broke for TDs), and was a much more effective runner than Tebow was in any of Tebow's three years as a starter. They had a very similar YPA, so they both were throwing short passes as well as long ones. They are very similar players and Tebow had a much more successful college career. I'll give you that his rating was better, but I dont think theres a ton separating the players including their bad mechanics. Yet when the draft rolls around Tebow wasnt even considered as the #1 pick and was pretty much not even thought of as a first round pick and people were shocked when Denver took him. Newton played one year, has extreme character issues and is universally considered the easy #1 overall pick. It just makes no sense to me. And I was one of the guys who hated on Tebow, and I see the exact same player in Newton. -

QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Apr 28, 2011 -> 02:43 PM) It doesnt matter who drafted him, Tebow went in the first, so Newton going 15-17 picks before him isnt that much of a difference. Its not like Tebow was drafted in the same round as Brady. I was mainly speaking on how much the scouts, fans etc crapped on him prior to the draft, yet Cam Newton who wasnt as successful and never had a year as good at Tebow did and has the same mechanical issues is a consensus #1 pick. -

What the hell does Cam Newton have that Tebow didnt have? They both have terrible mechanics, havent operated in a pro-style offense and were running QB's. Newton wasnt even as good as Tebow. -

QUOTE (zenryan @ Apr 27, 2011 -> 09:12 PM) BRUINS!!! They did everything in their power to hand Montreal this series. Just stupid penalty after stupid penalty. I'm curious on how they'll break my heart in the next series. Great game

QUOTE (Tony82087 @ Apr 27, 2011 -> 05:25 PM) You move Seabrook, and the small glimpse of toughness you had on your blueline is now gone, let alone on the team. While the opposition doesn't ever fear that Seabrook is on the ice, he brings a physical presence to a team that is SEVERELY lacking in that department. I've always thought Seabrook was a little overrated(certainly not an Olympic caliber D man), but he would be difficult to replace. WHo would you move (we all know it cant be soupy)? Personally I would be for moving Seabs or Keith if we could sign someone like Bieksa for cheaper.
-
QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Apr 27, 2011 -> 04:42 PM) I feel like selling low on Seabrook is just a bad idea. Who are you going to move then to clear some space? He's easily one of the easier D men to move with a large contract.
-
QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Apr 27, 2011 -> 02:37 PM) True, but it's much harder to find a team like that when has a $5.8M cap number for the next 5 seasons. Maybe, I mean Campbell was signed when the team felt they had a hole to fill on the top D pairing, so there are teams out there that will splurge.
-
QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Apr 27, 2011 -> 02:02 PM) It would have been much easier to do that if they hadn't signed him to an extension a few months ago. Some team may be looking for a physical "top pairing" type D man to anchor their blue line.
-
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Apr 27, 2011 -> 01:47 PM) I would not be surprised to see one of the top 4 guys dealt. that means pretty much either Seabs or Hjal because of contracts. You have to rid your self of one of those contracts to add a little depth. We have some youngins waiting in the wings to fill in some spots, but we still need some established players for cheaper than Seabrook commands.
-
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Apr 27, 2011 -> 01:23 PM) That cap number increase would be awesome for the Hawks. It would give them much needed breathing room. I hate to say it, but you have to shop Seabrook if you can.

Asik clearly needs to get min, and I liked that he was the first option off the bench to replace Noah.
-
QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Apr 27, 2011 -> 11:04 AM) I really, really doubt they'd have anywhere near the revenue levels. And the costs of fielding a team would fall as well if not more drastically.
-
QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Apr 27, 2011 -> 11:01 AM) Not with something like the NFL there isn't. The quality would suffer drastically. For a few years, buut then it would be fine. Fans would still watch.

Any company isn't a billion dollar entity without it's employees. The problem is there are always more employees out there.

I think their coaches thought they won the cup.
