  1. Dorian Bell transfers to Pitt after getting suspended for season for third pot smoking offense.
  2. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ May 10, 2011 -> 11:33 AM) a $3 Bud is better than a $7 Miller, especially if you plan on drinking several of them I get an immediate hangover if I even have one bud lite.
  3. QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ May 10, 2011 -> 11:00 AM) So my mom has gotten 2 emails, in back-to-back days from Comcast about the movies I have downloaded illegally. This blows. what are you using to download movies?
  4. QUOTE (greg775 @ May 9, 2011 -> 04:47 PM) I think it'd be pretty easy to have gunmen storm the stadium/arenas during several minutes after halftime of a basketball or football game. Maybe they have eye in the sky people watching but I doubt it. I've been to a lot of pro and college football and basketball games and the minimum wage security people don't seem like they have a clue. It wouldnt take that many gunmen either. Look at what happened in Mumbai, 164 dead and over 300 injured. You unleash some automatic weapons in a college football stadium and you could have thousands dead depending on how quickly it empties and how quickly they reload.
  5. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ May 9, 2011 -> 04:13 PM) I'll stop. But let me just say one more thing. It's getting pretty ridiculous how sensitive everybody is. Kobe says the F word in the heat of the moment and he all of a sudden hates all gay people. It's just getting stupid. That's why I responded. But I'm done now. Back to hoops. Chris Paul is better than Rose. Bring it! By saying you'll stop, it doesnt mean taking another shot. And its not saying he hates all mentally challenged people, its not furthering the use of a word that is hurtful and discriminatory, especially using it in the context of insulting a reporter. That not being sensitive, its being a rational empathetic adult.
  6. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ May 9, 2011 -> 04:05 PM) If an athlete or somebody of stature says something that impacts you to that degree ( I don't mean you. People in general) then you need to take a look in the mirror and breakdown what's wrong with you. And another thing: You said most mentally challenged people would take great offense to somebody using that word. False. I know for a fact that most mentally challenged people don't even realize they're mentally challenged.Wow, just wow. As someone who is a minority, I would think you would have a little more insight into discrimination and hurtful words. I volunteer for an organization that works with hundreds of mentally challenged kids throughout the Chicago area. We focus on helping them through their adult lives since the state completely cuts off funding for them as soon as they graduate highschool. Someone as knowledgeable as you should know that there are varying degrees of disability across several diseases that effect the kids. I had the pleasure to listen to them give a presentation to several county and state leaders about the impact of the R-word on their lives and how its hurtful to them to hear it spoken. Most of these kids have the mental capacity of an elementary school child, but still can understand discrimination and can be hurt by not feeling like they belong. A public figure should never use a term that is hurtful and discriminatory when he is trying to put someone down in the way that Lebron was. If he used the N-word to describe someone who was lazy and stupid, I'm betting the black community wouldn't be too happy, nor should they be. You really should get your head out of your ass and open your eyes.
  7. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ May 9, 2011 -> 03:34 PM) You guys are wound a little bit too tight. You know how many times I been called the N word? Oh well. s*** happens. LeBron was talking out his ass. He wasn't trying to downgrade all mentally challenged people. Doesnt change the fact its classless and disrespectful, especially during an interview referring to a member of the media.
  8. QUOTE (MexSoxFan#1 @ May 9, 2011 -> 02:55 PM) Of all the things to hate on LBJ, that he said the word "retarded" is really no big deal in my opinion...Haven't we all been guilty of that?I've used that word and believe me, I'm not thinking of mentally challenged folks nor do I have anything against them. You arent a public figure. I can point you to several hundred mentally challenged kids that find that word incredibly upsetting to them and their efforts to gain acceptance in our society. if you'd like I will even point you to their fb pages where you can see how much that word hurts them. It's absolutely classless to throw that word around, especially as a public figure.
  9. QUOTE (Jake @ May 6, 2011 -> 07:26 PM) I think people just try to make the most of a negative situation. s***, I'm pregnant, might as well try and get paid then! Not, let's make a baby so there's an outside chance I'm the one teen pregnancy chosen for television! Kids do weird s*** for attention. Including getting pregnant and even killing themselves.
  10. Lebron using the word "retarded." Classless f***.
  11. There should be a button where I can just disagree with your post without replying.
  12. QUOTE (chw42 @ May 8, 2011 -> 09:47 PM) Teague ran Korver over on one of the big layups Atlanta had and it should have been an offensive foul. Yup, bad no call. Charge that Bogans took and then was reversed by Crawford was questionable. All part of the refs getting caught up in the crowd. Its human nature.
  13. QUOTE (knightni @ May 8, 2011 -> 12:55 PM) I don't see Floyd going anywhere. Danks, Buehrle, and Jackson are less likely to stay much past this year; whether it's free agency or trade due to not re-signing. If you could get a good young impact bat for Danks, I'd deal him right now.
  14. QUOTE (chw42 @ May 8, 2011 -> 09:44 PM) They probably would have lost regardless, but it was a 6 point game at that point and three free throws would have been incredibly important. There were several odd calls down the stretch that changed the momentum. All part of having a home crowd though. Finish em in Chicago tues and thurs and call it a day.
  15. Well, close them out at home, get those borderline calls and get ready for the Heat.
  16. Josh Smith shouldve fouled out in the third quater, but instead is dominating.
  17. WTF. Very bad officiating the last two games.
  18. Cant get any breaks, cant get a charge, Rose gets hammered, Horford camps out for 5 seconds for the layup. Bad sequence.
  19. Thornton actually looked pretty damn awesome last night, and thats really encouraging. He may have been left in a little too long, but its not like he was getting hit around, the hits they got on him were shanked bleeders.
  20. QUOTE (Felix @ May 7, 2011 -> 12:40 AM) It's really laughable how defensive you guys are. But hey, Rose had a fantastic game. Congrats. No nearly as laugable as calling his last game terrible. The hawks aren't helping you out much this series.
  21. There are kids that will do anything to get famous because they think the faces on US weekly is the pinnacle of life. Getting pregnant is not outside of that craziness.
  22. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ May 6, 2011 -> 10:02 AM) I really didn't think Humber would be this good, but at the same time, I have no illusion about him finishing the season with anywhere close to those kind of numbers either. The guy does have the talent to be a good pitcher, his head just kept getting in the way. And as a response to this thread. f*** KW.
  23. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ May 6, 2011 -> 09:17 AM) There was a lot more security present this morning in the city. Could also have been due to the shooting at Jackson and Wabash
