Graduate of my HS, Downers Grove North, Randy Poffo was drafted by the cardinals straight out of HS. He set high school records in hitting all over the board. -
How important is this 2 game series with CLE

QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ May 20, 2011 -> 10:51 AM) Agreed, Sans Duque, but you can factor in BMac (who was Duque's backup) who when healthy has been nothing but a productive big leaguer (albeit, he's rarely healthy). Ah yeah, I should have said playoff rotation. -

QUOTE (The Critic @ May 20, 2011 -> 10:56 AM) ThrasherJets = expansion Browns IMO. The Jets are dead (or dying in Arizona, anyway), long live the Jets. I asked my boss why he didnt keep the Whalers name when he moved them to Carolina, I got a scowl in return.

QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ May 20, 2011 -> 10:40 AM) And I don't get this. Just cause some idiots at baseball prospectuses projected us to suck, didn't mean the rest of the league did. I know I thought on paper, entering that season, we had an awesome chance at making some noise and considered ourselves a favorite for the division. For pete sakes, the Sox have been favorites for the majority of the decade by most of the analysts in the know. Sadly, they haven't lived up to that status too often. But this BS about comparing this years Cleveland team to the 2005 White Sox has to stop. It is a baseless argument. From that team you still have many players playing prominent roles on the Sox and other teams. There were a few flash in the pans in the pen, but outside of that it was a solid team. Every member of that starting rotation is still pitching in the majors. -
Those are some nice tight shorts there.

QUOTE (flavum @ May 19, 2011 -> 10:49 PM) It was important, and they done good. "Hey Cleveland, we are better than you, remember?" -
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ May 20, 2011 -> 08:07 AM) Also encouraging last night was seeing Chris Sale hitting 97 consistently last night. That was as hard as he has thrown all year. I also liked Gavin hitting 93 late in the game out of the stretch.

QUOTE (chw42 @ May 19, 2011 -> 09:44 PM) 8 back, only 5 games under. The Teahen curse is GONE! For now. Its a small sample size, but I think you can say that Teahen makes teams suck.

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ May 20, 2011 -> 08:52 AM) None of this would have attracted much attention if Tressel doesn't do his best Bruce Pearl impersonation. Actually they are very different situations. My point was there are a ridiculous amount of schools that are being punished, and alot of them havent made a single headline. kudos to ESPN for actually putting the list out there. -
QUOTE (Brian @ May 19, 2011 -> 04:56 PM) Kanter is a ?, isn't he. I would be more confident in Knight because we know what he is and have seen him play. Kanter hasn't played much against good competition the past few years. He is because he didnt play in college last year, but he's a pretty damn good player and showed it against some real top talent in All Star games that I saw.

Just read the article, although still citing some inaccurate facts, at least ESPN the mag pointed out the other schools that have been busted or punished in the last year and I'll give em credit for that. Many of which didnt end up at prominent stories. USC USan Fran AZ Moorehead Tennessee Chat Michigan Texas Tech UConn Cal SMU ASU UNC Boise St Tennessee LSU Oregon South Carolina San Diego Auburn All in one years time. -
QUOTE (Brian @ May 19, 2011 -> 04:36 PM) I was thinking Irving going #1 until Jalen Rose made a good point yesterday. You have 2 of the first 4 picks, maximize them. Take Williams number #1 that Brandon Knight as your future PG at #4 instead of Irving at #1 and a ? at #4. Very valid strategy right there.

What RPG game shoudl I be focusing on? I dont like the ones where you just hit attack and wait. Or I could just take Myst out for my old Apple and become frustrated for hours at a time.

QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ May 19, 2011 -> 03:22 PM) Plus he can easily match up with Mike Miller (or Bibby). Bulls just have to find a solid way of handling the pick and roll/switch scenarios. And on the flip side, Bulls really need to take advantage switching Miller onto Rose when he's on the court. Yeah, no idea why they werent exploiting that yesterday, although they probably would've missed those shots too.

QUOTE (Quinarvy @ May 19, 2011 -> 04:09 PM) I loved Oblivion, but is incredibly glitchy. Still a great game. Haven't played Dragon Age, but if its like Mass Effect, it'll be fun. Still havent decided, instead I am going to make myself crazy by reading reviews on Amazon.com

QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ May 19, 2011 -> 03:34 PM) People over 60 know how to use the computer? No s***? Anyway, if we are doing the youngest, I don't think I win, but I bet I'm younger than 90% here. I'm 20. Yes, but they still think email is something that comes directly into the inside of their computer and only that computer.

Except the indictments were brought down today, which is new news. Alot newer and relevant that some of the s*** I've been seeing in college football headlines thats for sure. I'm still holding out hope that ESPN will retract its inaccurate story about Thad Gibson getting his car for free, but im not holding my breath. -

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ May 19, 2011 -> 03:22 PM) Were the indictments today totally unexpected or was a previous arrest something that has already been reported? The fact that we dont know shows you how buried it is. The tree poisoning is easier to find. -

QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ May 19, 2011 -> 02:50 PM) Are you on Tressel's payroll? Not a lawyer. Just think its funny that SEC players robbing people at gunpoint can be buried under an AD's one line quote from a week ago. -

Front Page news on ESPN, OSU's AD supports Tressel. Buried way into the NCAA page, 4 Auburn players indicted for their roles in armed robbery. -
QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ May 19, 2011 -> 11:30 AM) Heads up, this video is NSFW. Apparently, the Green Men couldn't make it to the game last night. Lucky for Ben Eager, a young lady took over their job. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kqGJ5biohPc...player_embedded Somehow she is tan, but you can tell she's got the canadian winter weight still going strong.
