  1. QUOTE (whitesoxfan101 @ May 26, 2011 -> 03:52 PM) Nobody will ever get that again, I think the NCAA themselves said that. How much trouble Ohio State gets in probably depends on how many of the accusations against them are true. The NCAA usually takes far too long on their investigations, but I can see why they would take long on this one, because it seems like there is a new accusation against Ohio State every couple of weeks. They are going to get in a ton of trouble, but USC basically lost basically half of their scholarships for three years (10 a year for 3 years, and when you consider the scholly limit is 85, that's about 21 a year), a national title, and two years of potential postseason games. It doesn't get much more brutal than that. Then again, I really don't see how Ohio State is going to defend themselves. They might not have had a lack of institutional control, but their ignorance defense is clearly a crock. Actually their defense is that Tressel hid the infraction and then lied, and that pretty much looks like the truth at this point. All that dumbass had to do was report the emails to the compliance dept.
  2. its pretty easy to youtube his workouts actually.
  3. QUOTE (whitesoxfan99 @ May 26, 2011 -> 03:24 PM) You mean relying on physical skills like being able to make jumpers with people draped all over him, being an incredible passer for a wing and an exceptional ball handler for his size? Worth noting, Lebron is bigger than Karl Malone, yet Lebron possesses guard skills and is much quicker and more athletic than he should be at that size. The dude is 10 lbs lighter than Dwight Howard, yet could play PG in the NBA. Thats ridiculousness.
  4. QUOTE (Soxbadger @ May 26, 2011 -> 03:19 PM) From all accounts Lebron is as hard of worker as anyone, for all the people creating this Lebron doesnt work hard myth, hes probably played more games than any player in the NBA over the last few years, when you count NBA games, Olympic games, etc. I just dont see any reality in these statements. His workouts are outstanding. His pre-game routine would demolish most of the people on this board. Then he plays an entire NBA game.
  5. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ May 26, 2011 -> 03:12 PM) Strength is not a physical gift. To an extent it is. The frame you are blessed with holds an inert amount of strength. Lebron was blessed with a very thick frame, perfect for adding muscle mass. With that said, his workouts are ridiculous. I've seen them on video and if thats not working hard then I dont know what is.
  6. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ May 26, 2011 -> 03:11 PM) But back then you could physically manhandle perimeter players. Joe Dumars wasn't a great defender because of his athletic ability. Could LeBron go down low more? Maybe. But it's really not an issue. Not at this stage in his career when he's in his athletic prime. Defensively you cannot hand check or really use a forearm, and the charging rules have also been changed to open up the lane and the space under the basket. If anything, defensive players back then could man handle offensive players before a foul was called, now touch fouls are the norm. Lebron should begin to explore his post game especially as he ages and his knees start to go, if he can develop that and a good fadeaway he will be dominant for a LONG time. In fact, the post game is one thing I think Rose will start to add to his game even before his peak just to add another wrinkle.
  7. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ May 26, 2011 -> 03:02 PM) Who really cares about a post game? The game has changed. He doesn't need a post game. He won two MVPs (would've won a third this year if everybody didn't hate him) doing exactly what he does. The NBA manipulated the rules to favor wings/guards and the best player in the league has taken advantage. If this was 1998 I'd probably agree. Wings that can play in the post are a huge mismatch. Jordan was so great as he aged because he implemented a post game against smaller guards. The rules in the post favor the offensive player more now than before, so not sure how it changed to support your point.
  8. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ May 26, 2011 -> 01:30 PM) Why are you focusing on vending machines? There are a limitless number of uses for this such as... ...which is from the original article. Because I was focusing on the vending machine video that was posted. The rest sounds awesome.
  9. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ May 26, 2011 -> 01:26 PM) You do realize Apple will be implementing a similar system in their phone too, right? Doesn't mean the coke machines will all be replaced. That's the weak link in things like this. Vending machines are operated by independent organizations and most likely they wouldn't budget for a whole fleet refresh. The starbucks ap on my iPhone at strabucks is very awesome though
  10. Yeah good luck refreshing all coke machines. I use this feature on my phone at Starbucks.
  11. QUOTE (T R U @ May 26, 2011 -> 01:18 PM) I know, I was only dreaming You could help that dream if you want to move to Columbus. They have 2 openings in their compliance dept, making it by far the biggest in the country. Of course you have to monitor all 1100 student athletes, not just the football team.
  12. QUOTE (SexiAlexei @ May 26, 2011 -> 12:51 PM) I don't get it... the guy even says; "They explain the rules to you, but as a kid you're not really listening to all of them rules," Small said. "You go out and you just, people show you so much love, you don't even think about the rules. You're just like 'Ah man, it's cool.' You take it, and next thing you know the NCAA is down your back." So basically he was well aware that what he was doing was against the rules, but he did it anyway. What exactly is the team to do? You educate them, you can't sit there and hold their hand. The guy knew the rules, but he went against them. How is that the team's fault? Which is why he spent half of his career suspended from the team.
  13. QUOTE (T R U @ May 26, 2011 -> 01:03 PM) That would be awesome if Ohio State got the ole SMU Death Penalty Lol. Couldn't be more different situations, but I'm sure you knew that before posting this. Lack of institutional control is the new death penalty, which is what was upheld in USC's case yesterday for which they lose 30 scholarships and bowl games. Players selling their own property when being taught it was against the rules does not fall into the same category.
  14. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ May 25, 2011 -> 10:19 PM) What? Over 25 PPG on 50% shooting and a PER of 25.6. Which I believe he was tops among all shooting guards. His stats aren't going to be the same playing with LeBron and Bosh. You should know that. I dont do advanced stats in bball, so I dont care about PER, especially when its a superstar player. His stats are on the decline, and his "dropping 30 points" was one year and it looks like an outlier. D Wade is an awesome player, but we've seen what he can be at his peak, and its come and gone. When he was Rose's age he was in his second year in the league and it still took him 4 years to hit his best year that you cited above.
  15. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ May 25, 2011 -> 09:41 PM) That's just this series. Wade is still great. I wouldn't read too much into 4 games. Would you look into the rest of the season? His numbers outside of rebounds are in decline, and he still cant shoot the 3 after all these years.
  16. QUOTE (IlliniKrush @ May 25, 2011 -> 06:38 PM) I'm sure you want all of them to be like Jonathan Toews, perfect men. Nucks fans consider him a douche as well. And I'll still take Kesler and Bieksa on the Hawks in a heart beat. Bieksa is exactly what I wish Hammer was.
  17. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ May 25, 2011 -> 07:00 PM) Wade is clearly better to me. Only thing Rose does better is shoot free throws. I'd add ball handing and finishing at the rim to that. Rose also carries his team while Wade does not.
  18. mobile me has recovered a ton of stolen iphones in chicago according to the police.
  19. Just for clarification, Bossard is the only staff member we have that is the best in professional sports.
  20. QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ May 25, 2011 -> 04:38 PM) FM =/= goons and douchebags. Burrows, Bieksa, Torres, all douchers. Kesler
  21. QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ May 25, 2011 -> 04:00 PM) Here's a thought: get a f***ing hit with RISP. Yup. WTF was AJ swinging at. You cant just guess swing and go with it. Especially with a 2-1 count.
  22. QUOTE (Sonik22 @ May 25, 2011 -> 12:57 PM) And hopefully comes to the Blackhawks, he's the kind of player we need... He a great fit, I would be more than happy to move some players for him.
  23. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ May 25, 2011 -> 09:28 AM) Wow, that was ridiculous. Bieksa was literally the only player on the ice who knew where the puck was. Everyone else was clueless. Ill be happy when he leaves for free agency this offseason.
  24. Oh and the Rangers bullpen is pretty crappy, Tomko some 35 year old japanese dude making his first appearance and Dave Bush? Wow
  25. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ May 25, 2011 -> 08:02 AM) Morel had an RBI single and Quentin performed in the 3 hole. The only rational response is to bench Morel and to drop Q back to 5th. Only way they'll learn. Morels RBI single was a thing of beauty BTW. First pitch laced through a drawn in infield? Thats veteran s*** right there.
