Surprise surprise, Purdue not at home, getting whooped -
QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Mar 11, 2011 -> 03:48 PM) I'd say get out and float with your feet pointing down-stream. At least that's how you go through rapids if you fall out of your boat/kayak. The floatsam complicates that a bit, but I'd just imagine it'd be way to easy for you to get trapped in the car as it became submerged or rolled. Cars will sta above water for some time due to the air in the main cabin. Your best chance is to stay in the protection of the car at least until the air runs out and then try to make your escape then.

QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Mar 11, 2011 -> 04:35 PM) The problem is when Leuer posts up he doesnt get the same foul calls as Sullinger does. Its probably because Leuer is 6'10 and so when he jumps hes clearly above the defender, where as no matter how high Sullinger jumps a defenders arm seems to be coming down on him. He needs to put on about 60 lbs in the ass region and he'll draw some contact. The partially Sullys technique though, he forces you into contact. -

QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Mar 11, 2011 -> 04:29 PM) Francis had a nice career for a while; Brand was legit before he got injured; Lamar Odom is an above average player. Baron Davis was pretty solid for a while before injuries got the best of him; Rip was pretty solid. 5 of the top 6 picks (see guys named above) all had a few well above average seasons in this league. Bender was the one full blown bust. Wally Z wasn't anything special but he was a solid role player till back injuries got the best of him. Shawn Marion has been good, Jason Terry is a machine 6th man, Andre Miller a very underrated above average point guard. In fact, the 1999 draft was a pretty damn deep draft that produced a lot of quality players. No full on star, but a lot of good players and plenty of all stars. That's exactly the kind of draft this looks to be. A lot of good players, no superstars. And all bets are off on who actually succeeds. -

QUOTE (fathom @ Mar 11, 2011 -> 04:28 PM) Sullinger does seem to have gotten heavier as the season's gone on. He looked slow today. And don't you dare rip my man Michael Sweetney. He was fantastic at Georgetown! He did play every min. He lost like 30lbs before the season started as well. I'm sure he burgered some of it back on. -

QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Mar 11, 2011 -> 04:26 PM) Brand and Sullinger are pretty similar, I just feel that Sullinger has gotten a lot of soft calls. I know that as an OSU you fan you disagree, but thats just my perspective. http://statsheet.com/mcb/players/compare?a...;p1=elton-brand I just dont like undersized power forwards, but thats just my bias. That's just because you aren't used to post players, you think he should back up and jack some threes. Like i said, Sully has a good midrange game he really hasn't shown much this year. If he does stay, i expect him to break it out quite a bit next season. -

QUOTE (whitesoxfan99 @ Mar 11, 2011 -> 04:22 PM) Illinois is a much better job and Grant would be walking into a really good situation talent wise with the 2011 class and the current freshmen and sophomores. Let's be honest, there's no much of a chance of Weber getting canned. -

QUOTE (maggsmaggs @ Mar 11, 2011 -> 04:22 PM) You just can't do what he does in college and be successful in the NBA. Sweetney was a bad comp, I recalled him being better. But I just think he'll be a productive bench player rather than starter. He will be just so unathletic compared to NBA bigs that I think it will be difficult for to have starting success. What does unathletic mean? He has NBA footwork right now as a freshman in college. He has probably the best hands for a post player in the country. A post player with his size doesn't need to jump out of the gym, especially with superior technique. That's why he is rated so highly by experts and NBA scouts. -

QUOTE (maggsmaggs @ Mar 11, 2011 -> 04:14 PM) I honestly think he'll be a reincarnated version of Mike Sweetney. Can be solid in spurts, but not a real good player overall. I think he will stick in the league longer, but I just don't foresee a great career. Who knows maybe he'll be DeJuan Blair? Come on, Sullinger is better now than Sweetney was after 3 years in school. Dejuan Blair? Come on. Sullinger is taller, has a larger wingspan, shoots the ball better and does it all as a freshman. Blair was an 11 point guy as a frosh. -

QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Mar 11, 2011 -> 04:15 PM) Sullinger's best case scenario is Elton Brand. Unless he can some how become a Charles Barkley, Sullinger's impact is going to be limited as he isnt that tall and he wont get 10+ ft's a game in the pros. He should have had 25 of them today, he'll get a lot of them in the pros, but certainly there will be alot more jump shot opportunities. He's almost the exact same size as Brand was in the NBA right now, and it took him 2 years in school to come out. -

QUOTE (danman31 @ Mar 11, 2011 -> 04:05 PM) I got crushed for this last time and he had a fantastic game so I'll probably get crushed again, but which of Sullinger's skills translate to the pros? I see most of his college dominance coming from a size advantage. What does he do that will still work against NBA bigs? It's not his height, it's the size of his ass. He also has a good midrange game he hasn't shown in college. He's also a very good rebounder. He'll be a good PF in the NBA but not a star. Could be a 20-10 type of guy at his peak Elton Brand-esque. Consequently Brands draft was about as weak as this one will be. -

QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Mar 11, 2011 -> 01:11 PM) I know that. But in that situation, you warn the kid, don't T him up in overtime of a conference tournament. Anyways, like I said, didn't effect the outcome at all so it's not a big deal in the big picture, I just don't like refs trying to take control of the game like that. They wanted to keep their horribleness consistent i think. Alright i got ILL by 9 -

QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Mar 11, 2011 -> 01:08 PM) It's such a stupid decision on the refs part to call that T there, it obviously didn't effect the outcome in anyways, but I hate when refs do s*** like that. They only called it because he threw his mouthpiece. I don't think I've seen that before. And thank god no more NW, they kill us. -
